I think the discussion of people loving very different guns (and even different guns in very different classes) shows how the game has been pretty expertly balanced.

no, seriously.
that gun is ridiculous.

It's not even the most OP SMG in the game. I feel like the VMP is just as good, and same with the Kuda. The Kuda's range is crazy.

The MP40 was probably the most OP gun in COD history. That or the Cod4 M16. MW2 UMP was also up there, same with pre-patched models.

if only the stats in this game would be as good as they were in black ops 1 and I could check which gun killed me the most, I'm a 100% sure it is the vesper.

I struggle with whether or not my tactic in TDM is *actually* good for the team or not.

An example:

As I mentioned before, I tend to play with SMGs and go for mobility over turtling. Ok, so far so good, as long as I'm playing TDM and keeping a relatively positive impact on the team.

BUT I also try to untrench turtles. What this means is that (for example, in the monorail level) I'll often swim all the way across the map and try to clean house through the back (people love sniping from the cabins on each side of the map). That works well for three or four kills, but it does often also have the result of throwing the spawns into disarray or flipping them altogether. Now, in some situations where the sniper is getting scorestreak after scorestreak, I do think it's a very valid thing to do. Making a sniper feel NOT safe on his backend of the map is a good thing.

But... is the impact in spawning, and potentially throwing the team "off" worth it, typically?

I find that both dont really need rapid fire... a laser sight and extended mag/fast mag and you're good to go IMO.

The Weevil clip is large enough that you can deal with most any situations before reloading, IMO, and its stopping power is low enough that having the extra bullets helps in some situations.

I'm still playing around with my preferred setup, though. Might drop the rocket launcher and a frag grenade to add another attachment.

Trying the Pharo but find it harder to get kills with then the Vesper. Maybe it need Rapid Fire. I'll try to unlock that and see how it goes.

I think the Famas and M16 with the Holo were better than the UMP. I never got the UMP hype. The pre patched models were definitely the best tho. MP40 yea, probably. MP5 is good in cod4.

Vesper is definitely better than Kuda at closer ranges where the higher fire rate makes a huge difference.

Also I am not sure why anyone would use laser sight, the spread while moving is still far too much that you won't get enough hits in the time it takes someone to ADS and kill you.

Haymaker is probably the best hip fire gun because of the spread, think it's better without the laser sight even. The fire rate is still far too slow and loses to pretty much any SMG if they can bring up the ADS on you quickly enough. Not having to ADS is pretty much the only advantage the Haymaker has over SMGs.

I think Vesper is one of the best guns in the game, I would probably be even better with it if I had the confidence not to reload since you can drop someone with a little less than half a clip regularly.

True but i find the Weevil benefits from ample spraying while in constant motion... the Pharo uses far fewer rounds to deliver the same effect. I dig em on both personally.

I'd expect this to be true on PC, but with enough movement and close-quarters tactics ADS on a controller can't handle the speed fast enough to track-and-kill before the non-ADS SMG can fire enough bullets to get the job done.
It's true, not ADS-ing means missing several shots, but the point is to adapt the approach to the maps and to encounters to that fact. I'd never try to have a straightforward stop-and-pop encounter with the Weevil + laser sight setup.

Maybe I was just off but the vesper felt off today and I was getting crazy hit markers, felt like it got nerfed even though I'm pretty sure it didn't. I switched to the vmp after 3 bad rounds and did much better. I just unlocked the pharo but haven't used it yet but I'll be trying it later tonight, I normally hate burst guns but this gun seems popular

Yeah on PC the character movement isn't nearly fast enough. I managed to get people with the KRN mid rocket slide and Spike jump. Just jumping around or doing a wall run isn't nearly enough to avoid getting popped with ADS on PC. You would have to adapt your tactics to drop out of the narrow field of view that they might have. Like rocket sliding past them and shooting them in the back while they turn around, or distracting them with a flash/nade by throwing it high or low and then moving in the from the opposite angle so that they don't have enough time to react.

Either way is still super risky, one game I tried jumping in on someone and then tried to approach from the ground, which got me killed because they just swept their aim down and instantly had a headshot.

To be quiet honest, some of the more difficult things I had to deal with is actually the long range prone campers, it's much harder to hit their reduced profile with a spray and your brain doesn't identify motionless objects quickly enough.

Edit: They would have to make the jump/wall run speed, and overall movement speed closer to that of Titanfall to make run and gun more viable from long range on PC.

Apparently the EU/Scandinavian/something region has one dedicated server held together by duct tape, as ~80% of the matches tonight (and yesterday) have been unplayable. I don't even understand how the packet loss can be so bad. This is killing the game for me.

So ive been playing alone all day without any lag at all and as soon as i party up with a friend we cant find any lag free matches, is it just a coincidence?

I play TDM the exact same way. I like to flank the other team, or try to go wide to get behind them. This does of course flip the spawns but I'm not convinced that's necessarily a bad thing. In the end I usually finish with a positive kdr, so at least I think I'm helping.

I'm downloading the game right now. With this double XP weekend what level do you guys reckon I can get to if I play a good amount? My eventual goal is to unlock Reaper, he seems like the coolest specialist. I know he's unlocked at rank 34 but how long does that take?

I went from level 1 to 37 today, happy with that. Should mean another prestige down tomorrow. I've decided to just work on gold for every gun, and go through all the specialists one by one, there's no point wasting XP by using the same stuff all the time.

I played a little yesterday and today and made like 20 levels. If you want to get tot he Reaper this weekend it should be easily achievable.

I'm curious how you'll go about unlocking everything by 10th(?) prestige if you only get one permanent unlock each time you prestige. I had over 30 items still locked and all my regular tokens spent at level 55. Maybe at prestige 10, you just keep getting regular unlock tokens once you hit 55.

What use is Batteries Kinetic Armour? I dont think it's ever helped me to survive its completely useless.

I don't think it's completely useless, but it definitely could use a buff. I'm not entirely sure, but it seems like getting shot at reduces its duration, making it more like an extra bit of health rather than a full-on body shield. If that's how it's gonna be, then, it needs to charge up much faster than it does currently.
