Call of Duty: Black Ops III |OT| No Content For Old Gen

So I've managed to diamond for all the primaries but LMGs so far, which I only have the 48 Dredge. I'm reaching my final conclusions about the game, it's a good CoD game, but my hopes that this would be the one to elevate the series beyond mediocrity (MW2 was the last good one, imo) were disappointed. Which is a shame, because Zombies is really good. Multiplayer just has way too many issues for me to be happy with it.

Any advice for the getting Glitch kills and sidearm/knife? Those are really all I have left.

What do you dislike about multiplayer?

For me, this is the best game since BO2, although admittedly I do have a slight bias.

Not gonna buy the dlc so map rotation are getting old. Hope to get 2.5kd/400spm soon.

Game was good. But hated some of its issues.

What issues, if I might ask?

I'm in Malaysia, so since Blops3 prioritize connection, it will only search for players within the same area/country for pinga under 50 or 100. In my case, i get to only play the same people who are in Malaysia. That makes the game modes for me very limited. Like tdm and only domination are the only modes I can search and find players. Nuketown whenenver its available.
When I join you guys in the US or some of my friends in Japan, i get the 1 bar/300+ms ping. That was not the case back in Blops2 when I can play whatever mode I want and still gets me into decent lobbies with decent ping(3bars).
I just stopped joining people outside my area so I can finish challenges and play the game with 20ms.

Then there's parties breaking up when joining lobbies. Host migrations(which 90% of the time failed). Then random lost connections to hosts.

I didn't notice any change in the Crypto drop rate. Depends on game time and whether you win or lose, so you get fewer from a game that ends by hitting the maximum points rather than the timer running out. You'll also get fewer if you lose. TDM generally grants you the fewest on average. More than 2 per game is somewhat rare. Something like Demolition can net you 4 though, if the match lasts long enough.

Just some gameplay of me messing around with the Argus. Although even when I mess around I'm still somewhat serious and try my hardest, so of course I got a Mothership. I was inspired by the post of someone who was having difficulties with the weapon, so I decided to get a Mothership with it in the hopes of perhaps helping that person out (through seeing my gameplay and how I used the weapon).

Next up, I was inspired by the person experiencing difficulties with the combat knife, so my next challenge will probably be getting a Mothership with a combat knife.

If this picks up with you guys, I might try getting Motherships with whatever weapons you guys would like.

holy crap someone just had those dual weild crossbows that are rapidfire and 1 hit kill. some op shit.

I played against someone with this earlier. They were pretty bad and barely went even (I think 15 kills, 15 deaths in TDM), but I could definitely see the potential to be game breaking in the wrong hands.

Man is there a bug where your schocktraps and tripmines won't set off when a person is near because I have encountered this njmerous times when sniping and they dont set off.

If an enemy is using Hardwired (pretty sure it's Hardwired, might be Engineer), they won't activate your equipment at all (Hardwired does A LOT, and I mean A LOT, of things).

I'm definitely getting 2 keys in situations where I used to get 3.

I pretty much stopped playing multiplayer once I reached Prestige Master, it's getting worse every update so I just stick to zombies a few times a day now.

edit: I did end up getting my first mothership though when I hit Prestige 10 lv51. Was like eh, why not and unlocked it. I was so hyped. Couldn't get it again though before I hit master.

Going through all the specialist classes to unlock the armor. I know that the rejacked was nerfed but there is zero benefit to using this. It is actually detrimental because you rejack and the person just shoots you again and you die. They need to give it some sort of buff.

Can you imagine this is after two post-release buffs! Still so bad lol

I have never used it before so I am curious how they buffed it. I know people were up and arms because it was a second chance perk so Treyarch just made it useless.

Couple of things they could do to make it somewhat better:

If you rejeck and kill the person you get 200 points instead of the normal 100.
When you rejack it does not count as a death in your stats.

Yeah both of those ideas are weak but at least there would kind of be a reason to use it.

IIRC one change let you activate it faster the second let you shoot after you got up faster. Both did not help much.

Another one lets you keep more of your ability charge if you choose not to rejack. It used to be that you only kept half of your charge, now you keep 3/4ths.

It has some useful situations, and it can aid you in getting bloodthirsties, but it's less universally good as most of the other specialist abilities. Fortunately, it does charge quickly.

What I want to know is if they ever fixed vision pulse kills not counting towards the challenge even while the enemy is still red.

I didnt even know it did that. Seems kinda unnecessary when you can see the equipment already.

