BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

...Why do the female hair options suck so much. Or rather, why do I suck so much at character creation. I'll have to go to bed before I even step one foot into Yarnham.

Can't for the life of me find out where to go after killing the witch in world 2. Been all around the world twice without finding a new path. Any hints, or is this it..?

Have you been to the forest? Behind the password door near the Cathedral? I was stuck in the exact same spot. If not, there is a staircase behind the Healing Church priest that's hard to see that leads to the door

At the far end of the
woods area left of the Cathedral with Vicar A fight. You'll go through a village/graveyard area first.

Ahhhhhh ok got it. Haven't went that far in that direction. How many distinct areas like the
the woods are there? and where is this place that the lecture building is at? Seems all weird. I'm guessing from the story nuggets I'm getting that there will be a castle.

Ludwigs Holy Blade, got this bad boy up to +6 at the moment with 3 gem slots as well. It's great to finally have a weapon that stuns enemies and not every attack just ignores your attacks :)

How smooth is it's transformation from tiny sword to big sword could you easily stun enemies and swith to you small sword for combos are anything?

I'm hoping someone just posts something good looking by the time I start so I can steal it.

will multiplayer unlock for all regions at once? I got the EU (german) physical version of the game, will I have to wait till wednesday (official release) or can I play online when the game launches in america?

He was obviously kidding.

There's a shit ton of sliders to go through. Thankfully, there are numbers to each, unlike DA:I, but it's still a lot of sliders to adjust.

Can't they give us some pleasant presets for once?

There's 2 or 3 areas. 2 lanterns I think. Haven't been to the lecture building myself.

If you defeat the boss in the prison (maybe it's a monastery?) you'll get a shortcut back to Old Yarnham.

I love how we both played for hours and hours and had vastly different experiences because one of us went left and the other one went right ;)

So no one has yet to get every weapon i guess? If there are
covenant rewards for weapons then i guess people will need to play online first?
Kinda hard to believe that's the case since people who chose to play offline had someway to get those rewards.

Fuck. Should have spoiler tagged.

Dude, did you just post a giant spoiler without spoiler tags??

WTF man?

Was a joke, I have no idea where the final boss is. Deleted regardless, in case I'm some sort of Game Whisperer.

That is nothing you joke about.

Even if it wasnt true, I'm still kinda spoiled now, because I now know that it isn't that.

Deleted, sorry that you're now not sure if it is or isn't. It wasn't my intention to create angst.

Is missing important parts or story elements a frequent possibility? I'm going in with very little known about everything so far, but I would hate to screw myself over by doing something wrong.

thats not how "souls" games work

What if it is?!?!?

..Nobody who knows anything said anything. That was neither a confirmation nor a denial. Chill.

Very little of the story will be traditional narrative. Most of it is told in the space of mythology through item descriptions. There is also other subtle environmental and item interaction cues. The story is pieced together in time. You will get as much out of it as time you are willing to put in.

No worries, I've been playing the game without a guide and have been on a media blackout since TGS. Only asking other players if I get stuck.

There seem to be certain events that trigger what area you'll go to next, but you can always return to older areas. As far as bosses and enemies go, it's par for the course: You'll notice right away if you're in the wrong place ;)

Souls games tend to be pretty light on explicit story telling - more a 'piece things together as you go along'. Reading item descriptions, cryptic NPC dialog, etc.

That said, if it's anything like the other games in the series - it is possible to mess-up optional story-lines/quests without realizing it, kill key NPCs, etc.

It's not like you get a quest journal saying 'fetch X item and return to to Y person'. For example, in Dark Souls 2 - to complete Lucateils questline - had to summon her and have her survive 3 encounters. But, no where in the game is that stated - or even that it infact is a 'quest line' (some NPC summons have no quest line with them).

In Dark Souls 1 - there are multiple ways to mess up Segmyers or Solairs questlines.
