I've found new joy on this game running around RPG'ing everyone. I feel like I've developed quite the skill in it too lol
Bumper jumper is better than default, but you still need to move the left index finger off ads to use it. Ads with the middle finger is the only other way and I find it much easier to jump with the middle finger on a scuf than to ads with the middle finger on bumper jumper. Scufs definitely provide a small advantage, especially in bo3 with all the jumping and wall running.
The applications for ADS while jumping are pretty limited compared to just jumping in general though. The only time I can see you needing to ADS a lot while in the "air" is wall running but you don't even have to hold jump to do that so you could just slide your index finger over to the trigger after you connect with the wall. Comfort is one thing but everything you see being done with elite/scuf controllers can be done with the regular controller whether you need to claw or switch to bumper jumper or whatever. There may be a performance gap but it's small. It's definitely not as big of a deal as people are making it out to be (significant advantage in maneuverability for paddle controllers or a big enough deal to boycott the game/future games)
Anyone else use R3 as the jump button? It seems to work OK and your finger is always on the trigger.
I need major tips for this game. It's the first CoD I'm trying to get into and actually take seriously. I've owned previous entries but usually played them once and put them down (MW2, BO1, Ghosts, Advanced Warfare) and I am getting frustrated.
Any starting points for a complete beginner?

for multiplayer I assume - on weekends, when its available, play nuketown on bonus. Small, simple map with minimal complexity.
Otherwise, try to stay with other people and don't run off by yourself. Loadouts are really important, imo the stuff that gives awareness isn't that great. Instead get stuff that makes you more silent, immune to grenades/scanners/etc. Try a few diff guns but stick with one or two, I think most people really like the VMP (submachine). I personally prefer a loadout with 1 gun and 3-4 attachments and 4-5 bonuses, which means I have zero grenades but I know others who are the opposite and use iron sights and only 2-3 bonuses and max out their grenades.
There is a bit of truth to constantly moving will get you killed, but also camping in one spot will get you killed. I tend to find a spot I have good sights down and walls and teammates around me, get 1-3 kills, then move again.
Learning the maps is absolutely critical. Not just paths through but choke points, respawn points, places to hide, secret ways around maps, etc. Just going into spectator mode and watching people play - or watching people play on twitch - can be a huge learning tool.
I'm a shitty FPS player, my KDR on COD is under 1 still probably but I have improved like 10x in the past year playing a few games a week, and have even gone to the top spots a few times which I would have thought impossible a year ago. Practice, getting used to one gun/scope/loadout, and watching a lot of twitch players.
More fucking patches to the weapons, fuck sake Treyarch.
Did they do anything about the RK5 yet?
What's wrong with the RK5?
Echoed my thoughts.Only the Vesper this time. Nerfed/unbuffed again. Exactly what do they want that gun to be?
Special Contracts are now available in the Black Market:
Total Victory: Record 75 wins and earn a Weapon Bribe and a bundle of 10 Rare Supply Drops.
Mercenary Contract: For the price of 90 Cryptokeys, Players will receive 60 minutes of Blackjack’s time.
8-bit Specialist Calling Cards: Earn 1 Calling Card for each Sub-Contract. Complete all 6 and unlock a bonus animated Calling Card.
Tools of the Trade: Unlock the Underworld Camo for all of your weapons.
With the exception of the Mercenary Contract players can only work towards one Special Contract at a time, so choose your Special Contract wisely. Replacing one Special Contract with another will reset any and all progress achieved towards the initial Special Contract.
Not resetting the 75 wins is a major letdown...

It's ridiculous. No need to pick up another gun off the ground if you have it as a secondary.
It's not really good outside close ranges though.
I don't see anything wrong with it, and I prefer the other two default pistols to it, actually.
When is an enemy classed as an attacker in an objective game? I've got 2 contracts to kill 15 and 100 and I don't seem to be getting any. I play alot of safeguard and assumed killing someone escorting would count?
Edit: Nevermind switched to domination.
I've been playing for about two hours now and have only won maybe two games of TDM. I just don't get how people are prestige rank 5000 are still so bad at this game. Just had a game where I went 28/7 and the rest of my team was 2/21, 0/15, 5/22. I don't get it.
Oh no, it's on a platform-by-platform basis?
I think Treyarch aim way to high with 350 million matches, as of this morning the community is up to 5%.
Is it recommendable to play through Black Ops II in order to understand the BOIII campaign? Are they connected?
I'm hesitant to because I honestly thought the pacing and level variety in the original BO campaign was really boring compared to the Infinity Ward games.
The BOIII campaign has literally a single throwaway line to connect it to the BOII campaign. They might as well be completely different series story-wise.Is it recommendable to play through Black Ops II in order to understand the BOIII campaign? Are they connected?

I would rather you play Black Ops II instead of boring yourself to death playing Black Ops III's campaign.
Umm I liked the Black Ops 3 campaign and was surprised that it was actually a co-op campaign, but then again I haven't played COD games for a long time. Story was also decent especially with the twist that you probably won't realize until after finishing the game and checked out plot analysis about it.
