BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

In the Cathedral area go to the huge plaza where two of the giants with the Axes are roaming around. There is an exit 90 degrees from the large staircase which leads to the Grand Cathedral, follw the way and you'll get to that door.

Ah! I kept missing that there was a staircase behind where the priest is. Thanks! Also, how long until it's daylight again? Can I control the day/night cycle at all?

So, tomorrow is the day before the day after tomorrow. That said, to make a long story short, let's all get started playing the s*** out of Bloodborne and look forward to all that fine reviews!!!!

I'm.. ahh.. not doing good with this game. I loved DeS (my fav) and DS, but this one, not sure if I can even finish it. I used to rely a lot on magic, but now it's either git gud with melee combat or go home. I can't even beat the first boss FFS. ;_;

Been playing since yesterday and there are a few rooms I've been to that I have no idea how to go back to. The world is also an enemy in this game. It's a gigantic maze.
Huge lore in BB is present to satisfy Souls fans. Typical Miyazaki goodness it seems. Item descriptions are as alluding as ever. This game is big, and there is a huge surprise how everything connects together at the end, supposedly.
Ive played around 8-9 hours so far and still have the feeling I havent even scratched the surface. Im taking it slow looking around every corner but so far it looks like a huuuuge world. Its amazing, the world design is outstanding if not the best ive ever seen so far in a game...

Thanks, sounds great! Dark Souls became one of my favourite games of all time, totally against my expectations and usual preferences. Looking forward to playing this a lot, but I will refrain doing so until I have finished my studies, hehe.

But the hype got me badly, so I needed some indications to feed my imaginations until I truly experience the game myself (which motivates me to finish my thesis at faster rate as well, I hope ;) ).

I mean usually in the souls game you get the co-op item from npcs, or you just find it somewhere. it just sounded strange that you have to buy them this time around.
but yeah, it doesn't take long to reach 10 points of insight.
You do find the Beckoning Bell lying around early in the game, but I don't recall the exact location. But the Bells to invade (Sinister Resonant) and help (Small Resonant) need to be bought. Sorry for the confusion.

10 hours in, 4 bosses down, 5th (?) boss discovered.
The game is difficult in other ways than DS1/2. Since you don't have infinite Estus, boss runs get broken up by farming (similar to Grass farming in DeS). There are always at least two possible ways to go, sometimes a lot more than that. That helps if a boss fight gets to frustrating, but (at least for me) the difficulty is noticeably increasing.

Also, the Resident Evil 4 like village/graveyard area was amazing. I kept waiting for the villagers to scream "un forastero" or "te voy a matar" ;)

An npc will give it to you after you beat the 4th boss in the cathedral. The npc is just after the courtyard where the 2 giants are patrolling on the way to the door that needs the password.
Thanks. Gonna go school the boss in the cathedral right now. I've leveled up a lot since I last fought it and almost killed it just now without even trying lol.

Are there some new developments making people concerned about the game? Over in the "Is Dark Souls II Disappointing" thread there's a few claims that Bloodborne is worse than DS2 and Yoshichan is expecting this game to be about as good as the original Dark Souls (which is not a compliment coming from him). What's going on?

EDIT: Yoshichan cleared things up. Nothing to see here. The sky is not falling.

Played the first area and got to the boss. Spent like 5 hours here and can't advance. Haven't levelled or anything

Found the
Black Church
set!

It's in the
alleyway past the cathedral gate you have to unlock with the Hunter's Badge or whatever. You buy it for 10K from the bath messengers in HD.

No one in here has had anything bad to say that I remember. From all the streams I've watched it looks amazing.
