Call of Duty: Black Ops III |OT| No Content For Old Gen

Yeah those complaints are far and few between. It's an easy game to pickup but hard to master like any Treyarch COD. It's balanced as fuck and play heaps you'll get better.

Maybe someone's netflixing or youtubing in the household.

I know how to play the game. I play (or played) solo TDM with a 3.2 kd. I'd just rather not play a broken game. I'll see how it goes when they release the server files and server browser.

I love shooting shit out of the sky though, and that's really hard in Redwood. And is it me or is Redwood pretty rare in the map rotation, only played on it twice so far.

Getting close to my second weapon prestige with the Kuda. Maybe it's time to play with another weapon. Maybe the Gorgon.

I see Redwood a lot really, I agree though I hate that I can't take out any of the UAVs or anything else. Fun map though

"Outcome. Train
Campaign
go boom"

SP was pretty weak in this game, extremely questionable dialogue, script and very dumb and cliche plot.

I haven't seen a lot of Haymakers. Lots of the burst AR but I might notice that more than other people because of my utter hatred for burst weapons since MW2.

What are the rules for weapon prestiging and normal prestiging? Like what do you keep and what do you lose?

Yeah, rarely see that map. Nor Exodus.

On launch day I had Havoc come up a lot, but not seen it since.

You're right, good luck taking out the UAV spam on Redwood! Bit of a shame, would be nice if there were a few areas without tree cover to do it.

So are people leaning towards ar or smg here? I'm really struggling as I run and gun but like to keep the option of picking people off at range

I don't know if I should equip a laser sight onto a assault rifle to make hip firing at extreme close range worthwhile or just go all out smg and sacrifice long shooting in this game

Long shooting doesn't seen to come into play often so maybe that's the way to do it?

Does laser sight do anything more than just help you line up where the enemy is?

A company being excited for their new game is a huge slap in the face to all the fans that liked their old games.
Haymaker is fine. In fact if anything it needs a buff to close range damage because it currently has no TTK advantage even in close range. If you are losing to the haymaker it's because you are missing so much that you gave the haymaker user enough time to kill you.

Yep.

I'm a Haymaker and Drakon hipster.

Started (ab)using that shit since day one.

i can confirm in the mission: Provocation, theres a section where there are a endless stream of soldiers running on a lower street, you can sit there and pop them for as long as you like, if you run out of ammo, theres a ammo crate upstairs, rince and repeat, im trying to see if i can find a better spot

Cool, thanks. Wanted to do a little grinding but saw the requirements and immediately gave up. lol

Sounds like the KN-44 would work nicely for you. Slap on Grip + Stock or Laser Sight and you should have an easier time.

There is also the Razorback for AR accuracy and SMG mobility, but that is unlocked late.

I agree with Domination and Haymaker, the vast majority of the people I'm running into are using it on that game mode.

I've grown to hate Redwood as that map is a combination of things I hate: inability to see the sky which renders my self proscribed role of "anti-air player" useless and it seems to favor long distance engagement which I am fuck awful at. I'm a camper and camping just doesn't work well there.

Metro is a fucking shitshow and I hate that map with a passion, I have NEVER gone positive on it.

The disparity between the quality of the SP and MP aspects is kind of unprecedented for COD.

I find myself hating the campaign, but already ranking MP in my top 3 for the franchise.

For sure. It may even be my favorite. BLOPS 1 was my favorite by far but I think this one may have taken the cake. I do want more unique modes. Treyarch has always had some interesting multiplayer modes but none of them brought in are new. They're all good, like uplink but there needs to be another captivating mode, akin to Gun Game.

I agree with basically everything you said.

Just sometimes, very very short moments, I wish the TTK was a tiny bit longer cause I feel I could have still done something. But then again, with the respawn time being seriously 0.5 seconds, it's not like a death takes you out of the game much

Yeah, TTK in beta was way to fast but I feel like I've had more moments in vanilla where I've been able to get away or do a quick turn and kill the person shooting at me. I feel like I'm doing pretty damn well too. I used to do really well in blops and mw days but after ghosts and aw my K/D hit it. Now I'm back up to positive K/D and my W/L ratio is positive.

