If so, try and play online. If you receive a message saying something about your NAT (I do), it's your fault and not the game's.
I don't have it. My PS3 is set to DMZ

Now with a few days into multiplayer, I still not sure what think. The positives are the weapons, they all feel great compared to BLOPs which were unbalanced and the SMGs are actually worth using now. The new Killstreaks system feels good to me which is nice since I was worried about the Support Streak would mess things up.

Now for the bad, these maps are the worst in the whole series, too many ways around the maps and too many places to hide. Another big problem is lag, now all COD had lag but this is the only one that has it even with a 4 bar connection. Also, I preferred the leveling system and threater system in BLOPs, MW3 feels like a bare bone version.

As of right now I still rank BLOPs better then MW3 but I will give it more time because I am hoping that some issues can be fixed by a patch.

Uhmm.. I guess you already went to the NAT site on infinity ward's website, right? http://www.infinityward.com/nat.php

Log into your router and turn on UPnP (Universal Plug and Play), most routers have this option in the Administration tab.

The goal is to have an OPEN NAT in order to host Spec Ops games and get a wider selection of MP matches to join.

Also ensure that under your security options that Anonymous NAT Redirection is allowed and is not filtered. This may also be referred to as 'Filter InternetNAT Redirection' - in which case you want this disabled.

For more information on enabling UPnP on your router, visit your router manufacturer's website. A few of the most popular router web sites are listed below:

Linksys: http://www.linksysbycisco.com/support
Netgear: http://kb.netgear.com/app/
D-Link: http://www.dlink.com/support/
Belkin: http://en-us-support.belkin.com/

Have you tried playing the game even with NAT set to strict? I have my NAT set to strict and can't change the settings here (not on my house!), but it works smoothly. I get the warning message, but it's not affecting me at all.

You need to prestige first, then you can use those tokens to unlock stuff for future prestiges. I plan to use my 3 to unlock my favorite weapon and my two favorite perks.

Edit: Side note. I prestiged in COD4 last night, played a game, and it's still now showing in MW3, anyone know what that's about?

Thank you for help but I'm DMZ. I want it DMZ. I want it Open. Don't give a shit if it's in my head. My games are smoother and I get into games faster.

I want them to fix this. It's basic functionality and it doesn't fucking work.

EDIT: And now it magically fixed itself back to open.

I think it takes some time otherwise you can hit up support on Twitter and they are good about looking into it.

DMZ can be very flakey on some outers. Setting my 360 to DMZ used to cause it to drop downloads.

Where does it say founder at? I only see Premium on mine, but I unlocked both titles and emblems as well.

Saving all mine for unlocks. Everything else seems worthless by comparison.

EDIT: Is there something special you have to do to unlock founders status? Mine still just says premium.

Not sure about pro perks, but I unlocked the silent walking when I hit it, even though I'm not of level to even select it.

I got double XP, the emblem package, an extra class and unlocked tactical insertion (as it's barely possible to win Demolition without it on some of these maps). Will probably just spend the rest I get on class slots and the other two emblem packages since I just get bored playing with one weapon all the time anyway.

Unlock Gear just brings up a menu, like the create a class one, where you can go through every piece of gear available and select the one you want to unlock. Then it's available as soon as you unlock create a class in the future.

If you can unlock proficiencies, I might just unlock the Model 1887 damage prof in the hopes that it makes the gun not suck.

Funny enough, others say that the snipers are the most overpowered, others say the Type 95, and others say the ACR. With so many "overpowered" weapons, you'd think they are all on the same level, and in the end none is really so overpowered.

I'm fine with this balancing. MW2 did it too, but people hated using the strongest tools in that game for whatever reason.

Alienshogun said:
"fine" isn't the term I would use for that shotgun.

I wasn't trying to underplay it, so it's strange that's what you took from my post. If you're trying to imply it's broken, read the quote above. Also, once again, the Striker was not a shotgun we were complaining about.

.

So even if you're level 1 (prestige 1), you can still unlock any other weapon right ?

Had some bad and some good matches last night. I'm a horrible MP player overall (3rd match I played I went 3-20) but I'm having fun. Last night came in 2nd after an intense back and forth with #1! Go me.

Any tips for someone whose accuracy is in dire need of juice? Several times I'll be toe to toe with someone and my gun will go spraying all around like a scene from a movie where the idiot hero with a gun shoots everywhere but the target. I know it's nerves - can't pull off the needed kill in a pinch - but overall I could use some accuracy boost.

I'm using the Scar-L. Looks like the silencer is horrible for someone in my position.

You going to prestige? I'm pretty sure all the camos and attachments reset even if you have the gun "unlocked" with prestige tokens.

I have mine DMZ'd as well but it turns moderate after rebooting my console. Rebooting the router gets it back to open. I feel like the NAT Type indicator in MW3 is buggy rather than a problem on our end.

A couple of things to try.

Start shooting before you go ADS. You can shoot and activate ADS at the same time, so don't be afraid to squeeze a few bullets out while you're trying to acquire your target.

