must be wild thinking your opinion is the only one that's right.
I agree with him though. I don't understand what people are enjoying about it. It's got me baffled, I actually don't even know how people are playing it?

It's like looking at everything through a telescopic lens zoomed right out. I knocked FOV down to 80" just to see anything and I'm still massively struggling with seeing anything past about 10m. So far as I can tell, most people are just sliding and shooting in the direction they expect someone because how they can even see so far into the distance is beyond me, and I'm gaming 1.5ft from a 34" ultrawide. God knows what you can see on a TV. Weapons are meh and the map design has a minimum of 3 potential LOS wherever you are which, given how fast the game moves and the maps so small, you are just getting caught in constant cross fire.

It feels like a barely visible mess. I would borderline go so far as to say it's the least appealing MP game I've ever played and I legit cannot understand what people are enjoying about it?

Other niggles;

Everytime I left the Lobby I had to deselect all Core modes in Filter to access HC modes. Why? Did I miss something? Is there a way to get it to default to without Core modes? No idea.

Had an error where it wouldn't show anything on sfreen except telemetry; just black screen, but screen came up when I hit escape for menu, then disappeared again when I went back into game. Rebooted, now it worked, but all the icons for Tactical, Lethal, Killstreaks etc were just boxes. Whatever.

Have some friends maybe I will struggle try and salvage playing the game with (its gamepass so at least I didn't buy it) but yeh, I'm at a complete loss to understand how anyone can say they enjoy it.

Edit - Having been away from COD since maybe the first Black Ops on 360, I have found myself addicted to the multiplayer of MW3 and can sit and just play it for hours where I don't normally bother with MP except for L4D2 so having gotten back into COD for the first time in a decade, I was actually looking forward to getting into BO6 at launch, but it's been the most disappointing thing I've tried in gaming for a very long time.

Single player however, is really good.

Not knowing what to expect from the PS4 version of black ops 6 it surely plays fine, when playing team death match on subsonic I didn’t feel the need to upgrade to next generation but that could only be me.

So little over halfway through with the campaign and I'm very much enjoying it. The tone is all over the place but if I'm correct about where it's heading then kudos to Treyarch for going there hah. Wild stuff.

That open-zone mission with the SAS was kind of a chore though and really shows that CoD's AI (especially that of your allies) still has a loooong way to go when left to its own devices in non-linear levels.

Don't get the complaints about the visuals though with people saying it's an "obvious cross-gen game". On PC with all the bells and whistles on max at 120fps? Game looks great! The fidelity of macro and micro detail is impressive, especially considering how smooth it runs and the fact that it's not on bloody Unreal like half the industry seems content to use nowadays. Further I actually think it's a strength of the engine that it's so scaleable and can run on ancient hardware as well as shine on the latest piece of tech (though I do wonder when Acti finally stops supporting the OG PS4 and XBO with the CoD franchise. Can't imagine that there's still that much money left on the table there?).

Also, regarding the easter egg in the mansion: I've just done the piano > bunker > vault thing but is that the only reward you're supposed/able to unlock or what?

That's exactly what you've said, you could've just said you don't like it, but if you don't have a clue how everyone else can enjoy this, then those who do are just crazy and wrong.
That’s what you’re reading into it. I have no clue how people can enjoy it because somehow this game manages to look and sound worse than previous CoD games. CoD games that were made in less time. I guess they put all their resources into developing onmi movement because they sure as hell didn’t spend 4 years on designing those maps. Like I said, if you like it then go ahead and enjoy it. I’m just stunned right now that there isn’t a single map that I enjoy as much as Armada, Checkmate or Crossroads. I think this game is a gigantic, blurry looking clusterfuck of people jumping through crossfire coming from all directions. But that’s just my opinion. If you’re into that more power to you.

you got an achievement.
Aw okay. Felt like the result of that entire segment felt a bit lacklustre if I'm honest as it seemed like it was alluding to more threads to uncover. Was hoping there was going to be a story related revelation or something.

nah, that's what you said, it would be the same as if I said I don't have a clue how anyone could hate this game, just an insane opinion to hold, because I do have a clue, it's called people liking different things for all kinds of different reasons

You could've just said this instead of extending it to anyone but yourself

Who are you to determine what’s insane?
don't say crazy shit if you don't like being called out on it 🤷‍♂️
I’m done wasting my time with you.

