BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

So roughly 45 hours for a first playthrough?

Is the the standard for the soul's games?

Couple questions for anyone who would be kind enough to answer:

1) How are the iframes? Is it bad like DS2 or are they accurate, meaning, you don't finish a dodge animation then suddenly get pulled over 5 feet to the enemies weapon and take damage?

2) Waste of Skin. People are saying, "Oh! That looks good as you can level up the 6 wherever you want!" Reading the OP, I'm not seeing how that is possible. It appears you start at level 4 and have hardly any blood echos to level up anything. How are you going from a 4 to a 10 with no blood echos?

I heard the iframes/hitboxes were pretty good from reddit.

You can direct which stats you want to raise from 4 to 10 is the point. It doesn't matter if you don't start with many BEs. You'll get enough eventually.

No idea. Some impressions have mentioned that the hit boxes are really good but I don't think anything's been said on iframes just yet.

Blood echoes are like Souls. So while you don't start with any, you can acquire echoes and level up, thus Waste fo Skins is good because its the lowest possible level out of all the classes.

3) Sounds. I'm hearing great things about the sounds used for weapons hitting, etc but how about the output? Is it in DTS?, 5.1? DD?

Haven't seen anything mentioned about it.

4) Aggo enemies. People are saying they will stay on you and does that mean like forever? If you aggro an enemy, he will follow you everywhere until you fight? Can they climb ladders?

It seems like enemies are much more aggressive then previous games, to the point where you can't just run past them to collect your blood echoes. They do seem to chase quite a bit but I haven't seen anything so far to indicate that they chase you forever or can climb ladders.

5) Do we have a definitive answer on what each skill represents? I know VIT is health, obviously, but what about the others?

Here is a link to the stat descriptions: http://bloodborne.wiki.fextralife.com/stats

6) Is discovery a dump stat like Luck was in the other games?

Looks like it.

Cool! Thanks for answering, guys. That first question has been my biggest. Hearing it is not janky is just so awesome. Lawd, this game....

Waste of Skin sounds like the way to go. I really hope the sound is in DTS. Can only drool at the prospect of playing this all night with my Sennheisers on and the lights out with all my candles lit.

I think that's about how long it took me to beat DkS1 and 2. Probably around that time for DS, too.

That's good to hear, I'm gonna get DS2 on the PS4 if I like Bloodborne.

Don't suppose anyone knows when the embargo is up?

Might be longer if you are new to the series i finished DS2 in 28 hours.

Dark souls was my first game and i spent around 55 hours in that i got stuck a lot

Demons was around 33 hours for me.

It's a shame that the people with early copies aren't jobless 20 somethings who have the time and patience to finish the game in 3 days so that I can know everything.

Being new to the series definitely prolongs the game. My first exposure to the series was Dark Souls 1. That took me a little over 80 hours to beat.

It took me about 40 hours to get to Orenstein. Then I created a new character because my first character was simply awful. On the new character, I managed to beat the game in 40 hours give or take.

In comparison, I beat Dark Souls 2 in 30 and Demon Souls in 26.

Ya from the impressions i have been reading people are just spending 3 hours at a time and most of that time is not making any progress lol

This coming week is gonna be so damn painful. I just can't.

In the stream I watched last night, some of the AI seemed moronic most of the time. To the point where the player would go up to a crowd of enemies, shoot one of them, and the others would ignore you until you came back and shot them. At other times the player would shoot a dog/wolf and run down some stairs below a fence and instead of coming down the stairs, the dog would stay above him behind the fence. But then later on he ran into two big creatures that didn't leash at all. Shooting one of them brought both running after him. He ran back through the entire level and the creatures were right on him. In old games this would be beneficial because if they killed you, your souls would be there at the start of the area when you respawned. Doesn't work like that in Bloodborne though. He found that out the hard way.

HE IS LIVE!!!!!!!!!

holt fucking shit

he just spent over 20 healing items and 10 firebombs and barely, just barely made it through that... wooooooooooow

no, i can't

i can't watch this anymore

i'm done

Yeah, but I'm not sure I like how
the enemy never stops attacking. That doesn't incourage offensive like they were talking on interviews, on the contrary, the most effective strategy the streamer found was to just dodge back all the time and throw shit from a safe distance.

I also shouldn't be watching this >_>

I have a physical preorder in, but fuck it I just went and got the digital preorder too because I'm on this thing at midnight. Goddamn.

Dat boss fight was fucking amazing

Why would you need a link? It's on U-stream or available on PS Live. And he's not disguising anything about the game he's playing. Search on Bloodborne.

OK More questions after reading the WIKI. Regarding Covenants:

"In some covenant, the sickness is very strong and player can choose to 'consume' his own heart. This Is a permanent choice and binds a character to the covenant permanently. You become beast, and new controls and attacks open up. Dead hunters will bind to the world when they die, their bodies becoming a regular 'mini beast' boss enemy within the world like Red Phantom from dark souls. Covenant system is not finalized, but some detail I remember. There will be 'huge beasts' in the game. ‘ V If you defeat them you have a choice to’become a host for their strain of the sickness at your Shrine. You must invade other player worlds to collect blood“ for your beast. In NG, The Beast heart will gets stronger from blood and other players will have to fight much harder to kill it. One beast is a giant spider, another is a giant snake."

So,
I can choose to "consume my own heart" and pretty much bind myself to a covenant permanently and I then become a permanent beast? Are these what they talk about with "mini beasts bosses"? Then, when I die I leave behind a red phantom (so to speak) that other players will have to fight and they can choose to be a host for my sickness? They then fill up vials of this blood at the shrine?

Can someone ELI5 all this, lol. I think I understand but I really dont.

No more item descriptions during loading screens? :/

It is a cool logo, though.
I hope they patch that, because the number of times you see that screen and the duration it's active just begs for something better. It's a great place to inform the gamer about the lesser known aspects of the game. Or at least hint at stuff.
