The reason I don't like Skylar is because she's one of those people who gets angry at someone and refuses to allow them a chance to abolish this anger. It's one of those things that bug me, and I see it a lot in visual media. When someone says "Wait, I can explain!" and the other person just walks out the door and gets in the car and leaves without hearing the explanation.

If you're angry at someone, and they're really trying to discuss the issue with you and you don't give them that opportunity, you really have no right to be angry at them.

Then on top of everything else, she makes EVERYTHING about herself.

Two things:

1. That's typical of characters in television/film dramas. It offers the opportunity to stretch out the story.

2. More than a few people in real life are like that.

I don't think Skylar is supposed to be a likeable character. I feel like she's just there to illustrate what over-cautiousness and paranoia will react when paired up with Walt's stubborness and pride.

I don't get the hate for Skyler, I really don't. Like..the paranoia that she was completely right about? Her husband was selling METH and murdering people and being a giant asshole and she's sometimes paranoid about the person who's lying to her and that makes her awful? I don't get it. I mean, I guess I could see how someone might not like her in season 1/2-ish where she was pretty much just The Concerned Wife, but I think she's become a really strong character, especially in season 4. I'm not the only one who really loved watching her manipulate people like the locksmith or the audit guy, right?

Right?
