The guy filming it apparently nearly got caught in the middle, so there's a bit of footage missing. You can tell where he stopped and restarted due to the audio changing.

The footage missing is:
Yoda chopping off the heads to two Clone Troopers in one swing.

More Kashyyyk battle footage.

This is what Rick McCallum showed at Celebration III over the weekend. The music is from Van Helsing in case you were wondering.

Hey Mana, d'you make it to Celebration III?

I wish. I could've easily afforded the ticket price, but the travel and hotel fees were fucking insane. Some hotels were trying to charge $400 a NIGHT for Celebration when their regular rate is under $100.

In the end I'm glad I didn't as apparently Gen Con didn't learn anything from Celebrations I and II where the line for the Celebration III shop was SIX FUCKING HOURS LONG and people caught pneumonia standing in line to see Lucas thanks to Gen Con making them line up in freezing rain with 26 degree wind chill.

The impression I get from people was that McCallum's Spectacular (this video) and Lucas' Q&A were awesome, but the rest was a massive headache of frustration.

At least the San Diego Comic Con is never that bad.

I know someone who was with the Droid Builders (they build R2 units exactly like the ones used in the movie) and Lucas, McCallum, and Don Bies (the movie droid builder) stopped by and visited with them for a while and brought the real R2 with them.

Clone Trooper with green jungle camo.

I know, uh, ... someone ... who will be making that armor as soon as Master Replicas gets their plain while and easily painted/modified Clone Trooper helmet out.

Man, now I really hate Yoda. I just can't stand him :( Never really liked him and all this flipping in the new trilogy makes me so sick - an old green midget battling Dark Jedi Masters? Bah.

He ends up crawling on his hands and knees, covering himself up with mud and things like that though too.

These are some of the last displays of bad assness and hopefully the film will convey that certain things take a bit of a toll on him.

Well this wasn't technically in a cinema. This was at a huge convention in a convention hall.

This seals the deal. I'm going to go out of my way to see this on a DLP screen, if only for that opening space battle. It looks glorious.

That and the DLP version has one scene that the film print doesn't have, and it's a cool one for fans of the OT.

Wait, what? I'm so glad there's a DLP screen less than one mile from my place.

Just like the DLP version of AOTC had some minor additions (Padme grabbing Anakin's robo-hand at the end along with some other minor changes), the digital version of ROTS will have an additional scene according to what people were able to find out at Celebration III.

Yoda on Dagobah
will apparently be in the DLP version while it was originally cut from the film version.

The reason they do this (aside from promoting the digital version, which is LFL's preferred way to show the movie) is because the film print has to be locked earlier than the digital. They can work on the digital version something like two or three weeks after the film version has to be locked.

omg omg omg. I managed to (mostly) ignore the gobsmackingly stupid relationship sections of AotC (and the attendent Terrible, Just Terrible Acting) and enjoy the fun bits. The fanservice battles and fights here look so fun, and the space battle especially looked amazing even on a tiny bootleg, although I skipped pieces of the clip to avoid burning out on the cool bits before opening night. As long as Lucas can at least somewhat damp down his hack tendencies I think I'll really enjoy RotS. Or parts of it anyway. :D

Then you must have accidently seen a digital print because in the regular 35mm version you see Anakin's robot hand, but Padme doesn't hold it.

That was the digital version.

For the DVD it included that scene in addition to:
Padme's dialog after Anakin's Tusken slaughter confession.
Padme's "Yes" on the sand when questioned by Clone Troopers was changed to "Uh huh". (this is a change originally put in the IMAX cut)
Sparks coming from Jango's jet pack after being rolled by the Reek.
Jango trying to ignite his broken jet pack before Mace chops his head off.

They did the same thing with the Episode I DVD by adding the extended Pod Race introductions, the second lap, and the air taxi scene.

That was very impressive indeed, shows great promise for the film. Maybe it will indeed be TEH ROXXORZ!? UNPOSSIBLE. Even the way the scenes are shot, it's just different from the other two prequels. I like.

What's up with the strange music + no dialogue, btw?
