The licence Bubble Bobble will also pass to make a turn on Nintendo DS with the advertisement today of Bubble Bobble Revolution, to appear on the console with double screen for October in Europe. The editor proposes this first image resulting from the play to us, which should obviously make profitable the vocal and tactile capacities of the console.

this looks nice, but wasn't it already announced once?

and hmm, i don't know how i feel about it only showing a portion of the map at once.

Bubble Bobble on the original Gameboy worked like that. I thought it worked fine, but I don't think that was the majority opinion.

The shiny look on the sprites is terrible. Apart from that it's great news, I spent so many hours on the C64-version.

"Bubble Bobble Revolution (NDS):

An update of the much-loved arcade classic for Nintendo's ground-breaking handheld, bringing the series into the modern age with a host of novel DS-specific features and a revolutionary competitive multiplayer mode. Arriving early October."

and

"Rainbow Islands Revolution (NDS):

The revolution continues as yet another legendary Taito title gets its much-demanded update. Featuring a totally revolutionary control system, making the most of the touchscreen capabilities of the Nintendo DS, there's going to be a host of new ways to paint those islands with rainbows in November."

and

"Bubble Bobble Evolution (PSP):

Following in the footsteps of its NDS cousin, Bubble Bobble Evolution takes the classic gameplay of the original to remarkable extremes in a truly unique update of the bubble-popping arcade legend, coming in February 2006."

Rainbow Island Revolution!

This will rock if it's the same basic game as RI, but you draw the rainbows instead of "shoot" them with a button

Looks a bit more like Snow Bros. Than Bubble Bobble..

I don't have a problem with that. Snow Bros. is what turned me into a gamer. :lol

I hope they implement that move where you get close to an enemy, blow a bubble at him, then immediately turn around to make him explode. Fruit +1.

Dude now that you mention Snow Bros...I was looking around to try to get a copy of that game because it was one of my favorites and it was like $50 on Ebay! That's insane.

Regardless Bubble Bobble was one of my old school favorites as well, and I do own it on the NES. Still.
