This is my first post on the off-topic forum. So, I thought I would kick it off with a thread about something that really concerns me.
I'm 26 and I will be SS eligible in the year 2046. There is no doubt in my mind that the SS program will be long gone by that time. The baby boomers hitting retirement in the next decade are going to put one of the greatest strains on the government in the history of the country. Between Medicare and SS, the US will be putting an enourmous burden on us yougin's with the social programs that have been set up because we will be paying for them.
I really like Bush's proposal. I think its only fair. Its one of the main reasons why I supported him in 2000 and again in 2004.
What do you think?
