To touch back on the "black friend" post a little while back, it's not as easy as you might think it is to get in good with the fellas. Think of it like a job interview, but with the entire crew instead of one guy. There are exceptions of course which will provide immediate acceptance, like if you saved someone from a beatdown, a bad interaction with an officer (or both), or even chimed in with a well-timed zinger on a crew member and it got enough laughs. But in general, you need to prove yourself useful and/or are able to do some cool shit since all eyes will be on you during the review period.

First time I experience this was when some black kid who was skipping class was talking to his friend in P.E. we were all sitting down waiting for our P.E. teacher. I was in the back near the two, he was speaking in english but yet I understood nothing he was saying. It was like when heard Filipinos kids in our school talk in their language that sounded kinda like spanish but not really. Shit confusing trying to understand what they were saying.