If I get the game on Steam at some point will it recognize all the achievements I've already gotten in the game? I know some titles do that (or retroactively) but was wondering if going from Gamepass to Steam with CoD would also do that.

Anyway I'm old. Played ever COD made.

Noobs get served. It's always been the rule.

Christmas noobs for life. Hell I've probably killed most of you lol.

I think it looks better than MW III on PS5 at 120 FPS.

Resolution looks worse on Series X compared to MW III at 120fps. Although kind of expected given the increased level detail compared to the last game. I’ve been switching the 120hz mode on and off. Everything looks so sharp at 60hz, but motion detail is so much better at 120hz when moving around quickly.

Had zero intention of picking this up but Black Ops is my favourite in the CoD series and Treyarch is my favourite team (I know it's a joint project with Raven). Will be mostly for the campaign and zombies though the last MP to really grab me was BLOPS3 so who knows, decisions decisions.

Man to each their own but this MP sucks. Been forever since there has been a good CoD MP game imho. Per usual I will play for campaign and zombies.

At least there is a good MP shotgun this time around, at least until everyone learns the maps and it’s pointless to use one.

I’ll also hop back into MP once Nuketown is back. CoD used to use strategy and skill now it’s just balls to the wall mindless turbo action, so might as well wait for the best map.

This game without a doubt looks worse than the last few visually on the Series X. I wonder what’s happened here, it’s a very noticeable downgrade from pretty much every current-gen CoD title.

The game needs a few bigger maps because those could provide a bit of a break if you are doing a long session... with the size of the current maps there is no down time, have to be on it 100% of the time, at least that's how it feels to me if you are actually trying to win games.

The campaign is legit brilliant imo, has a ton of variety so far (5 missions), one second it’s all out war and then it’s like a James Bond flick and then it’s like Metal Gear Solid. Positively surprised. Love the openess of it all, there are so many tools and tactics available.

They need to fix the bug when you get into a match that’s already started and you can’t look around while it displays the map and game type but people can still kill you. Very strange.

Been playing a little bit, mostly Gunfight... which... okay I remember Black Ops Cold War Gunfight mode being kind of shitty but this seems worse. I don't agree with the map design at all, too much hide and seek style gameplay, not enough... well.. gunfighting. And UI stuff is annoying, half the time it won't show me the loadout during the countdown... even when it does it spends most of the time telling me what my record on the map is and average damage and whatnot. Not what I'm looking for. For that matter, you don't see your damage output during the game, so really hard to figure out if your random teammate is contributing.

Didn't play the sequels at all but Modern Warfare Gunfight was just much better. Though the DLC maps were a lot worse than the originals and had the backwards design philosophy. Just bizarre to me that this mode hasn't improved.

The moment-to-moment gunplay is pretty good. Movement is very very nice, game runs super smooth. My other major complaint I suppose, and this is also not too new to COD but I've had a few years off and it was immediately frustrating, the super low semi-auto rate caps. Just feels bad having half your clicks ignored. Semi-auto is now just 'super slow firing'. I get that there were always problems with rapid-fire mods, but semi-auto's were always among my favorites... like the FAL in Black Ops 2 was absolutely glorious. Kind of along the same lines, as launchers come up in Gunfight frequently... the whole firing delay just feels bad. Not a fan of that design, I want the rocket to shoot when I click, if I'm not ADSed then a big hipfire spread is fine...

I just got to level 20 I also finally dug myself out of my huge k/d ratio, trying to relearn and adapt to the new games speed. I’m now in the positive. I have one more loss than wins.

I’m having a blast.

I just finished the campaign and I think it’s the best one since Infinite Warfare and may even be better than that one. It’s easily the best Black Ops campaign since BO2. It’s in my top 5 COD campaigns now along with MW1 (original), BO2, Advanced Warfare, Infinite Warfare and now this.