Yeah, I don't like that Hard Wired lets you ignore all placed equipment. It's eating Engineer's lunch, and is weakening already woefully weak pieces of equipment like shock charges (a weak effect to begin with which can now be counteracted by a record 3 perks) even further. Plus Hard Wired already has a bunch of other perks stacked onto it. Ignoring not triggering equipment, it makes you immune to EMPs, radar scramble, and gives you decent protection against Tracker and Sixth Sense. Meanwhile, perks like Blind Eye and Cold Blooded hardly find use.

No. The window for vpulse is still shitty. I'm surprised more people don't complain about it

do you really have to unlock all the armor sets for each specialist before you can unlock hero for anyone?

That's how it works. Honestly, Hero Armor doesn't really look that great, and makes you stick out a bunch, essentially painting a large target on your back.

For me, this is the best game since BO2, although admittedly I do have a slight bias.
These are thoughts off the top of my head as a solo player. If numbers matter to you, I was ranked ~6,000 in TDM with a 3.0 K/D and SPM of 430 and top 20,000 in Demolition before I started doing poorly for Dark Matter.

-Annoying perks like tracker and sixth sense (this isn't a huge deal, it's kinda just there)
-Explosives in general have too large a blast radius.
-Lag/Lag comp is atrocious, I frequently fire first with better guns and it doesn't appear the same way on the enemy screen or the enemy will do something that doesn't show up for me right away.
-Spawns are worse than I remember previous CoDs being
-Parkour system is completely half assed and unreliable. My character falls off walls or fails to climb ledges often, leading to frustrating deaths.
-Tripmine is bullshit: especially the fact that it can be placed on walls and is unavoidable if placed on the ceiling.
-People at Treyarch saw that some were abusing shock charge/bouncing betty combo and said "Yeah, that's fine, let's leave that in the game"
-Microtransactions now have actual OP content behind them
-Supply Crates/Microtransaction system allows you to get duplicates, there's no reason for this other than to force people to continue to reroll packages. Even Halo 5 doesn't do this, and it's microtransactions are much more engrained into the game.
-If I see skyjacked one more time I'm going to slit my wrists
-Buying the season pass doesn't get me nuketown
-Team balance system is the worst it's ever been
-Challenges fail to track from time to time
-The challenge gating is rather egregious
-I probably haven't mentioned it yet, but tripmines are literally cancer
-The community is easily the worst I've had the privilege of experiencing.
-Weapon balancing is all over the place, fairly poor imo
-The game is extremely inconsistent, in fact this is the first game I've ever played where I often feel like the enemy literally has better weapons than I do, even if we have the same loadout
-Tripmines
-Specialists are a neat idea, but some of them need a bit of tweaking, imo
-JiP will put me into strings of matches where we're losing. I know there's loss stat prevention, but when this happens I just dashboard because it's a waste of time.

Random comment. Popped in Ghosts on PS3 and was surprised to see 10000 people online playing.

Do we have anyway of knowing BO3 numbers?

Tracker and sixth sense have cheap counters though and they're really only good if you play a certain way.

I disagree about explosives except for battery but even battery isn't that great. Also flak jacket is very strong against explosives. Really hard counter. Everything else is very small radius and no danger close or other bullshit to amp them.

I don't have problems with the movement system but I'm using a controller with paddles. I'd recommend trying bumper jumper as it makes movement a lot easier with regular controllers.

Shock charge/trip mine have the same counters and I think they're easy to avoid in general.

At least they give you refund on dupes. If they didn't drop dupes, common crates would become too good. You could just open those until you got all the items.

Weapon balance isn't great but I see almost all guns being used and the "OP" guns all got nerfed pretty hard.

Re:JIP. At least you have loss prevention. I mean what's the alternative? You're doing well and people leave your match and you play 6v1 for 10 minutes or leave and get a loss yourself? That'd be 100 times worse. I know it sucks matching into a game that's already going on but that's just the first time you drop in. Stay in the lobby and you'll get that once per session. The alternative is way worse as lobbies would just continually empty out and you'd have to match in again and wait forever to find a new lobby that is in the middle of a match which means you'd get sketch connections since the available pool of players is smaller (only players that are in between games).

I'll give it two more week untill Treyarch will release weapon variations. This Black Market bullshit is getting out of hand.

The MX Garand is such a damn powerful weapon when in the right hands. I managed to pick it up on Combine and tore the enemy team a new one. But, I won't spend 200~300 bucks to get it though.

I think so, I'm not buying IWCoD 2016 until I see what it's actually all about, I bought BO3 on the good graces for Treyarch from BO3 and all the god stuff they said before release eg cosmetic items only, now we see the true colours of 3arch/Activision and screw them.

