Bryan Cranston Penning “Malcolm in the Middle” Revival?

Malcolm’s one of the best sitcoms ever made, would be great to see more of it.

Speaking with Fox News this week, Muniz said he would love to revisit the sitcom with the original cast:

“I would love to know what the family’s up to… I know Bryan Cranston is really into the idea and he’s kind of heading writing the script and getting everything rolling. So, there might be something. I would be down 100 percent… we’ll see what happens.”

Why do American's squeeze and bleed TV shows to death...................................... just leave it ffs.

The last couple of seasons of MITM were average.

Why would a revival be good in any scenario?

Friends got it right with their reunion show, a re-boot is always bad.

I shudder at the upcoming Frasier reboot.

I dunno, I think there is value in those carefully constructed ensemble three camera shows. A remembrance special just to have fun could be pretty awesome.

No don't please...

Setting aside reboot fatigue, Malcolm in the Middle is DISTINCTLY 2000s. It has no business being on air in the 2020s

Because audiences love nostalgia and stuff they know more than anything.
Sony/Marvel made almost $2 billion with a mediocre Spider Man movie because "OMG Actor I know from the movies when I was a kid is back!111!!11!!!!!!!"

At this point, I'm expecting everything to be revived. Hey Hollywood, could we get Greatest American Hero on deck?
They tried, right? It had an indian (?) woman in the lead IIRC.

I mean Cobra Kai is awesome and that's a reboot.

Cobra Kai isn't a reboot, it is a straight sequel. It does revisit the OG film themes a lot, but unlike the most recent KK (recasting Miyagi and Daniel as different characters but keeping the same basic narrative structure), it is in no way a reboot.

oh, well then I use Battle Star Galactica as a reboot that is awesome. But the OP said he's working on a revival, didn't say reboot. i didn't read the article, just what is posted.

It's ego, money and low effort because there is a fanbase. Same with Hollywood, nostalgia dollars.

They could pass the torch and have a new cast and acknowledge the previous characters. Making original content should be the first priority.

Any value in this is for the show to pick up 20 years later but it also fucks it up since the cast would be living separately by now. And they'd have to pick someone to revolve the show around. Meaning everyone else would be relegated to cameo roles.
