Act like it's quake rocket arena and prefire at every a corner. With the Safeguard Win daily and super predictable enemy routes I was racking in them kills, even got a triple.

It appears that DLC #3 Descent is only available with the season pass on PC. From the comments on the Steam community page, there is a 30% discount if you don't have the season pass but have already purchased DLC #1 and #2. Don't quote me on that though.

Edit: Well, hopping on tonight since DLC #3 launched, Treyarch has finally cleaned up the playlists on PC. Under Bonus, there is a Descent playlist and a HC Descent playlist. DLC #1 and #2 maps are in normal rotation finally. Woohoo

Bumper jumper is better than default, but you still need to move the left index finger off ads to use it. Ads with the middle finger is the only other way and I find it much easier to jump with the middle finger on a scuf than to ads with the middle finger on bumper jumper. Scufs definitely provide a small advantage, especially in bo3 with all the jumping and wall running.

The applications for ADS while jumping are pretty limited compared to just jumping in general though. The only time I can see you needing to ADS a lot while in the "air" is wall running but you don't even have to hold jump to do that so you could just slide your index finger over to the trigger after you connect with the wall. Comfort is one thing but everything you see being done with elite/scuf controllers can be done with the regular controller whether you need to claw or switch to bumper jumper or whatever. There may be a performance gap but it's small. It's definitely not as big of a deal as people are making it out to be (significant advantage in maneuverability for paddle controllers or a big enough deal to boycott the game/future games)

Exactly. It's a small advantage. Not something for anyone to complain about. That said, I do like mine a lot. And I am getting a lot better at ads in the air.

So after month and months I finally unlocked DM camo. What a grind this was. Lucky for me when the game first game out I always carried a launcher so that was actually the first weapons I got diamond. Snipers were a nightmare as well and almost got me to stop the grind. Knives were frustrating as well. Getting 5 bloodthirsties was aggravating. I must have killed been one kill away from a bloodthirsty about 10 times.

Glad that grind is done. Now I cam finally just play the game normally!

He touched the black heart of a mod
Posted these in the subreddit and even submitted them to Activision as feedback (lol), but here are two ideas I have for changes I think would add a bit to the multiplayer:

First, my idea for Variants:

I like attachment variants. They're a really cool addition to the game that can sometimes totally change up the appearance of a gun, but I rarely ever get to see them since they're tied exclusively to the Black Market's endless wheel of duplicates. Being as they're less of a big ticket item--many people seem to be expressly unhappy to get variants in chests--I think it would be a good idea to offer another way of getting variants, alongside the Black Market.

My idea is to introduce weapon-specific attachment challenges, such as "get 50 kills shortly after aiming with quickdraw equipped" or "get 25 double kills with the same magazine with extended mags equipped" or "get 30 kills through walls/kill 20 scorestreaks with FMJ equipped". That sort of thing. The completion of these challenges would then unlock the variant for that attachment for whatever gun you were using.

I think this addition would bring back a lot of upper-echelon players who have completed the dark matter and hero armor challenges, have hit prestige master and have completed the majority of the multiplayer challenges. Folks are always looking for some kind of goal that they can actively work towards (that isn't based around pure luck and very low probability).

This idea would be a way of doing that while using the content that has been in the game since day 1. I've been playing since day 1, and the largest number of variants I have for a gun is 4.

And second, my idea for equipping Secondaries as Primaries:

I really like using a lot of the secondary weapons, especially handguns. However, I find my use of these weapons is limited by their secondary weapon status. Sometimes I want to play with a pistol and a launcher, or a pistol and a melee weapon, or a pistol and another pistol. With the current system, you can't do these things. I'd also like to be able to put more than two attachments on these secondary weapons. I can tell that a lot of the attachments are made to fit together nicely, but you can't ever see a fully decked out pistol because of the two attachment limitation. Without giving secondaries an unreasonable buff, here is my idea for how these could be implemented.

