Call of Duty: Black Ops III |OT| No Content For Old Gen

I downloaded an update on ps4 today when I tried to connect to a multiplayer match and the game runs much better. I have been playing online for the past hour and has not noticed any lag or hiccups at all. Before I was having a lot of lag

The lag will be back. It depends on other factors than updates. The lag has been coming and going every half day-or-so.

I have not had a chance to check Gun Game out yet, but are the guns random every match or is there just one set list that you work through every time? I loved when BO2 randomized it...

KN-44 and Man o War are 2HKs with one headshot I think, so they can kill fast with good aim too. Weaker ARs won't be as fast as the aforementioned ones. My friend claims the Shieva is a one shot kill to the head with High Caliber, but I don't believe that.

The shieva does 1HK to the head with HC. It was like this in the beta

Drift0r did a piece on this in the beta.

So technically the black cell can kill an attacker. I got a kill when I shot that launcher at the robot in safeguard and someone was too close to the robot at the time, and it killed them.

Is it just me or are the specialist abilities useless? At least in TDM they are. They all seem super weak compared to specialist weapons.

The Dredge is absolutely monstrous. I thought the Gorgon was the most powerful LMG in the game until I used the Dredge. My mind may have been changed. Apparently even pro players are saying Dredge might be a go to weapon for competitive. The TTK is insanely quick all almost all ranges if you are accurate.

I love that weapon.

I've had a pretty lag free experience on PS4 so far, but tonight, all my match ping times have been spiking into the 400+ms. It's not consistently bad, but just constant spikes. Anyone else seeing this? It's unplayable.

Holy shit at the Argus... What the hell was I doing with that neutered KRM that whole time? I'd completely stop using it if I didn't need just two more camos to be done with it.

So, what's the general consensus on Black Ops III? Bought AW last year, appreciated the change, but didn't enjoy the multiplayer. The last COD I bought and had fun with was the first Black Ops. I'm hearing good things with this year's installment. What's GAF think?

Planning to get this after I scratch that Bloodborne itch with the expansion. Hoping to get it at a decent price if I decide to jump in.

It has a lot of content, but the performance in some spots isnt so good. If you don't mind that, i'd give it a pick up

I hated Ghosts and Advanced Warfare but am enjoying Black Ops III. Would have preferred exo suits to be permanently removed but it's not so bad in this game.

Since unlocking Scythe and switching over I'm averaging around 3+ k/d per game. I feel a lot more monstrous than previously. It's just so much fun to use.

This is driving me nuts. Two matches in a row, close Nuketown domination games, and I look at the scoreboard to see the opposing team with seven players.

This has happened plenty of times and it's just ridiculous.

TTK is just too damn low for me. Multiplayer has its moments but for the most part it's a frustrating experience.

How do you guys think this game would play with more health? I know fans love low TTK for some reason, but I still dream of playing COD with MW1 TTK.

I heard that Ghosts had a mode where health was bumped up by 30%. I sort of hope we see an experimental playlist like that, because I think this game could be a lot of fun with higher health. I love the idea of chasing enemies, focusing on headshots, and using the various mechanics to make certain kills.

Seeing so many people opting for spray-ey guns when weapons like the SVG, P 06, Haymaker and Argus exist makes me sad.

Just finished the campaign.

Good gosh, what the fuck?! I was pummeled brutally for 10 or so hours with some of the most horrendous writing and voice-acting, laced with an incomprehensibly terrible plot. What the hell, Treyarch? I've sat through some bad writing in games, but damn, this takes the cake. Excuse me while I go and get a drink and forget this. Utter nonsense. The plot makes Genisys look tame by comparison.

I'm forcing my way through it for achievements but I'm starting to wonder if I should be doing something else instead..

Buggy-ass piece of shit trash campaign

Just wasted like an hour and a half on the fourth mission on Realistic. Glitched during the hacking room, managed to unglitch it by having my friend disconnect and reconnect to the party.

Glitched again soon before entering the boat. Couldn't unglitch anymore because we were inside the turrets and couldn't kill ourselves.

Thanks for ruining the night, Treyarch.

I wouldn't mind trying out a mode with more health, could be pretty interesting.

What sort of performance problems? Depending on the severity of certain problems, I can usually let that slide. My main concern is with the multiplayer.

Yeah, wasn't a fan of the exo suits. The multiplayer felt like to much of a clusterfuck. I was watching some Black Ops III gameplay and it doesn't seem as chaotic. Looks like wall running is only useful for getting to certain areas of the maps. A lot of people tend to die when wall running, unless you're uber good. Game seems like it's more boots on the ground compared to AW.

I do miss Momentum from AW. That game mode was just insanely fast paced and I loved it. It was the Nuketown of game modes.

Haven't tried Safeguard yet but I guess it might be similar with everyone going to one point.

And what is the deal with the map randomization? I have played the same map 3 times in a row. Now it seems you play the same map at least 2 times in a row all the time

I think I'm in the minority here but I really liked the exo mechanic in AW, at first it was hard to learn but once you get the hang of it, it was very smooth and made trekking half the map somewhat fun.

I like Black Ops 3 right now (still not in the same comparison as Black Ops 1 or 2) but I am not a big fan of the Wall Running, as it is used more as a positioning tool than actual firefight advantage.

Even with the implementation, more people are opting for the camping route and slaying than actually wall running (which I find pretty sad) but we'll see it's been only out for about a week.

Also, that huge nerf to suppressors is complete garbage.