Also, when you're within close range, resist the hesitation to go into ADS. Your ADS targeting speed seems to be lower than your non-ADS sensitivity, and you need that cursor speed when targets are closing in on you. Just shoot and use the onscreen cursor. It will literally save your life more often than not. Use ADS in medium- to long-range situations.

Don't use a silencer if you plan on doing a lot of long-range shooting. The damage drop off at range (with a silencer) means you need to be very accurate in order to land the required amount of bullets. Silencers are great on SMGs if you plan on rushing behind enemy lines and don't want to be detected when you go on rampages. Be sure that your perks keep you hidden too, or a silencer isn't worth much.

Beyond that, the Kick proficiency always seems to help. When at long-range, use bursts. In short range, just hammer down on the trigger if you feel you need to. Remember that you have a secondary when you're out of bullets in your magazine in your main gun, however, so make use of it. It's not worth trying to reload under fire -- it takes less time to switch to your secondary. If they're dumb enough to try to reload, you can capitalize on their vulnerability with your secondary.

Another thing: try to lay off sprinting for now. There's a delay animation when spriting disengages where your weapon is raised. Instead, let your opponents sprint and take advantage of this vulnerability too.

Spend a day with the game.

SP: Beyond a few moments like the submarine and airplane it was just another boring slog through the campaign like Black Ops. Story continues to be a non-existent joke. The girl/car bomb moment was hilariously out of place. Art direction is a series low with bland grey/tan environments. Surround sound support was unbalanced with explosions being to loud while guns and dialogue were to low. And the whole game clocked in at 4 hours and 14 minutes for me on normal.

MP: Multiplayer is once again one big chaotic mess of kill streaks. Maps are too small and clustered. The spawn system breaks any good flow to matches. And the series trademark lag returns worse then ever because Activision is still too cheap to use dedicated servers. Every fight feels like a roll of the dice.

With this being the end of the trilogy it's time for Activision to do something different for next year. Blops 2 with the same template and graphics engine doesn't cut it anymore. Fans deserve better.

Haha, I think I have dug myself into a hole so deep I will never have a positive KD ratio.

The people I'm playing online are generally really rather good, I imagine they have played every installment relentlessly.

Nevermind, it's fun anyway, and without a skillbased match making it won't be any other way ever.

It's still early yet. You can still shape your K/D. You just have to work for it. It could be worse, the game could be out for like 4 years now like COD4 where I cant get my K/D to budge to save my life.

Kronotech what's your sensitivity? I see a lot of people run a higher sensitivity than they can handle, it's great spinning around fast 'n all but if you can't hit the fucker there's not much point.

Try at 2-3 see if your accuracy improves.

Who cares about your KD ratio? It's more of an indicator of how skilled you were when you started playing. If you're actively trying to learn and improve, you will get better, as will your KDR. How you perform in the moment-to-moment of any given game is more important.

With X360, anyone else from problems inviting or accepting game invites? When I invite, my friend don't get a message. When I try accepting an invite, error "can't join session". We have to manually join the same lobby, but then, we don't see each other on the mini map or we could be on opposite teams. Seems, google, others are having this same issue.

Best tip I can give is to slow down your game a bit. Let people sprint into you, as opposed to sprinting right into their sights. Keep moving constantly, but avoid using sprint unless you need to get to an objective SUPER FAST, are running away from grenades, or are trying to take cover from killstreaks because you don't have the means/perks to deal with them.

Seriously since a CS:S KDR obsession a few years ago. I don't even bother about mine as long as i'm top three at the end of the match, i'm all good.

So how is the PS3 version so far? Any noticeable frame rate drops in MP? How is the MP in general and connection wise? Black Ops was absolute shit connection wise for me... I can count on two hands the number of times I got 3 bars

I always suck at these games at first because I don't play them year-round like the majority of people online seem to (played MW2 for about five months consistently, Black Ops for three). It takes a while for the muscle memory with aiming and stuff to kick back in, but for me, half the fun is getting better.

Regarding sprinting, I almost wish I could disable it sometimes. It seems to get me killed more often than it helps, but I just do it subconsciously.

Exactly. Another thing about KDR fiends is that they're so worried about it that losing is made that much more painful. You're going to have the occasional game where you get your dick stomped in no matter how good you are -- there's always someone better. Accepting this sooner means you can start to learn from losses in order to get better faster.

It released on Thursday but it doesn't really matter. They knew the kind of demand it was going to have, the same can be said for the online performance. Every year and they still end up having to release patches. It's a billion dollar franchise, people expect more from it.

The extreme highs and lows are what make the game so addicting to me.

The one thing i found about this game over Blops is running too much will get you done in quickly, Though sometimes the right combination can work.

I have a run and gun loadout with Sleight of Hand Pro,Extreme Conditioning pro and Quickdraw Pro you basically have the drop on most players with that one i've found.
Your speed will surprise them and being able to aim down the sight lightning fast puts them down quickly add in a PP90M and just go crazy.

I was doing some crazy numbers running that one last night.

Can't believe they don't have objective stats on the screen in OBJECTIVE GAME MODES.

Totally gives the haters another excuse to run wild on those game modes and just concentrate on K/D.

The fucking objective modes in this game are even more unplayable than MW2, and just when they were starting to get better in BLOPS, too.