In the primary weapon selection, have every weapon available. From SMGs to pistols, sniper rifles to launchers, shotguns to melee weapons. All weapons in the primary slot should be able to use the primary gunfighter wildcards, allowing applicable weapons, such as pistols, to be fitted with up to five attachments and an optic.

The secondary weapon selection would remain the same as it is now. By standard it would only feature the typical secondary weapons. It would still need a wildcard to equip primaries, and all weapons in this slot would still be limited to two attachments and an optic.

My last suggestion is to allow attachments to be equipped along with dual wield, but dual wield itself would take up two attachment spaces/pick 10 points for balance purposes. I'd really dig having dual silenced pistols, or dual pistols with laser sights.

Unless one of the secondary weapons proves to be extremely more powerful than the primaries when given more than two attachments (I can see this narrative happening, but I doubt the accusation would hold water. I think it'd be more of a case of "it's different and I don't like being killed by it so it's broken/OP") I think this is about as elegant a solution as they come, and I don't see it disrupting the game's balance in a major way.

I've come back to the game after several weeks away, I finished golding my last Black Market gun (the Interdiction) and I'm looking for any way to spruce up the experience again. What do you guys think?

I need major tips for this game. It's the first CoD I'm trying to get into and actually take seriously. I've owned previous entries but usually played them once and put them down (MW2, BO1, Ghosts, Advanced Warfare) and I am getting frustrated.

Any starting points for a complete beginner?

Get used to jumping and shooting at the same time, switching your controls to Bumper Jumper is almost a necessity.

Learning the maps is crucial, but that just takes time. Stick to the SMGs and ARs in the meantime, and play an objective game mode so you can predict where people will be easier.

watch xclusive ace videos on spawns

a large part of being successful in cod is positioning and map/spawn awareness. if you put yourself into advantageous situations you can win gun fights against more skilled players by tilting odds in your favor

Watch this first, and the rest of his vids that seem useful:

Then learn the maps and the spawns. The rest should come naturally.

for multiplayer I assume - on weekends, when its available, play nuketown on bonus. Small, simple map with minimal complexity.

Otherwise, try to stay with other people and don't run off by yourself. Loadouts are really important, imo the stuff that gives awareness isn't that great. Instead get stuff that makes you more silent, immune to grenades/scanners/etc. Try a few diff guns but stick with one or two, I think most people really like the VMP (submachine). I personally prefer a loadout with 1 gun and 3-4 attachments and 4-5 bonuses, which means I have zero grenades but I know others who are the opposite and use iron sights and only 2-3 bonuses and max out their grenades.

There is a bit of truth to constantly moving will get you killed, but also camping in one spot will get you killed. I tend to find a spot I have good sights down and walls and teammates around me, get 1-3 kills, then move again.

Learning the maps is absolutely critical. Not just paths through but choke points, respawn points, places to hide, secret ways around maps, etc. Just going into spectator mode and watching people play - or watching people play on twitch - can be a huge learning tool.

I'm a shitty FPS player, my KDR on COD is under 1 still probably but I have improved like 10x in the past year playing a few games a week, and have even gone to the top spots a few times which I would have thought impossible a year ago. Practice, getting used to one gun/scope/loadout, and watching a lot of twitch players.

Personally, I would get frustrated as a new player on the Nuketown playlist. That map is a clusterf and really difficult to find any sort of groove on.

I would stick with one mode to start, probably TDM or Dom, and learn the maps.

Also, personally, I think the awareness perks are more valuable than anything else. Knowing where the enemy is is 80% of the game, and until you have really great map/spawn knowledge, the awareness perks will save you more often than not, if you use them correctly.

Here's a little class that should help you get started, if you aren't high enough level for some of these switch out for something else:

VMP or Kuda or Weevil
quickdraw (ALWAYS use quickdraw on everything you can, except shotguns)
grip
sight of choice

Launcher of choice, for scorestreaks

Sixth sense (if you use this correctly, you can sense enemies behind walls and around corners)
fast hands (same as with quickdraw, if you don't use fast hands you are gimping yourself)
awareness (use headphones and PAY ATTENTION to what you are hearing!)
dead silence (helps with awareness because your own footsteps don't get in the way of the enemy footsteps)
Perk 3 greed (required to run awareness and dead silence at the same time)

War Machine specialist

You could also remove the launcher and the sight and run Flak Jacket to protect you from grenades.

