/shrug Maybe for you. But to a casual watcher not attached to any team, or people who had stopped watching for years, all the constant hate and love back and forth, the mass media coverage, and the whole 'them against the world' thing sucked in viewers. Ratings tell the story, it was a fantastic playoffs. Literally every round was really really good. I cant wait to see more.
 
66 games is actually much better than the 82 game season if they insist on the playoffs being over a month long. They need to shorten one or the other.
 
I just got a job at the hotel all the players here stay at and I was bummed I missed out on seeing them.

I couldn't ask for a better present on Christmas, NBA Basketball!
 
I'm on board but this lockout process has left me less hyped. The NFL, we need that. I care less about the NBA now but that should change once the season starts. I said this before, the whole Lebron thing was the best thing that could have happened for the league and this lockout sort of washed that out. It should be back but in full swing of football season. I'm sure fans will be watching a lot of the early games due to hype then numbers will fall to normal levels.
 
It sucks that they probably didn't really lost any fans and goodwill and the first games will be treated as a holiday. NBA is still a very bad business with that many teams.

They have lost fans, and goodwill consistently over the last ten years...as well as quality of product...shoulda nuked it, and started over.

I hope they have the 20 yr old minimum age thing in this deal, having the league full of 1 and done college players you don't know is ruining the game. Remember when the draft was full of seniors and a few juniors...there were 2nd rounders who you were excited about, now its teenagers no one knows and 9 foot tall euro players cause everyone just HAS TO score the next Dirk.

First is was drafting high schoolers because you had to get the next Kobe....

And, there are 5 too many teams in the league.

/rant...enjoy you season of dunks and no defense and the talent being consolidated into 4 teams.

that means that the injunction that the players sought failed, and once it failed they decided fuck a further court case we want money so they took the crappy deal

it didnt mean that, had the battle gone further in the courts, the lockout would have been upheld as legal

Why is it important if already rich people get more money?

Unless it's about something other than money, I haven't been following it just seems silly to me. I'd clean shit piss and blood off walls for millions per year, these guys are doing what they love. Why should anyone feel bad for them?

Who's feeling bad for them? Most people I've talked to say both sides are to blame for this whole mess.

Agreed. The league reeks of immaturity. It shows in how the carry themselves and how they compete. It's made the NBA worse and sadly it's made college basketball worse.

It's amazing what a few years of college can do.
 
I don't even care about basketball. I was kind of hoping they would lock out for 2 whole seasons so fans could move onto better sports.. like soccer.

Are they really going to start in December? I'd honestly just cancel the season at this point since so much has been lost, and it'll be hard to just come back.

Then again, I say this as a hockey fan who remembers 04-05 quite well.
