Playing with two friends I finished off my 6th '6 spike kills in a game' challenge to get gold body for Ruin. Midway through the next game the server shits the bed and we all lose connection. Get the group back together and back playing, a couple games later I realize I should put on the armor to see what it looks like.

It's not unlocked. Crashing the game AFTER I'd unlocked it cost me the armor? This fucking game...

I'm tempted to double dip and pick this up for PC. Auto-aim with controller on PC feels so much more sticky. It's actually pretty hilarious lol

I don't think there is a challenge for six spike kills in match. Isn't it something along the lines of getting a double kill or higher three times with Gravity Spikes?

Saw an MX Garand in the wild today. I want one but I won't pay for COD points. Maybe I'll rebuy AW with the M1 Garand comes to PS4. At least you get Supply Drops practically every game in AW.

Hero challenge is six kills in a match. You unlock hero challenges after finishing the doubles for all heroes

Evening all.

Didn't want to make a thread, but I picked up BO3 thanks to the sale with Gold.

After BO2, the series took a nose dive with me. I think I lasted two days into AW online, and just washed my hands with it. I kept an eye on BO3, because Treyarch have produced the best campaigns IMO (not exactly he cornerstone of COD but ya know). Was never going to pick it up at release for full price, so have been waiting for a price drop.

Bit annoyed I waited to be honest; I've marathoned the campaign (nearly finished), and jumped in online to see what the crack is.

I have to say, it's a hell of a lot of fun. I've always been a reasonable COD player, but sucked at AW, so I was dreading BO3's movement mechanics, but it seems so much more...refined than AW. It feels slick, and natural, and yet at the same time still grounded in its core. If you were good at COD before, it seems BO3 is fresh enough to still maintain that balance. That said, I have less than 24 hours of owning the game, let alone playing, so that may change.

Quick question regarding load outs; what's available in terms of semi-auto assault rifles? Where's my M14 equivalent?

I know I can play with them all on campaign, but I kinda stuck with the Man O War after it seemed awesome (how does it fair online?)

Also, so they still do Prestige tokens? Damn you Ghost and your level 38 unlock! I'm the "silenced assault rifle, stay off radar and flank" type of player, rather than a rushing Red-Bull fueled twitch demon.

Any recommendations on the Specialists, by the way? It seems a cool mechanic to vary up play styles, but I just went with the bow because the character model looks cool lol.

Use all the specialists until you find one that speaks to you and fits your play style. Most of them are viable ways to get bullshit kills.

This game is more fun than BO2, in my opinion. There's only one semi auto assault rifle, which is the Shieva (you get it rather late, though). It has a decent fire rate and 20 bullets. You can also get the MX Garand (which is basically a futuristic M1 Grand), but it's only available from supply drops. Don't worry though, there's only three actual weapons from supply drops and they're all far from being overpowered. The MX Garand is basically a Shieva that can shoot faster but has 8 bullets (and you can only reload after shooting all the bullets). Using the High Caliber attachment with the Shieva or the MX Garand will mean that you can kill enemies with a single bullet to the head.

The Man-O-War is admittedly good (I find that it's one of the few weapons that actually kills me often by beating my Razorback). It's fire rate is abysmal, but it's damage is immense. It's always a 3-4 shot kill. With High Caliber, it's a two shot kill to the head. So yeah, it's good as long as you make sure you're staying relatively far from enemies.

Yeah, every time you prestige you get a token that allows you to permanently unlock anything you wish. Ghost is great, but you need to be walking, running, strafing left and right (a rather large distance), going in a circle, or aiming down the sights with an SMG or Shotgun that has stock for it to activate. Basically, as soon as you start aiming down the sights with your assault rifles, UAVs will see you.

For me, Spectre's Ripper is the best. You can get it like 10 times a game, and it doesn't really make you change your playstyle. Even when you get killed with it you keep some of your bar and you can earn it fast. It pretty much gives you a super quick commando lunge knife for a little while. Activating it while near an enemy will kill them, and after that you can just press the knife button to slice them up. Even after you activate it, it only replaces your melee animation so you can still use your weapon. Easy way to kill enemies in close quarters amor to stand up in close range more.

What the fuck dude, is anyone else's theater messed up? I'm getting games that aren't even mine, and most of mine aren't showing up

I had a 110-1 double nuclear game that's not fucking showing up

Shit is stupid

I know the MP Starter Pack thing ends tomorrow, but have they said exactly what time it ends? I want to buy it, but won't have the money until I get paid tomorrow morning.

Cheers for the info.

Thoughts on the Shieva?

I've noticed High Calibre; a worthy attachment? In the campaign I went with FMJ due to how many surfaces you can shoot through.

I'll play around with the different specialists to see what clicks, though I'll pay attention to your suggestion.

Been rocking the XR-2 for now, but I'll play around with guns as and when I level up. Double XP has helped massively.

High Caliber on shiva makes it a 1 shot kill on headshots.

Anytime.

The Shieva is a great anti infantry weapon, knocking people out in two shots across insane ranges and rarely you'll come across three shots to kill. Using long barrel will double your range, making you kill in two shots practically all the time. Not going to lie down, it's relatively slow firing rate will prove to be a downfall at close range. Unless you manage to get your two shots off quick and not miss, you'll be outgun in almost every close range situation.

High Caliber, as much as I hate to say, is a pretty good attachment. Just don't force yourself to go for headshots, let them happen naturally. It's good for weapons like the Man-O-War and Shieva to get rid of head glitches. It seems that whenever I get killed from a headshot, it's always someone with an assault rifle (as I said before, usually the man of war) using High Caliber.