There are also new contracts as well. Unfortunately, the 75 win weapon bribe doesn't reset if it was already completed which is lame.

Special Contracts are now available in the Black Market:
Total Victory: Record 75 wins and earn a Weapon Bribe and a bundle of 10 Rare Supply Drops.

Mercenary Contract: For the price of 90 Cryptokeys, Players will receive 60 minutes of Blackjack’s time.

8-bit Specialist Calling Cards: Earn 1 Calling Card for each Sub-Contract. Complete all 6 and unlock a bonus animated Calling Card.

Tools of the Trade: Unlock the Underworld Camo for all of your weapons.

With the exception of the Mercenary Contract players can only work towards one Special Contract at a time, so choose your Special Contract wisely. Replacing one Special Contract with another will reset any and all progress achieved towards the initial Special Contract.

Only the Vesper this time. Nerfed/unbuffed again. Exactly what do they want that gun to be?

Yeah I should've said it was just the vesper but what the hell are they playing at, as you say what so they want it to be?

The amount of gun tweaks to this game have been insane.

It's ridiculous. No need to pick up another gun off the ground if you have it as a secondary.

It's not really good outside close ranges though.

I don't see anything wrong with it, and I prefer the other two default pistols to it, actually.

Watch any competitive match, it's the secondary on 99℅ of classes. It one bursts up close and leads to some bullshit panic hip fire kills.

It has decent range too for a secondary.

Boxing gloves in?

As the animation please.

When is an enemy classed as an attacker in an objective game? I've got 2 contracts to kill 15 and 100 and I don't seem to be getting any. I play alot of safeguard and assumed killing someone escorting would count?

Edit: Nevermind switched to domination.

Domination is good. I think Hardpoint is probably the easiest for that.

I've been playing for about two hours now and have only won maybe two games of TDM. I just don't get how people are prestige rank 5000 are still so bad at this game. Just had a game where I went 28/7 and the rest of my team was 2/21, 0/15, 5/22. I don't get it.

Those guys are either:

A) Goofing off with weapon challenges/melee weapons
B) hacked accounts and are actually shit at the game

Community contract is up, accumulate 350'000,000 matches in total to get 3 animated emblems and the boxing gloves. The 3 animated emblems are awarded at 25%, 50% and 75% of completion of the contract and the boxing gloves at 100%. 14 days to complete all the matches, starts today and ends on September 2nd.

At 2% right now.

I think Treyarch aim way to high with 350 million matches, as of this morning the community is up to 5%.

I'd be surprised if the % doesn't magically start growing more as time goes on, especially if it looks like the number may not be hit. I can't imagine they wouldn't give out the rewards.

Is it recommendable to play through Black Ops II in order to understand the BOIII campaign? Are they connected?

I'm hesitant to because I honestly thought the pacing and level variety in the original BO campaign was really boring compared to the Infinity Ward games.

They're basically unrelated experiences. You'll be fine with no prior knowledge of the previous games.

The BOIII campaign has literally a single throwaway line to connect it to the BOII campaign. They might as well be completely different series story-wise.

I would rather you play Black Ops II instead of boring yourself to death playing Black Ops III's campaign.

Umm I liked the Black Ops 3 campaign and was surprised that it was actually a co-op campaign, but then again I haven't played COD games for a long time. Story was also decent especially with the twist that you probably won't realize until after finishing the game and checked out plot analysis about it.

It's got to be the worst campaign since Modern Warfare 3 and I'd probably prefer to play that than have to play through the blops3 campaign ever again.

There is at least something memorable or interesting in each story, whether its a particular set piece, location or even weapon or piece of equipment. This one has none of those things.
