They're pretty all right, although the hard-point placement on Rift is ridiculous. Verge is a little cluttered, but that's probably just the roughness that comes from unfamiliarity. Wish I could find a game of ground war with these maps.

Does Treyarch purposely make some maps not available in groundwar? There are a few i've never played in that mode since release.
 
So what do you guys think about the new maps? I did my usual of running around by myself to learn the layouts, then jumped into a few games.

Knockout: Beautiful map, one of my favorites to just hang out in. The spike pit lane makes for some interesting match ups. I'm getting some framerate hits on this map though, not sure what that's about. I haven't seen that in any other maps. Anyone else?

Spire: My second favorite, also beautiful. The middle lane is so wide open, you can get hit from just about anywhere, and it's not safe to be in the middle at all. Lots of wide open areas, even in between lanes (like from the bottom of the escalators over to either of the side lanes), make it tense sprinting from cover to cover. I'm not a huge fan of the outside lane, the wall running feels so exposed. Really only the inner lane is safe. Overall, I'd say the theme of this map is "exposed" and finding good cover is challenging.

Rift: Cool concept, but I'm not a big fan of the art. There are a couple of power positions just to the side of each of the 2 main central windows that gives you a view into the middle of the map and a view through the unbreakable glass in the side train. At first I didn't realize that glass is unbreakable and wasted a whole clip wondering why I wasn't hitting anything. Makes it easy to see who's flanking from that route though. You can slide under the window to hide yourself if you don't want to be spotted.

Verge: Liked what I saw in my walkthough, never came up in a lobby, so I can't really comment on the gameplay. My guess is that the upper part of the tunnel system isn't going to be used much because it's so far out of the way of where I anticipate the action will be. I also found it really difficult to jump up from the barge to the platform on the bridge. It should be easy as anything, but there's something about the angle there that I end up jumping and hitting my head on the underside of the platform unless I really concentrate on the jump. Kinda hard to explain.
 
After seeing these new Zombies maps I really wish Treyarch would make a Zombies themed CoD; they're so much more creative and interesting than these generic future plots.

Diamonded my LMGs tonight, so all that's left is 1 more bloodthirsty on the p06, the entire camos of the SVG sniper or whatever its called, and 2 more bloodthirsties on my combat knife. Then thats it, dark matter is done.

Ok so this is totally January 2016 but...

JESUS...H...TAP DANCING...CHRIST! Finally diamond snipers which next to shotguns ( which I've done already ) was my most dreaded class of weapons finally got to diamond. My initial negative vibes about the last sniper which for me was the SVG-100 turned out wrong and this gun was a skill-shot weapon in that a lot of the kills felt like an achievement and made me go "Boo-yah!!" but I'm glad the snipers are now done. Just need that damn L-car sorted and it should be all smooth sailing from there for DM. Not a big deal nowadays I know but this is a personal quest of mine that I've set myself out for and I intend to see it through.

Just lost a match of Safeguard on Verge, because our robot got glitched and stopped moving once he got out of the water. Great.

Also is there a way to go like super speed now? This Sparrow was always moving at sprinting speed, even when strafe firing, super hard to hit them and their accuracy was insanely on point. Ended up with 50 something kills in Safeguard.

Yea I've done all pistols and the knife and launchers so the L-car is the last secondary for me. After that all I have left are some of the AR's, SMG's and LMG's, I wanted to save the "easier" guns for last.

For some reason my game started to regularly freeze/stutter for a second during multiplayer. It can happen a few times during a match and it started after the last update.

Anyone else having this issue? PS4 version

Yea I'm plowing through the Pharo atm and the gun is a bit underwhelming. In softcore its a hitmarker machine and in Hardcore the cycle rate gets you as in you fire a burst and if you miss some or all of your shots I find I get taken out before the next burst cycle starts.

PS. Doesn't help that on PC there seems to be a bug that sometimes causes your mouse sensitivity to go out of whack if you die while ADS and you gotta restart the game.

Pretty much the same thing that happened to me but I got two decals and a taunt. I would have been pissed had I not expected this. I bet I have opened over 50 rare chests and the only weapon I got was the crowbar.

Why anybody would pay real money for crypto keys is beyond me.

I still haven't gotten a single weapon. I've gotten two Emblems in the past 10-15 cases, and they're supposed to be just as rare as weapons.

I've pretty much only gotten gestures, decals, and camos. No weapons. No weapon variants except for sniper and sidearm ones, neither of which I use. Probably opened around 15-20 crates since they started releasing weapons.

I don't expect much anymore.

I'm tempted to look through my past 25 items to see if I've even gotten anything I like. I guess I got a bunch of the new gestures when they released, but that's about it. I don't even get camos I like anymore.

