Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare PC Performance Thread

I have no real insight, but does he have the newest drivers? If he does maybe go back to an older one?

I think he tried this, but I'll tell him to try again.

Verify the files.

Unfortunately he did do this, but it had no effect.

Thanks for the input though. We're gonna try swapping my AMD into his pc tonight to see if it has the same problem. I joked around with him that he's going to have to reinstall windows.

Downloaded the new drivers and it made no difference with my SLI performance...I rolled them back and reinstalled 344.60. Still no cigar..still getting single GPU performance.

I checked my GPU load readings in Nvidia Inspector and it showed my second GPU is pretty much not being used while my other GPU is under 99% load.

Anyone else having these issues?

Did you try uninstalling your drivers with DDU and then reinstalling the most recent drivers?

Dunno if this is the right place to ask but

my "brother", with whom I am sharing game library (Steam Family Sharing), has bought this game yesterday. 24h passed, he played the game a little but I still don't see CoD:AW in his library and I can't download or play it. Why is that?

If it is really good (although competitive is hopeless I bet) I MIGHT get it, but I will never ever buy another CoD before testing it first

It doesnt support Family Sharing

Finally downloaded and got this set up so forgive me if this has been mentioned (did have a skim through and didn't see anyone bring it up) but some of the UI elements have issues with scaling and position unless rendered at 1920x1080.

So here's the baseline 1920x1080.
15718469125_6cc618d341_o.png
Note the position, angle and distance between the ammo and grenade counters.

Now here's 2560x1440.
Hmmm seems pulling down and across to the right slightly.

Now here's 3840x2160.
Yikes that's quite a difference.

Finally for shits and giggles here's an AR corrected 1360x1080 Xbox Oneified shot to 1920x1080.
Which due to a smaller horizontal resolution it ends up getting squished together.

Tried setting the aspect ratio to both Auto and 16:9 but happens regardless. So unless I'm missing something here the UI isn't fully using relative positioning.

Oh also Filmic SMAA? Blurgh!

Shadow of Mordor must be a real hard nut to crack.

Damn forgot about that one. Game was too short anyways and one time deal for me so doubt I'll revisit it when they get the SLI profile up.

CoD running smoothly but every 2-3 second of the beginning of an online game and it stutters. Anyone else?

I heard that the game driver is included in AMD's Catalyst driver version 14.9.2 beta but I cant update my 7790 to that version despite downloading and installing it. The catalyst version is still 14.7 after restarting and installing the driver multiple times.

Getting lots of crashes with this game, some are blue screen jobbies.

All drivers up to date.

FX-8350 black @4.0ghz
GTX-580oc 3gb
8 gig Corsair ram

Running the game at 1080p with most options on high.

I'm playing on pc with a controller and it's surprisingly easy to hit airborne targets with assault rifles and aim assist.
Must be a metric ton of aim assist then. I wonder how I would do with a gamepad online.

Is it me, or is the SMAA in this game really blurry? Will SweetFX get you banned?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but, Advanced Warfare crashes my PC like a bastard.
I'll be playing, then my PC completely locks up and I have to do a hard reset... Once it's frozen the sound still plays though, which is weird.

This has happened on other games too, but not enough to be an issue - with Advanced Warfare it happens once every hour (on average).

It's not my temps, they're always quite cool - Ram came up fine on a test, SSD seems fine as I don't ever have an issues with it.
Any ideas Gaf?

Feel free to tell me to piss off to another thread

When you alt+tab out and then go back in the game freaks out. It starts double rendering or something. There's a ghosting of other parts of the map on the screen. Only way I can get rid is by restarting the game =/

I'm on an old Radeon 6870. Even at all lowest settings the game still dips down into the 30s at times. Time for a 970 I suppose. At least I haven't had any crashes.

You using SLI?

I am and I get the same. Didn't happen when I was running it on one GPU.

Better sli scaling needs flag 14 but it breaks motion blur. You can force #14 and disable motion blur.