Other noticeable and quick specialist abilities for people getting used to the game besides the Ripper are Glitch to travel back in time (just never glitch and do the exact same thing that you did before, it'll get you killed. Try a different path or tactic if you glitch), Vision Pulse to see through walls, Comat Focus to earn extra score (this one is high risk high reward), Kinetic armor to have an extra 150 health, and Heat Wave to make nearby enemies immobile.

The best and easiest weapon to use is by far the Gravity Spikes. Get close to an enemy, activate, and get a free kill. If you're playing objective modes, get close to an objective filled with enemies, use it, and it's a free multi kill. The War Machine is easy to use, as is the Purifier and the Scythe (the Scythe tales the longest to activate, though). The Ripper is still by far my favorite. The Annilhator and Tempest are really good for destroying streaks.

Edit: Anyone up for some matches? I'll probably be a bit rusty, but hopefully I'll still get a Mothership every game.

Is this game worth 40 dollars if I'm only interested in mp on ps4? Does the dlc include anything other than maps and zombie stuff? I wanna be able to unlock all the weapons and whatnot without having to pay extra

I would say so, yeah. This game is a blast, in my opinion. I've only dabbled in campaign and zombies just for fun. I'm sure the DLC will include new (legitimate) weapons and specialists soon, but it's unknown whether or not we'll have to pay for them or if they'll be in supply drops.

None of the weapons are technically locked behind a pay wall.

There are some in chests, and you can buy COD Points to get those chest, but you also just get them by playing.

Now that I'm getting back into CoD with the MP Starter pack, I'm going back to some of the YouTubers I watched back in the day.

Whatever happened to WhiteBoy7thSt? He has 2.5 mil subscribers, but his videos are only getting like 20-50k views.

Dude, it is seriously, SERIOUSLY, the best gun in the game.

Try this class set up:

Razorback (ELO/BOA 3, suppressor, fast mags, rapid fire)
Ghost, scavenger and ante up.

^ That class is the reason I have 350+ motherships.

It just needs to be silenced and shoot faster. Scavenger and fast mags help with ammunition concerns. Ghost to go with the suppressor, and an optic of your choice.

Even while suppressed the 4-5 shot ranges are incredibly long, and it has very little and predictable recoil. However, keep in mind that with the class above, you're supposed to play stealthy and perform unexpected maneuvers to get the drop on enemies in case they're too close or too far. Either that, or make sure that you're ready for most gunfights.

Thanks for sharing this. I did most of this class (since I prestiged I don't have ghost or scavenger unlocked yet)

I did pretty well with that set up. I did end up going like 34/2 in TDM on match. I will stick with this and see how well I do.

It's impossible for me to get that double kill shortly after glitching challenge. The problem is after you glitch you have no idea where you will end up. On top of that there is very rarely an opportunity to get a double kill. I don't think I will ever complete that challenge.

Just, camp? If you stay on one spot long enough the game will "remember" that as the last place you went. Camp, use the Sheeva (or a sniper) and wait. You see one? Glitch, kill them ... because there's a high chance that you'll get your second. This isn't a 100% guaranteed method but It'll work a shit-ton better than playing "casual".

You think Glitch is hard to get double kills with? He heh Ehehah aha ... try the HIVE :(

The hive is a pain but it's complete luck. All you can do is put the hives down and hope for the best. Nothing else you can do.

The glitch so far is a bitch to complete. Ill take your advice and see what happeneds.

Side note as well: I don't know if they have changed something with the chests but going with the 10 token chests is pointless. All I get is common items. The 30 tokens chests has not any better for me. Two common items and one rare taunt.

They only noteable change is the rate you earn those CryptoKeys.

At the rate I'm earning them now I'll have those DLC weapons in 2028. Common Supply Drops are garbage. Same goes for the "rare" ones but atleast those have a chance to earn back some keys.

Currently unlocking all the "Hero-Gear" ... well, the road-to-Gold-Hero that is. I only need to finish up the NOMAD and REAPER. Then I'm done and I can work on getting the Gold-gear. Nomad and ReJack ... god that Specialist is dumb as shit.

"Hey guyz! I'm dead and farting green smoke! Come knife me! +1 kill garaunteed!"

It is. The only somewhat redeeming quality is that it can help with the bloodthirsty camo challenge. Beside that it actually puts you at a disadvantage because if you respan you almost always get killed again.

Honestly they should have never changed it from what it was in the beta because the score streaks are not overally difficult to destroy.

Let's be real. You probably won't get all the crate weapons even if you pay and it's really unlikely that you'll get 1 or more by the time you hit prestige master if you don't pay.

Use C4 on Dom. Either throw it and glitch then explode or just plant it on a flag and wait for it to light up then glitch and detonate. If you're lucky you can glitch, detonate, then get another couple kills.

Ah, I see. All I have left is to finish Psychosis when I unlock that and I'll have the hero challenges so that sounds fun.

I took a tip from Tabor Hill and threw cooked grenades at hardpoint sites. Throw grenade, glitch, and hope it was a double. It actually didn't take me long at all doing this.

Working on the 6 kills for the actual Hero armor is actually a lot less fun than I thought it would be. Not impossible but I'm irrationally angry when my team wins or loses games too quickly lol. The abilities are simple enough though.

during double xp weekend I went from L25 to L47. Feels good. I dont think I'll be prestiging again anytime soon tho. Not unless its during a double xp weekend. Only then.

But during the relevel that forced me to use some guns I never touched (like VMP) and I got better with the base specialists. so it was fun (kinda)

New update 1.07 is now up, about 800mb.
No patch notes yet, but maybe it includes rumored new specialist? Would be cool. I hope is not black market item.
