Regardless I do hope the Remain side get on note, decisions made, suck it up and dont make it any more difficult.

Morning Quiche.

I think you are now in charge of one of the legendary GAF megathreads!

Not really awake enough to have this sink in yet, but probably I should have put my stock order in on Wednesday.

Morning Phi. Sorry about the exchange rates. Might want to hold off on that order if you can to see if there's a recovery on the pound.

I'm so glad I stayed up. I feel like I just watched history unfold. Wouldn't trade that for anything.

There's a lot of disappointment in this thread right now, but I feel confident and hopeful. There are challenges ahead, but we'll face them and go forward.

Anyway, I'll leave it there for now.

Thanks. I needed the laugh right now.

Scotland is far from having voted 'overwhelmingly' to stay in the EU. I can't see any justification for calling another referendum on their independence.

Some Scottish leaders were just on the news indicating this is exactly what they'll be looking at. And apparently a couple years ago, there was support of 60-70% to stay in the EU. And largely voted to stay in the UK based on the assumption the UK would not leave the EU.

A referendum sounds inevitable in the near term.

Jesus tap dancing christ. What news to wake up to, once it's sunk in I'll have the heart to analyse the results. For now I'm sipping a cup of tea and hoping the economy doesn't crater too hard.

Congrats Leave, you won.
Too late.

So Mr Jaunker

Next time we say we want a new deal, you will listen...

Let's not forget had Cameron's reform been anything offer that pathetic we would of probably voted to remain...the EU had a hand in this

Cameron got the damn agreement he wanted.

You weren't the damn victim, you got special treatment, basically.

What will most likely happen is a very slow Brexit combined with treaties a la Norway that will essentially replicate much of the Eu cooperation.

So I'm going on holiday in like 10 days to a country which uses the Euro.
I guess I better buy the Euros now, 1.2772 is the best rate I can find.

Edit - welp, due to exceptional circumstances we can not take any orders at the moment, normal service will resume at 8am.
I'm fucked.

Scotland didn't call the referendum...

Agreed and if they had said, we refuse to vote as we don't want to leave...would have more sympathy....but they wanted to make Scotland's voice heard...well we heard and still lost...

I don't know any legal reasons if they could of blocked the referedum in Scotland, so I might be talking shit

Don't want to get banned, so I'm going to refrain saying what I really think about the Leave camp but thanks for getting letting the stocks crash. I don't really need that money anyway!

Scariest short term thing to me is if this emboldens white 'pure England'-ers to be openly hostile towards others, on the streets etc. Unfortunately can see a surge of racist incidents in the wake of this.

Can someone help with my questions?

I want to know this too. Nobody is answering anything. Everyone's just going "Well, we're fucked." "Yup. We're fucked." "Yup. UK done. Close thread." "I want to die."

It seems like Neogaf just being typically overdramatic. Like they're too into politics and treating it like it's a game of football or something.

How people can celebrate and wake up happy with the economy tanking is fucking beyond me.

I can already see the movie: the ending of W. (2008), which is George Bush Jr. losing track of the ball he was supposed to catch ('lost the 'eyes on the ball''; great way of showing that concept), combined with the 'Bear bonds drop' scene in The Big Short (2015).
This scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEXF4bYjZbI

In which they are discussing what might happen while it's already happening. This apparently happened for real, according to the movie at least.

It's economic equivalent of Chamberlain's note, an event so big it's still taught today. But apparently nobody learn from history.

So does the UK have any leverage when it comes to the trade agreements it is going to have to negotiate with the EU? I'm not seeing any. The EU is going to come at them with a vengeance.

The UK is a net importer from the EU. They still need each other. The EU's entire goal now is to try and make it seem like leaving is such a bad idea that no other countries try and do the same.

The existing trade agreements will end up getting renegotiated. The EU will appear to take a hard line to continue to justify its existence.

You could say the same thing if remain narrowly won tbh

Gonna take 2 years to negotiate out of Europe, in that time we will still be a part of it with all regulations and such.

I graduate in two years, so I will probably be seeking employment right after the deal is sealed. Hard to predict how the economy or the foreign hiring policies will turn out.

Fucking baby boomers will probably be dead before we see the actual split. That generation is just the worst. Votes should have been weighted for how long you would have to move with the decision, would have had my 16 month daughter it m out too fucking vote.

Im not salty at all... Nope.