I'm just bummed I went all in on this with the season pass.

I think we all should blame Activision instead of Treyarch. I mean, they gave us the Double CryptoKey weekend despite Activision being "against" it. It won't take long for kids stealing creditcards to just keep buying Supply Drops. I can see Reddit now : "OMMUGYZ! I ACCITDENTLNY BOUGHT THZY!" ... The option to buy CryptoKeys should have never gone live. Never. Hell, the drop-rate (or earn-rate ... buy-rate even?) of these new weapons should be higher than any other item available in those packs. Once obtained, done. You can never receive the item again.

Despite the problems with all the micro-transactions BO3 is a solid COD. Much better than AW and Ghosts was. Atleast, for me. I've got this gut feeling COD2016 will be another shitty addition by IW. We will find out soon enough.

-Hardwired counters them, and they're very uncommon nowadays. Although if you know what you're doing they shouldn't cause too many problems.
-I strongly disagree. Even without flak jacket I can survive the blast radius of a drag grenade if I back up. The biggest explosion I can think of is a singular Hellstorm missile, and that's a given. Besides, you can use Flak Jacket.
-I can't say anything about that since I rarely have games with a lot of lag.
-I think the spawns are really well done. At least in Domination, they're extremely predictable. You don't really spawn into death in this game. Even in Skyjacked the enemy has cover and the ability to defend themselves or run.
-The movement system is incredibly well done. If you're falling and dying, that's on you. As I've said before, on most maps, you can get from one end to the other without ever touching the ground. It's all a matter of linking your movements.
-The trip mine has three counters. Flak Jacket to survive, Engineer to see them through walls, and Hardwired so that they (as well as shock charges and everything else, if I recall correctly) don't even go off AT ALL.
-Again, with Hardwired they don't go off at all.
-I apologize, but the Shadowclaw, Garand, and Marshal are the farthest thing from OP I've ever seen. The Garand could be good if you use extended mags and fast mags, but even then you're left with 12 bullets and can only reload when you shoot them all.
-Duplicates can be burned. Rarer ones give you more cryptokeys.
-Skyjacked is one of my favorites. I just bring my Razorback or Vesper with the Ripper and I'm perfectly fine.
-Fair enough.
-Fair enough.
-Can't argue since all of my challenges haven't faltered as of yet.
-Again, can't really speak for the challenges.
-3 counters.
-That's arguable. The community has its good and bad people.
-Weapon balancing is amazing, and I love the constant tweaks. There isn't a single weapon that is OP or impossible to get a Mothership with, and that's the way it should be.
-For me, the game is pretty consistent. Whenever I win or lose a gunfight, I know why. I'll admit my only complaint is dying from High Caliber but it's no big deal.
-3 counters
-Same with the weapons, there isn't any specialist that is OP or unusable.
-Whenever that happened I just go for the K/D and SPM since I know the loss doesn't win. If I get streaks and win, well there's a bonus win.

Honestly, I'm reaching the end of my rope with BLOPS III as well. Now that I have Siege (And now Battlefield 4 since I picked it up for cheap) and the Division in the pipe, the problems this game has are starting to be very glaring.

The trip mines complaint is foreign to me as a person who frequents both TDM and Domination. I hated being killed by explosives so I roll with Flak Jacket with every build. Flak Jacket is amazing even against indirect scorestreaks explosions.

Also you can shoot the trip mines and as someone who doesn't rack up the kills like others around here, getting these little bonus points is nice.

I'm not done with it yet but I'm not itching to play long sessions like a month ago. My bro and I have been playing more TDM and while we're doing very well, I usually have my fill after 3 - 5 matches and move onto another game.

For me, going back to Battlefield 4 is tough and takes me a bit of time to adjust to the framerate difference. I keep hoping that DICE prioritize rock solid performance over making things prettier.

Really? The two days that I have spent playing BF4 on PS4 have been fairly rock solid, in my experience.

Then they should make the dlc maps free. I know they won't though as they only care about money and can't even fix the shit servers.

I agree. Charge for all those weapon skins, character skins and junk but give out the maps for free. With more maps, they'll keep players longer and create a larger opportunity to spend more. But alas, when you have so many people buy a season pass blind, (BLOPS3 had the highest sell rate), why change?

The original maps have gotten better but I still notice drops when stuff pops off on certain maps. I'm primarily talking about 64 player Conquest performance though; Dragon Valley is particularly bad with 64 players. I love BF4 on PS4 but silky smooth performer it is not.

That being said, I might hop in the next time I see you play.
