yes you can judge if a boss is easy or not, even if you're watching a stream. you see when the guy rolls, how he rolls, how (if) he dies, you see the boss' moveset etc.Starting with your fists was a viable way to beat the games in the past, so this really isn't much of an indication, some had a fine time with that . He specialized in his use of the saw cleaver, as will people with other weapons. Bosses being challenging comes down to the player -Would you judge Bosses by watching someone else beat them? Or will you judge on your own? The consensus on the bosses might be that they're easy , and you are right that Chalice Dungeon with an unknown amount of new enemies is going to be the challenge for the long-run as intended i think. It will be a challenge people won't have to go through NG+ for anyway.
you can destroy Gwyn with everything as long as you parry him.You could get through the other games with the starting weapons with no problems. I destroyed Gwyn with a longsword, doesn't mean anything.
Its not slow as in molasses dripping, but comparatively, the two handed version that is anyways.
depends on the stats and your build, you should aim for whatever weapon has a scaling of S (usually when the weapon is upgraded) in the stat that you're focusing on.What would be a good scaling weapon (or stats that would make sense)
I'm interested in what you guys think about spoilers. As in do you think it affects your enjoyment of the game or not?
I'm personally conflicted because my favorite parts of souls game is creating a build that suits my style but at the same time I don't want to know how to defeat certain areas.
It's funny because I see a lot of people switch to the kirkhammer when they unlock that and that's way slower lol. I liked using halberds in DkS and the two-handed axe seems similar to that so it's familiar.
For the preload, will it start automatically if the PS4 is in rest mode?
Or do you have to initiate it or something?
I have the PS4 set up to download everything it can, but not sure if preloads work differently or not.

If you find the game in the library and click on the countdown, then you can set it to auto-preload in rest mode.
I would consider buying Bloodborne digitally if I knew this was a game with huge legs. Can anyone inform me/convince me of this. I have bought 3 games digitally (Destiny, GTA 5, DriveClub) so far and only regret 1 (Driveclub). I like to think that the games I buy digitally are games I would never sale and even if I would consider it would be with at least 18 months of playing it so I would only get around $5 anyway. I wish there was a deal for buying PSN cards right now also. .
What keeps the Soul community striving? Why should I expect longevity with this title? The game looks amazing and so does the lore, but what would make this game a 400+ hour game for people? I truly want to know. Amazon is preparing my shipping for pre-order :[

My 3rd attempt with the 3rd boss in the game, still don't know wtf I was doingwatching the video again though I can see there was plenty opportunities to attack it while it was in a stunned state. This was a rather difficult and very adrenaline pumping fight haha

chalice dungeon seems to add a huge amount of replayability even before you get to the randomly generated ones vs the premade ones in the game. that's on top of what's probably going to be a 40-60 hour main playthrough depending on your play style.
coop is a great time sink as well, you'll really enjoy allowing yourself to be summoned to help other players on their way in their own worlds, its one of my favorite parts.
PvP is there if you were interested too, and it seems like this time around its not going to be decided buy who has the certain armor/ringset build that wins but moreso who is better with their weapons moveset.
Souls games are pretty replayable with NG+
PVP usually keeps most players playing though. The chalice dungeon might throw in an extra dozen of hours as well
so, those who have the game already, how is the framerate? i really dont care much about the graphics since FROM games are usually ugly but the problem is always that they are terrible at some points as well when it comes to performance, did they manage to have a stable framerate this time around or not?

If you need help with this boss, there is aPhantom Summon on the right side of the stairs that lead to the fog gate. You'll need the bell and you need to have met the NPC before. He's the cleric you find somewhere in the area after the cathedral.
Dungeons going by that reddit post are going to be like the Tower of Mirage in Dragon's crown, with crazy bullshit happening even earlier. There has to be a need to catalog unique dungeons for the masses or the recipes serve as seeds for similar dungeons, I think this has to be part of the reason for the delay of the guide.
Is the PVP scene organized or is it I "invade" you (I do not know what invading is) and just troll you or kill you? Is it only 1 on 1? I would love to think of a world populated with hunters who just want to kill each other.
Ah ok, I thought it was weird that themessenger thing popped up about summoningI already beat it and I did
so maybe in NG+ I will try. Thanks for the info.meet that Cleric guy
Haven't kept up with the thread since days now, but has anyone beaten the game yet?

A few people have. After playing for 2 days straight with no sleep.
the community always finds a way to "organize" their own separate fights, however outside of that you can get invaded while trying to summon - I THINK you can get invaded by two at the same time although Im not positive on that.
new mechanic spoiler re: how you can be invaded:
there's a mechanic now with a "bell maiden" who spawns in an area. if you don't find/kill her in a certain amount of time, you'll be invaded. adds to the tension as you're playing through.
Yes, Souls games typically have a very active PVP scene. So it is possible someone could just say "Screw it, I just want to do PVP after I beat this game" and they will be able to do so with willing players easily? Is there ever like 10 players at 1 time just pvping?
all indications are pointing to this is the best performing FROM game on console in recent memory. all drops experienced by ppl who own the game are apparently not very distracting/plentiful compared to how they've been in past games.
The lock on in this game is really wonky sometimes.
@fiddlecub: (Kevin VanOrd the reviewer for Gamespot):
I should take a break. My window is open and I am loudly cursing. On the other hand, that's what my neighborhood sounds like anyway.
Also: " Sometimes, you have to appreciate a game that really goes there. Like, you know. THERE."

from the impressions thread:
He must be talking about Bloodborne. lol
I wonder what's kicking his ass.
