Like none of you have ever made enemies with a teacher/professor. Maybe the teacher was a jerk. Darien is right.

I don't care much for Bush, but this proves little.

I do agree with that.

But, it's still hilarious. It's not hard to believe that stuff if it is true though. I always thought of Bush as one of those tobacco chewing redneck assholes.

Wasn’t the problem supposed to be that Bush didn’t give a goldang?

I don't see anything particularly out of character for Gdub in those statements. They're stupid shallow arguments with no basis in reality. Sounds like par for the course to me.

Bush went to both Yale(undergrad) and Harvard(mba).

Dammit, someone pay attention to me! Did Bush not go to Yale!?
Yeah, didn't Bush go to Yale and Gore went to Harvard with Tommy Lee Jones?

[edit] Oh.

many Kerry voters don't support him, they just don't like Bush.

The situation can be reversed I'm sure, someone hates Kerry so they'll vote for Bush (Pat Buchannan comes to mind, who is constantly criticizing Bush, but is going to vote for his "lesser of two evils"

By voting for someone you are supporting them. The very act of giving someone your vote is "supporting" them. Everything else = reasons for your support.

Yeah it's not like voters are required to promote their candidate around friends, donate money, or whatever. The only kind of support that matters is the vote.

People saying: "Oh I can't believe I always put myself in a position defending Bush" are all voting conservative.

I just remember defending Bush back in 2000 when it was the 'in' thing to say "BUSH IS TEH STUPID."
But with these events and his decisions, I don't know why someone would go on defending him, perhaps misinformation and denile.

I did some pretty stupid shit 20 years ago too, I hope it all doesn't come back and bite me in the arse in an equally useless and petty way.

As long as you don't become president.

You said in one of the threads where people declare who they are voting for that you are going to vote for Bush. I have no problems with your comments, but stop saying you are not a Bush supporter . By declaring that you will vote for him you are a Bush supporter .

Honestly, I probably won't vote period. I was just saying, if I had to vote, it would be for Bush. My reasoning for this is based upon the fact that I would choose the chaos and evil of Bush over the mediocrity of Kerry. So, I guess, in the strictest sense you could say I'm a Bush supporter...only as far as I would support him over Kerry though.

My favorite passage from the Kelly book was his lexical error in an essay about the death of his sister (borrowed liberally from slate)

Page 253: At Andover, George W. Bush writes a morose essay about his sister's death. Searching for a synonym for "tears," he consults a thesaurus and writes, "And the lacerates ran down my cheeks." A teacher labels the paper "disgraceful."

The article is an interesting read, but all this shit that happened in the 70's is irrelevant. Bush has a presidential record now that people can look at and judge. If his mistakes aren't enough for you to vote him out, you deserve the shitty prospects that another 4yrs of Bush may bring.

You have to understand that Harvard(as well as Yale) back in the 70's was still an old boys club and so it is unsurprising that Bush was walking around touting Daddy. Legacy and influence back then meant WAY more than it does today.
