Yeah, if Scotland is voting near-unanimously to stay in the EU, and UK votes to leave, Scotland's going to leave the UK for the EU.

Id love see the "Stay in" campaign

I cannot imagine what they would be able to say to convince the public not to leave

But it would be fun seeing them scramble

I don't understand how you can say your country will remain the same. This clearly empowers racists and nationalists. It promotes a future of ignorance and fear mongering as a tool for political gain. This might have already been the case before but in the end it is only a hole that keeps getting bigger.

Probably not, because UK wasn't 100% in the EU in the first place, and will likely rebuild all the essential trade deals before making their leave official, making things economically similar between the EU and UK.

If Germany or France left, the EU would be in way more danger.

As I have said earlier. My company, and I assume others, have looked through the alternatives prior to this and have found other cogs to put in place.
It isn't a snap of the fingers. They will have to work overtime to get deals in place and at the same time others have already started to try and make deals that would benefit their countries and have offers standing to take away from the cake that the Leave side thinks to believe will always be there.

Yes please.

I'm okay with this.

I'm completely fine with this. Wales and England can fuck off.

Nordics and Scandinavia. The more the merrier ;)

I am honestly proud of my fellow peeps in the UK. I was a leave voter but I was fully expecting remain to win. I honestly did not think this country had any fucking balls left to vote for leave. I am so glad they have found the balls to do this.

On another note god I would love to see Davey Camerons fucking face right now.

I've been voting Labour for some time despite knowing that I'd be better off with a tory government... mostly because I don't want to see weaker members of society getting fucked over. However, as the weaker members of society seem to have chosen to fuck themselves over by giving the Conservatives even more power, I may very well consider voting Conservative at the next election.

Fair enough. That wasn't what I was suggesting, but if you're somehow sensitive by me saying that the north is more intolerant and a high brexit turnout may have something to do with that, then we disagree.

Yesterday, my Mom (black) said another black person questioned her about where she was from, showing hostility. Immigration, to a sizable percentage of people, has colour. That's what I was talking about.

If you wish to know, I don't think a big percentage of northerners are racist, nor the vast majority of leave voters. But those are who seem to vote leave.

Well at least you admit your ignorance before doubling down on it.

I'm curious, can you explain why you voted Leave?

Please do not let me serve on a jury. I am actually a crazy person.

London is playing a slow game of catch up here. They score big, but that big is still not enough to cover the leave advantage.

Very interesting..

I think UK should dissolve, with England-Wales forming a new country while the remain of Scotland / NI / Gibraltar will inherit the EU membership (until the later figure out what to do),

Absolute truth here.

How do we, the USA, feel about this? Does it even effect us in any way?

Will probably trigger a tumble in the global stock market, so that's not so good.

British politicians will be harping on our 'special relationship' again.

If it triggers more EU defections, it could be really bad news, at least in the short term.

It will embolden right-wing nationalist Trump supporters.

If "leave" truly does win, I'm curious to see the ripple effects. Any other countries considering leaving the EU right now?
Most countries seem to be trending towards right wing governments and tendencies. Its not just the UK.

The question I have is whether this is just a temporary thing or the sign of something more permanent (and probably horrible)?

Spain, Greece, Netherlands all grappling with similar sentiment. Exacerbated by the decline of Schengen due to the migrant crisis, you could see the start of a EU decline.

This is insanely close. That spreadsheet someone linked a while back was fucking amazing. I'm still pretty positive that remain will prevail though.
