BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

Do games usually break street date this badly?

In my experience, generally for a game coming out on a Tuesday..there is generally a good chance stock will arrive at stores the week prior (Thursday or Friday). Mom+Pop shops will sell it once it arrives, whereas the big chains (GameStop and...Gamestop) will sell it on release date.

I don't get you guys who are buying and playing it early. You're playing an isolated, offline only experience -- why would you want to take away the community aspect of the game, take that away from your first playthrough, just because you couldn't wait a few days?

I think he is doing it wrong. There has to be a gimmick to this one.

He was hitting the wrong part of the boss. If the arm is a different color than the rest of the boss, hit it. But otherwise I thought the boss AI was terrible. Especially compared to how great some of the earlier boss fights are.

Jeez. This fight against
Amygdala
is a shit show. He's hardly doing any damage. Has this been all boss fights been so far? Shaving off the boss's life bit off bit?

EDIT: Nevermind. He's just not hitting the boss's weakpoint.

Anyone know if that is fore the US version as well? Grey cover is lame as fuck. Guess it doesn't matter since the steelbook can't really be reversible. :c

God dammit. Just watched some videos and seems the Euro versions of the normal steelbook are of the darker art as well.

It is, but very plain. Just that picture on the front side and then the back is all black and has the Bloodborne logo. Not an actual cover like that.

One of these days I'll find a good mom and pop store near Seattle. One of these days. Augh. Souls games always do this to me.

What is this "wait" thing you are talking about?

Maybe because some people don't care about that?

That's how o played though Dark Souls because I have a shit connection. Still fun.

Because they can easily make a new character and start invading knowing more about the game than the majority of people?

I don't know, I wouldn't question why someone decides to play the game early or not, it is their decision to do so.

Yes. But with the proliferation of streaming and it being built into the new consoles, it's becoming a lot more obvious, I guess.

I picked up the game about an hour ago, just finished patching (2gigs and change). Not going to stream though because I'm too lazy to set up my capture card and I don't want to deal with the constant flagging/stopping of my stream due to haters.

I played DS2 day one in PC and I think the only invasions that I got were designed by the game. I don't believe in "pure" experiences, so yea the game should fun regardless of invasions.

I WANT!!

Man, this is taking way too long.. Monday night ( technically Tuesday morning ) CANNOT COME SOON ENOUGH!

I watched 3 bosses streamed so far.. I do not want to ruin the game but I NEED a fix...

Have it pre-ordered on PSN.. I'm tempted to go look for a copy and double dip.. Another $60 might be worth it.. Anyone with success on finding a early copy.. do you mind PMing me further details on where you found it?

I'm in the same boat as you. I live in SoCal and most the people streaming have gotten their copies from around here, no one wants to give up the locations though. Must be some sort of secret society or something :p

It's not what makes the games special for me. The multiplayer doesn't drive these games as much as they enhance the single player experience in a unique way. Each game so far has been designed to be enjoyed offline, with AI-controlled invaders, story-related invading opportunities, and scant messages sprinkled throughout the games. I expect they'll retain those design sensibilities for Bloodborne. I won't be playing the game until release day but even then the community aspect is sort of barren in the beginning, so you could make the same argument saying it's best to wait 2-3 weeks after release.

This is my first Souls game. Am I fucked?

I don't think so. First couple hours you will die a decent amount but once you learn the mechanics you'll be set. Just play smart ! This is my first souls game and i'm starting to gain some confidence and rarely die now

Edit: I literally just died a minute after posting this.

I dunno, for me, the community aspect of dark souls was fully in place. I got invaded by humans, I saw tons of blood stains, tons of ghosts, etc. even if blood stains and ghosts and invasions don't seem to add a lot to things mechanically, it adds a lot to the feel -- the communal feel of the souls game. I wouldn't want to play it offline, especially not the first time. maybe that's just me. I saw it on the shelf and didn't buy it (after thinking for a minute).
