got it free with ps+ uk, played it again after a few years and didnt like it at all. i can see what they were trying to do but it didnt work for me at all, too much of a step away from the previous games

Fantastic game. Too bad I have the 360 version, and no Island :(. I'm gonna play this again, sooner or later.

I already have the game on disc but every time i try and play it I get an error. i tried asking EA and Critierion and get no help from either. im not gonna spend money on something im not sure will even work and I already paid $60 for

$8 is about right for the worst entry in the series.

Such a disappointment. Hot Pursuit was more Burnout than Burnout Paradise.

So it's a game for stoners?
Stoners, drunkards and speed freaks ;P

I can definitely understand why some didn't like the open world aspects, but it grows on you over time. When you've actually learned the layout of the city it becomes pure bliss, but yeah, that requires some investment.

Its also the only game I've double dipped on. Have the disk version the 360 and downloaded on PS3. Can't see why some say the PS3 version is better - they both perform perfectly. I'm actually tempted to triple dip and just get it downloadable on the 360 as well.

It gives you money?

Better on PC.

Ban avoided.

Except for the fact that EA decided against releasing Big Surf Island on PC. I've played the base game to death so I'm tempted to go for this offer even though I own the base game on Steam.

I have a poor sense of direction and get lost in games like this easily. I had a miserable time with the few times I've spent with this. I can fully appreciate why people enjoy the game so much, but for me it was entirely miserable time spent.

Great price for those interested in it, however!

Loved it so much. Sadly, I won it in a contest and Criterion got none of my money for it.
If I do end up triple dipping, you can just think of it as me subsidizing your enjoyment if you'd like. Easy karmic balance.

The game is at it's best when you're just free riding, the races can be a drag for the reasons you mentioned. It's worth the price of entry just to buzz around the city in a sweet car and hit jumps/crash into shit. I think you'll enjoy Paradise if you're into sandbox games and making your own fun, but if you want a straightforward racing game you may want to look elsewhere.

I was tempted to pick this up during the 'Welcome Back' program, but then noticed it's only temporary >:(

Is it REALLY wrong that I still haven't played a single Burnout game?

Like, not even from the PS2/Xbox/Cube era?

I picked up the PS3 disc version for a song at Blockbuster recently, but I will definitely get Big Surf Island, as it's a wonderful game. Even though I wasn't sold on the open-world roaming and I still feel like linear silos work better for arcadey racers, it's still jawsome an a gorgeous 60 FPS.

Hated the game when I first played it and quickly traded it. Then when it was released on PSN I figured I'd give it another go. So happy I did. Ended up loving the game. Got the Platinum trophy for it.
The online is simply brilliant, even if you only have a couple of friends to play with. So many fun challenges to take on that are specific to the number of people on your party.

Eventually I bought all of the DLC too, with the exception of the Toys. I'll rectify that tonight. The one pack I'd avoid buying if you are new is the Cops and Robbers. It never really seemed to click.

The racing is shit in my opinion, but the driving around just for the hell of it is unmatched. $8 is a nice price.
yea, that was my problem with the game. The racing is pure shit which is what i thought was supposed to be the main component of the game.
