BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

Skill or Strength? I'm going FULL BLOODTINGE build. when I get the Chikage everything will die.
before that, uh, guns? I guess.

not but seriously, for early game it's either Skill or Strength, they probably should have added some weapons that scaled better with Arcane or Bloodtinge.

Speaking of which, what are the original Dark Souls stats that Arcane and Bloodtinge serve as analogs for (i.e., Skill --> DEX)? I'm guessing one is Faith, not sure what the other is.

As far as I know they just unlock new things to buy from vendors.

on the previous page someone said you get the badge for the greatsword after killing 2 bosses...I've killed 4 and haven't seen the greatsword yet. the only vendor I can think of are those little ones at the hunters dream though.

Maybe this has been mentioned but has anyone tried Remote Play? If so, how is it?

works fine. L3/R3 on the back, L2 and R2 on the lower edges of the touchscreen. I would have wanted L2 on the trigger, but I guess that can be fixed by using a different control scheme once the firmware update hits.

I have pretty much settled on going skill and starting with the Threaded Cane. It just looks so amazing, especially in whip form. Which will also add some range with speed. It's Castlevania time up in here.

Do any of the weapons even have anything above a C scaling ranking? I haven't seen any upgraded weapons yet.
some of them will get to A or S when upgraded to +10. as far as not-upgraded weapons go, haven't seen a single one with B scaling.

the closer stats would probably be Faith and Int, but they're not the same for obvious reasons. Skill on the other hand is pretty much Dex with a different name.

PS Vita Remote Play Impressions

Being a PS4 title, we naturally had questions about how Bloodborne’s faster combat would translate to PS Vita‘s smaller form factor. I can happily report that FromSoftware has implemented various niceties that ensure a smooth transition from DualShock 4 to PS Vita, including a few clever re-mapping solutions:

After about five minutes of re-training my muscle memory, I was already dodging and counterattacking Bloodborne’s nightmarish beasts with the same finesse and ferocity as I was managing while playing natively on PS4.

You can get it, doesn't mean you will get it. It is on the ground in an optional area that you don't really have to explore to proceed. Don't have the exact directions but here is someone from the previous page that had some:
Yes you can get it fairly early into the game, when the dude at the house in your dreams tells you about the pathway that opened in the Cathedral Ward when you warp there go to the right side and go up the tower, you will find a chest with the hunter badge at the top, this badge will allow you to purchase the sword. Think this opens up after you beat the 3rd boss, so quite early and it costs 20k souls

I don't have the game, just have seen someone get it on a stream. Sorry I can't be more help.

thanks! that's everything I need to know! Though I'm not sure I had that cutscene yet.

I don't remember being warped to a
prison.
I think you get to the
Lecture Library
by completing the area that unlocks when you kill the
bug of the lake.

Trying to think back how I got there, but can't remember exactly.

So for the prison, I died in the cathedral area and got dragged there. As for the lecture building. I got a stone from the people in the buildings at night and it said to go somewhere to the right of the cathedral. I found this area with some sort of bowl/table. This invisible creture grabbed me and then someone started shouting to spare me. I then woke up in the lecture building.

I want this so bad I'd nearly buy it digitally on my US account, play it until my Nightmare Edition comes and start it again on my main EU account. Someone stop me.

Yeah. I just hum simon's theme and whip things across the room.

PM? That's strange that the embargo is so late - isn't that like 2 hours before release here EST?

Yes, it is very strange, and I have no idea why they made it that way. When is the last time a good game was review embargoed this hard? Not a rhetorical question, I really want to know. Doesn't seem like something that happens.

Can't for the life of me find out where to go after killing the witch in world 2. Been all around the world twice without finding a new path. Any hints, or is this it..?

Where is the
witch battle?
I keep seeing mention of it and it's not ringing any bells and I'm decently into the game. Did you fight the
father hunter yet?

Too late for what? Game is not out until Wednesday in EU.

It's 2-3AM in EU. I don't think they have three different embargos, do they? I mean, one for US, another one for EU and another for Japan. That's nearly impossible.

And well, it's just two hours before the game comes out in EST.

Go to the password guy. Cathdral Ward and then to the plaza (with the two big enemies). Take the right exit and then right again through the house. Alfred will stand their and give you the password for the door down there.

7 PM PST translates to Tuesday, 3 AM CET... Damn. I am missing the fun :(

Just wondering. The level design. Is it like Demon Souls where you have a main hub and you warp to the different worlds, or is it all one big interconnected world like Dark Souls?

You have a main hub that's seperate from the main world, but aside from that it's all one, big interconnected world.

At the far end of the
woods area left of the Cathedral with Vicar A fight. You'll go through a village/graveyard area first.

It's like, the perfect mixture of both. You use lanterns to warp back to the hub world (there's no rest/replenish health/respawn enemies bonfire system), but the game world is completely interconnected, and you can walk/fight your way from the first lantern you lit to the latest part of the game you're at.

Sell your nightmare edition

Buy the game with your us account and set primary ps4 on that account

Now you can play with your main EU account!!! I always buy PSN accounts from Amazon