Also, would love to play with you guys! Can someone send me an invite to the group on PSN? Is there a GAF clan or whatnot? Wouldn't mind starting one.

Thanks! Would you pick the KN-44 over the ICR out of curiosity?

I think the Haymaker is much more common on the PC than consoles, especially on smaller maps and the Nuketown playlist. PC plays very, very differently from the console version. People crank their FOV up to 120 and hipfire run and gun with the shotguns in a way that is simply impossible with a controller.

I'm almost exclusively a HC TDM player, so YMMV, but in my situation, yes because the ICR just doesnt have enough damage at range, so you get melted by the rest of the guns. Long Barrel will solve this for the most part, but without it, you lose any encounters at distance unless you get the drop on your opponent...

Now in core modes, the stability and accuracy of the ICR (especially with a grip) might make it work because you get more rounds on target, quicker

You get to add the emblem and clantag to your gun if that's your thing.

Hmmm so just more visual stuff. Is there any real, beneficial reason to prestige in Blops3?

I know you'll get more custom classes... but now with weapon variants and specialists they're even less necessary when you dial down on what you like.

As someone who doesn't care about camos and weapon skins and the like all that much... I really can't see myself prestiging. I'd MUCH rather have all weapons, specialists, attachments etc. unlocked and ready for use.

Anyone else feel the same?

Nothing but hate for the campaign from everyone here... :( Makes me really sad since it was my most anticipated feature... just grinding the campaign co-op with random people.

I only played the first 2 missions so far... heck, I played mission 1 three times (Local > Online > Co-op with a friend), and I honestly enjoyed it more every time...

Wouldn't that be a sign that I would enjoy more of the campaign mode? If I could get that much enjoyment just out of the first mission? And I found mission 2 quite amazing!

Interesting! Thanks for the advice! I did feel as though at range I wasn't getting as much mileage out of my ICR as I wanted which prompted me to switch to the Kuda for a bit.

I think I need to try the 44 with long barrel and laser sight and see how that compares to the Kuda and really if the game even warrants the extra range

Hey, if you enjoy it, you enjoy it. It's fine having a different opinion. If you get that much enjoyment just out of the first mission it's a pretty sure thing you'll enjoy the rest.

That's what I was thinking too... the first mission is mostly cutscenes and slow walking in the beginning... I'm sure it doesn't get much worst than that later on. However they better patch the ability to skip cutscenes, if they want people to replay this mode.

Something really funny about replaying the first mission,
you have robot arms during the replay, but when the robot at the end goes to rip them off, they suddenly change to normal arms again
lol

As one of the apparently few people who enjoyed the campaign, the campaign doesn't exactly get better after mission 2 in that you don't get to play with all the toys again for a while. But it didn't feel like it got any worse for me, and the further into the story you get the more bizarre it becomes. So I'd say keep going.

Can you open up your single player, so other can join you?
Will helping others give you the achievements for beating the levels?

I think it's a very fun Co op experience experience it's just the story isn't anything to write home about.

Anyone think they should add more RPG elements into the multiplayer?

Multiplayer is good as it is. But his new co-op campaign could use more.

I'd like this to be a bigger / better FUSE... but so far FUSE was the much better co-op shooter. FUSE's main problem is that you max out your skill tree WAY too quickly...

The campaign is great. People are wild.

Just a FYI, clan tag and Kill counter count as a attachment on your gun

What's this and where do I equip it?

Also, they need to speed up gun leveling a lot. At least for some weapons. I've got gold camo on the Argus and I still haven't reached level 12 with it. For full prestige, I'm expected to do that twice more. And that's just one gun.

That's crazy, I maxed the HVK-30 at about level 25, maybe earlier, but it's the only gun I've been using.

There's only one more campaign challenge that I need to complete. The "beat a level without dying on hardened, veteran or realistic" one. But there's always some kind of nonsense that happens which ends up killing me, even in the first mission so it's kind of pissing me off. Has anyone done this who has some tips about an easy level or loadout for it?