Thanks. If I may ask an annoying follow-up question, does that mean replacing the "f" in the current compatibility bit with an "e"?

Hi guys,

Need some help here. Just installed the game, and it's running like a complete slog. R9 270x, 4 GB ram here. Goes upto 100 fps and down to 30-20-10 even for seconds and back up again. Massive stuttering throughout. Is my 4 GB ram to blame? It DID tell me I was low on memory when I booted up the game.

Also, whenever I change the graphic settings, it closes and reboots from the first cutscene which takes ages to load fully.

Any help would be appreciated here.

Your not alone, It still does it for me, and I'v been doing some digging on the Nvidia 344.60 release drivers on the nvdiia forums and nothing but nightmares for most.

There saying that all Nvidia did was add a Sli profile for COD that people already had a work around for, no performance increase or anything. And to top it off it's made some fo the stuttering people are experiencing worse.

So your not alone, the freezing during changing your settings and rebooting the game back up happening to me too.

Setup:MSI OC 770 GTX.

I'm really liking multiplayer and it is running better than I thought. But the beginnings of matches cause my FPS to drop to around 10-20 for the first 5 or 10 seconds. After that, however, It is smooth sailing!

This is appalling.

I will try running this in borderless now. Can't sit through that opening cutscene again. Had to watch it 4 times already.

Even after Nvidia drivers I'm getting turd performance sometimes. Stutter central. I'm not even supersampling. There seems to be no pattern to it - sometimes the stuttering stops, sometimes it stays with me the whole level. High framerate followed by second-long hangs is terribad.

Oh man I got it to stop hitching like crazy during loading. I changed the refresh rate to 75 hz and now it appears to run perfectly.

I've come to the conclusion that it's an unoptimized, piece of shit port.

i5-4690K OC'd @ 4.4GHz, 8GB RAM, Gigabyte G1 970 and I'm also having random issues that come up out of nowhere.

I was running fucking Alien Isolation maxed, with DSR at 60 FPS locked.

So I decided to investigate after I noticed that I was also getting stuttering in single player.

I guess the new drivers set the Nvidia Recommended option for SLI to AFR 1.

Switched back to single GPU and its running with far far farrrrrrrrrr less stuttering. I bet it would be a lot smoother if I put the resolution down from 4K too.

Not sure if it has been mentioned just in case if other people are fed up with the stuttery nonsense!

So the cutscenes still lose audio sync after each new mission for me... is everybody else still getting this? Reloading a mission from the main menu always fixes this but it is damned annoying.

Yeah, it's especially annoying because you can't skip the cutscene the first time through. Load times take forever due to that.

My gf's computer only has 4GB of system RAM and the game is basically unplayable. You need more than 6GB of system RAM basically.

Turn off shader preload and the loading should hasten significantly.

Hey guys, i have a massive problem running this game and i don't know why. i see plenty of people with lower specs running the game silky smooth.

I have a fairly decent system:
4670k
8gb vengeance pro
msi 980 twin frozr
etc...
Im running the game downloaded from steam and off my 7200rpm toshiba 1tb HDD

I doesnt matter what settings i try, in the nvidia control panel and the in game settings, i cannot get this game to run anywhere near consistently.

Right from the very start, the title logo screen, the game stutters and freezes and the audio does the same. The main menu lags like hell, including the cinematics in the background.
The opening cutscene of the campaign is an unwatchable mess of stuttering and huge lag in both video and audio.
When i finally start the game, even with low or med settings i get stuttering and lag to the point where its unplayable and downright unenjoyable.

Its so frustrating because i dont get these issues with any other games and i dont see anyone else with these issues in this game with similar or lower spec PC's.

I have tried the obvious fixes like turning off shader cache and pre-load stuff etc etc... but no joy! I have also tried running in borderless window mode which helps with the stuttering but messes up my vsync and i get horrendous screen tearing, again, unplayable mess!

Please someone help because i really want to play the game but its like im running it on a pentium 4 with a gt210 and 1gb ram!
