From a quick Wikipedia look up, most of the original cast members are retired, doing live action stuff or have completely switched careers. If/when this does come over, I think we can assume we'll get the usual LA or Toronto VA actors. The only way I don't see this happening is if Disney gets it, in which they get to splurge on VA stuff. I'm not saying it'll happen, but Kristen Schall as Chibi-Moon would be peretty good.

Ok, it's the same model for the scouts.... no changes? no middle aged Sailor Moon? .... Just the same?

Rumor says it's a reboot that follows the original manga more closely, not a continuation of what's already happened. Even with time passing the way it has, I don't think any american cable network wants to deal with Sailor Moon Stars.

Well that's disappointing. Thanks for the info though

If it follows the manga that would be perfect. Mean Chibi-Usa will finally not be a joke character and her attacks will do something as well as her new transformation being animated *O*

Also I thought that the Sailor Moon anime was already following the manga?
It follows the basic story but there are a lot of changes like Usagi not being as dumb, the Outer Soldiers not being absent from the SuperS arc, the Amazoness Quartet being soldiers, the Sailor Stars not being as prominent, more violence in general, etc.

Dammit I want to reread the manga :(

Oh you... We all know that Sailor Venus. Is the best one!

It tries to follow the manga outline yeah but it's not the same. The stuff with the Stars being boys turning into magical girls wasnt even in the manga. They only dressed as men not actually turn into them LOL. A lot of differences. Also the fact that the Stars weren't even the main characters in the manga.

I remember hearing the creator herself wasn't pleased with the changes either.

I always wanted a much darker version Sailor Moon. Not black and gritty, but I've always been really interested in how being a hero or fighting evil as a teenager would fuck up your real life. Trying to live a double life, injuries, losing time for studies and a social activity. I always though it would just turn your life into shit and I want to see that. Maybe I'm just morbid.

Another rumor was that it was taking place after Stars, possibly Crystal Tokyo era, which would be amazing.

Makes sense too, given that Mitsuishi's aged. Why shouldn't Usagi?

Actually if you watched the whole thing there are a lot of deaths and betrayal in it lol

I think the first episode of R had Usagi dreading becoming Sailor Moon again. It was pretty sad.

Sounds like you're in luck!

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a brisk 12 episode series that is still 90% magical girl fun and wish fulfillment, but it does go a teeny bit into the toll it might take on a normal teenager.

Also look at how cool that character lineup is! By the time the anime gets to the part where the whole team is standing together side by side like that, it's startlingly emotional.

ALSO it takes three episodes to finally get going, so at least give it until then. I think they're all subbed on hulu, but I know there's a dub floating around somewhere.

That never actually happens.

Japan can't deal with Adults. With their entertainment, there's a very "don't trust anyone over the age of 14" mentality.

Madoka was pretty damn amazing. It's a shame that the two movies were stupid retellings. Those sidestory mangas that take place before the events of Madoka in another city was pretty fucking brutal, I was hoping that would get an animation.

O I C this manipulation.

I didn't enjoy Madoka one bit. I found it to be pretty terrible.

Last few episodes of Sailor Moon, S, and Sailor Stars were pretty dark.

Especially when you watch the undub and uncut after watching years of the dubeed original, lol.

Can't wait for more Jupiter and Venus action. Really hope they don't make dumb Mars into the second in command again. Hate her. Also hope they don't make Venus as weak as she was in the original.

The anime is significantly lighter in tone than either the manga or the live action, which isn't a bad thing at all as the anime is great at what it does, but too many people are only familiar with the anime, and what's worse, the English dub version of it.

At least every episode of the anime doesn't have them doing cartwheels.

Well being self conscious about the opposite sex as a kid and feeling no one would love me like Usagi and Mask loved each other really broke my fragile little mind.

If it's any consolation, those two have serious on/off again issues. Not to mention that I'm pretty sure he's dating a minor at the start of the series.

Usagi's 14, and I think Mamoru's 19.

Mexican dub representin'. Uncut and dubbed straight from the Japanese version.