Where do you find these challenges? I thought the challenges were on each level (there's about 12-15 of them per level). Is that what you're talking about? If so, each level has a requirement to beat it without dying. At least I think so, but I'm only on level 3.

an other question: what is the difference between my avarage score per minute and K/D and my overall score per minute and K/D?

If you're talking about the scores on the summary page after a match, the average score per minute and the average K/D is the average for your last five matches. Then, underneath those boxes is your global/overall score per minute and K/D for all matches you've played.

I've grown to hate Redwood as that map is a combination of things I hate: inability to see the sky which renders my self proscribed role of "anti-air player" useless and it seems to favor long distance engagement which I am fuck awful at. I'm a camper and camping just doesn't work well there.

I liked Redwood the first two times I played it because I did well, but I think that was because everyone was new and no one had much unlocked. But now I hate it for the same reasons you mentioned. I also hate Metro because it's so dark--I never do well on dark maps. I remember there was a nightclub map in Blops 1 or 2 with neon rooms and other crap. Woof!

I also refuse to play Exodus and Breach. Thankfully Exodus never comes up in the rotation.

Id say at least prestige once. That way you unlock the prestige challenges, gives you some mote calling cards to earn and work towards.

Nine revelations I've had after playing about 8 hours of multiplayer:

1. I'm not as good at Call of Duty as I used to be.
2. There are like way too many entrances where dudes can sneak up on you for my feeble mind to notice/remember.
3. Everyone else's gun is stronger than mine.
4. FUCK, how did that guy kill me?
5. What the fuck, this is so cheap. I shot him like 6 times.
6. Deep breaths. Deep breaths.
7. Ok, yeah, this game isn't so hard. I'm not too bad at this.
8. FUCK, again? He shot me across the map with an SMG. FUCK.
9. Whatever, I'lll just play some Halo.

The more I play, the more I want a side dash. I miss it after a few weeks of Halo 5.

I had this same thought, too. It's sorely missed in Call of Duty.

.

It's throwing the baby out with the bath water. The thrust jump messed up Advanced Warfare's flow (the jumps making it so that the map didn't flow, with players jumping to anywhere from anywhere), but the side dash really helped the tactical elements and overall survivability of the game.

In BO3 if you pop your head out of a door and don't out-shoot someone it's probably sayonara. In AW you could boost away and get yourself into a better position.

What the dick is up with the team balancing? Just did a game of domination where there was four people in my team and nine(?) people in the other. How is that even possible?

Also, sometimes a game is about to start, and somehow a 13th player enters the lobby. The game stops the countdown and freezes as it tries to "balance" the team, and then continues when the 13th person leaves or is automatically kicked out.

What even?

Lol, I had a bunch of 8v5's in the beta and figured it was a bug that would be fixed. Unfortunately, it wasn't, as I've had the same in retail. But your 9v4 wins! The crazy thing is we won a lot of the 8 on 5's in the beta!

Played a game of Dom on Nuketown (mistake number 1) and everyone on the enemy team was using a Gorgon. They capped B and ran back to their house and just shot at us for days on end. We literally couldn't push up and ended the game at 200-47.

What the fuck?

I actually loved the campaign. The story wasn't Oscar worthy, but it was entertaining. I had no idea what the hell was gonna happen by he end. It was like I was playing COD on LCD. It was an enexpected surprise which I ended up enjoying.

What do you mean?

It's counts as if you would put a silencer on your gun?

So clan tag and kill counter or emblem and you couldn't use any other attachments? (without a wildcard)

agree...i sometimes actually wish the "ground boosting" was carried over to Blops3...it was the airborne stuff that drove me nuts in AW....boosting side to side, or backwards out of an encounter was really helpful in firefights

I don't know why I made this but...

No it doesn't take an attachment slot. If you have the kill count or tag equiped in your gun, it won't count ur kill count for a camo that requires no attachment with the gun