Ive got 960 keys and theyre not going anywhere until the new stuff hits. Never paid for, no chance, and I used to buy cosmetic stuff in ghosts.
 
Alright, I can see the reason why people like the VMP. However, I'm not sure if I should keep using it or not. It gave me at least like 5 RAPS in a single game, yet a Mothership proved hard to get at times. I don't know, I keep telling myself that the Razorback is still superior as long as it's not in Combine.

I really like the VMP for smaller maps, feels like it was for that

Yeah, I'm feeling the same way. It's definitely a good gun but I honestly feel it's far from the best SMG. If anything it seems like it would be in the middle or near the bottom in terms of effectiveness, regardless of popularity. So I'll probably use it on the smaller maps and use the Razorback for everything else (previously I would use the Kuda or Weevil on smaller maps).

For sure, it's definitely my most used and effective weapon since it is reliable in so many situations. Heck, I could probably do as good as the VMP on Combine using my Razorback on Combine. However, I decided I'll probably switch it up every now and then for the sake of variety and using weapons like the VMP on maps in which they shine (which is pretty much just Combine).

And yeah! The first game went extremely well for you but at least you peaked! It's a shine of progress! It's only a matter of time until you get RAPS every game (even if you sometimes have to deal with some minor lag). Indeed, Domination is my favorite game mode because it is fun, predictable, and incredibly easy to get streaks. I can definitely play other game modes and have a nice time, but for me a large portion of the fun of the game is by getting streaks (and experiencing the rush and adrenaline of combat through a lot of action) and Domination is just the easiest way to do that for me. The only thing about it is that you're pretty much screwed if you're playing solo or with an unreliable/unskilled party. So if you'd like you can play TDM when solo and then party up with me and my friends for fun times in Domination.

Yep, Rift is not a kind map for respawn locations. I don't ever rage quit, but this last match I just had to. Multiple deaths in mere seconds after spawning, and this is with enemies directly nearby me. I mean, it's not a big map by any means, but I would expect better from a COD map released in 2016.

General

  • Arena Season Vet Vanquisher Calling Cards should now properly unlock after meeting the required win total.
  • Fixed an issue where the “Rank 1” Calling Card was being awarded again in the After-Action Report after winning an Arena match, despite the user already having the card.
  • Earned Prestige Calling Cards now properly display within the Calling Cards menu.
General Gameplay

  • Resolved issue where grey boxes were appearing in place of the NX ShadowClaw.
  • Addressed exploit where Players were able to gain extra momentum at end of a slide.
  • Added pre-match “Waiting for Players” message when Pre-Match settings are altered in Custom Games.

Dang, the new zombies level has lots of points where you can render the Easter Egg non-completeable if you make the wrong move. I got very far solo, built the KT-4, had it as my third weapon with Mule Kick, then went down. When I came back up, all my perks were gone, as was the KT-4, and it vanished completely from the map. Similarly, you're supposed to receive a special part from the
giant spider boss
, but it only drops if you've initiated the main Easter Egg. Since I killed it beforehand, the part is nowhere to be found. :\


edit: Oh wait, I didn't think to check the mystery box. I can probably retrieve the KT-4 from there. Dunno about the special part I need though. .

Hmm, interesting. It would be nice to make a rather full GAF party (especially one from a variety of areas, ranging from the UK to Israel). Hopefully the lag (if you get any, which you might) isn't too bad.

Snipers are a disaster for me. I seemingly shoot people dead on but miss. Yet against me I am pumping shots into people, they somehow power through, take a shot that in the replay seems about 3 feet to the left of me that kills me.

Of the new DLC maps so far, I quite like Spire and Rift. Verge is alright depending on the game mode. I hate Knockout.

I also got really lucky and opened a Marshall 16 out of a rare crate for 30 cryptokeys last night. I've spent $0 on coins and have the MX Garand and Marshall 16, which were the two I wanted the most. I usually don't get lucky like this so I'm not sure how it happened. I'm going to run a build that has both of them just for laughs. I think of the rest of the guns I'd only be interested in a melee weapon and the shotgun, maybe.

Oh? Do you know Soulja and play with him often? If he's also online, the three of us can play (as well as anyone else online) if you'd like. I've only played with him once since he usually has his own party so I just play a match after inviting him (but he's usually in a game) and waiting for a long while since sometimes his games take a while and I lose patience at times. Then he invites me but I'm in a game so I have to wait to finish, and by the time I'm done he's in a game again and the cycle continues.

That's great to hear, I can't wait to play with you guys.

Indeed, that's my brother. You can expect me to be around his skill level (and if not, higher). So expect a large amount of Wraiths, RAPS, and Motherships regularly (especially with the Ante Up buff making a Wraith only 950 points and the buffs to the Razorback).
