BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

I'll play it eventually. I love the art and setting too much to stay away. Just trying to decide whether to grab it next week or not.

There are only a few releases with this much deserved hype every year. I'd say if you have even the slightest interest in it and the gameplay looks appealing, jump in. You don't wanna miss the first week when everyone is still being surprised and figuring stuff out.

I think i'm done watching streams. Every single one is either going to show the initial areas or going to be shut down in minutes.

Sigh. I was thinking about that earlier. I've got a trip the day after release that I'm ridiculously excited for but bummed about missing out on a lot of play time

Well, I think I just saw
The Cthulhu spider's children. Holy fuck kill it with fire/magic/God because that shit is the spawn of satan. FUCK. Terrifying shit.

I'm talking about the reason they used to wipe out his ustream account. Using copyright infringement to get something legal taken down. I understand a company not wanting their game to get out early and played fully for an audience that they assume will not buy it after seeing it, but abusing systems in place to protect copyright infringement isn't a good thing. That is what I am calling bullshit. The only reason embargoes work on reviews and the like is they are reliant on cooperation for later products that can be cut off if you do not agree to it.

Or something.

You agree to the sites terms of service that you won't stream games before release without written permission, he has none, gets banned, that was probably the default reason they put it as but it's not bullshit.

Can someone who has the game test and see if you change your system language to Japanese if it changes the game text language? (Basically see if its got other languages in it).

holy wow

You're damn right... is what I want to say.

But my first encounter with Blightown was on the 360 version of Dark Souls. So the area, which I later enjoyed on the PC version a bit more was ruined because of the FPS issues. Even then, Blightown didn't really have as satisfying of a conclusion as Valley of Defilment. And the Gutter or Gulch or whatever in DS2 was just... meh.

I think what I really enjoyed about Valley of Defilement was the entire package (lack of FPS issues, general atmosphere etc) which includes the Maiden boss. It really brought it all together.

I despise VoD. It's too well done for me. Blighttown and Gutter/Gulch were great.

“It’s a running theme within the story of Bloodborne that you are drawn to the blood, and as you fight more and more in this terrifying combat, you’re being gradually swallowed up by this nightmare. If that is getting across through the combat mechanics, I feel that’s very effective in telling the story of Bloodborne.”- Miyazaki

Man, that Kotaku article is a nice read.
