Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 |OT| Got 99 Problems, But Sales Ain't One.

I know how you feel man, that initial grind is brutal. Especially once you get bored of using the same starting weapons for the first 30+ levels.

But who am I kidding I'm playing this game everyday till the next COD.

Are you min/maxing the challenges or just dumping a ton of time into it?
We're playing a lot, but his "secret" was running Specialist very often. It's basically an XP printer! (I'm 10th too.)

Was at 6 days and a couple hours when I finally hit 10th, now I'm working my way up to lvl80.

Didn't really min/max challenges, apart from getting pro perks and running specialist.

We're playing a lot, but his "secret" was running Specialist very often. It's basically an XP printer! (I'm 10th too.)
Even if it didn't give tons of XP I would still run specialist most of the time :)

'Reduce hipspread'? Doesn't that mean it'll be better in CQB?

And did extended mags on shotguns reduce pellets before this fix? Or did EM give more than intended?

I'm curious about this too. My understanding of the reason the Type95 was unbalanced was that it was way more effective close-range than other assault rifles. This doesn't sound like a nerf...

I'm going to go on right now to see if I can still get those USAS kills like I used to. If it becomes unusable I am probably going to either switch to LMGs, the PM9 or the 1887 w/damage.

I refuse to be yet another guy running with what everyone else is using.

EDT: Nvm, the patch isn't out yet. My shotty still gets 2-3 hit long range kills
 
I understand fixing something that isn't working as intended, but they need to do something with the shotguns that doesn't resemble nerfing them even more.

They need to do the following to fix them (although the striker needs a slight closerange buff as well as a long range nerf):

- Make The Spas-12, 1887, and KSG all do 40 damage per pellet at close range (there is no reason the shotguns should do LESS damage per pellet than they did in previous call of duties)
- Make the USAS, Striker, and Masterkey deal 30 damage per pellet at close range
- Make the AA-12 deal 20 damage at close range (it does a measily 15 right now)
- Reduce the Striker's ranged damage to 5 instead of 15. It'll still be easy to get kills with it thanks to it's tight spread and spamability.
- Make the USAS fire faster. That way it would be better at long range while also giving.
- GIVE THE AA12 MORE AMMO. Why the fuck would anyone use a primary that requires scavenger in order to take out more than two enemies.
- Change the Specialist package so that you don't unlock all the proficiencies when you reach the specialist bonus. That way the shotguns won't be overpowered when you reach said bonus.

All good fixes, but I'd add:

- LOWER the damage per pellet for the Striker. It's just really weird and confusing that it's both stronger AND fires faster than the USAS.
- Raise the rate of fire of the KSG12 a bit. Confusing as hell too - why would they make a slow-shooting gun that's also weak as fuck?

Unrelated, but I really started grinding the SPAS today and, damn, it's a lot better than I initially thought. You just have to run Steady Aim and make sure every single shot is hipfire and it actually works fine without any proficiences. I'm pissed that they're already pushing the extended mags nerf though, just when I'm a few hours of play away from giving them a shot. Also pissed that they're refusing to touch the T95. :(

Can someone check something for me on the ps3 version?

On multiplayer, I have 1 day, 6 hours played according to the main menu.

22 hours played according to barracks.

23 hours played according to elite app.

Is this normal? Anyone else's like this? Why would I have 3 different times logged?
 
Played quite a bit yesterday. Last time I played prior to that was a week ago. I went from 80 to prestige to 30. Logged in and got the ole patch prompt. I dont know what happened but I'd be surprised if I went positive in 20% of my matches. Everything just felt way off and it was very frustrating to the point I dont even want to play it today or probably anytime soon. It wasnt because I prestiged and it wasnt just me being "rusty". Something was not right at all.

As time goes on you see more people going to the top tier weapons which seem to be:

ACR
MP7
PP90
Type 95
MSR
Striker
Dual Machine Pistols

Which means that whatever weapon you are using isn't as likely to do as well against opponents than they were back when people were still figuring out which weapons are top tier. The MP7 was overlooked by a lot of people until recently.

Can someone explain to me how it's possible that the game lags IN THE MENUS?!
I just had this happen to me for the first time in a few weeks (I thought one of the patches fixed this, I guess I was wrong). Then the "players online" count said zero, the leaderboards weren't loading, and eventually I got kicked offline. I think the servers are jacked.

Ok, thought it was just me. I assumed it was them pushing out the hot fix but so far it's still .13.

So what's everyones TDM KD? I feel like I do alright at 1.90. Not too great but no slouch either. I'd say I'm in a party of two or more 65% of the time.

So I'm not the only one experiencing lag every time it adds players to a server then. I was worried because it appeared like my xbox was having trouble processing MW3 sounds or something.

Yeah it's not just you apparently. Though I was experiencing the same type of stuttering lag in-game as well during that period. It seemed to last about 10 minutes then it went away.

I assume that the game can lag in the menus because it is always sending information to the Elite servers about your classes and whatnot. That's why you can see your classes on the Elite page you have. Crazy.

If a shot doesn't get flared away, and it doesn't hit a stupid tree (that isn't supposed to count as scenery anyway) or a building, and I have a clear shot, it's NOT SUPPOSED TO MISS.

That's an easy 4 or 5 kills for a strafe run when your first shot is botched, you're in Ground War, everyone else is dumb, and you don't have Blind Eye.

Ya I don't think there is this "hot fix" those machine pistols are still around and just as good.
Also this game just turned into a straight up camp fest, for kill confirmed alllllll day atleast. Hate cod community and kdr whores. Crazy how people pay $60 to sit in a room and look at a door way...

Has the patch gone live yet or are they doing the rolling thing again?
I would imagine it will roll out late overnight (PST). It's a hot fix, too, not a patch, so it should go live for everyone at the same time.

This happened to me a couple times and for some reason my stinger missile turns around in mid-air and then destroys the chopper about 8 seconds later. Really bizarre.

didnt get it, do you have to have a elite "plus" account? i only have the free/basic elite
 
playing with the pump action shotties is just pure masochism. even if I get in close enough range for the kill it's hardly ever a one shot. I mean of course I get glancing blows that shouldn't kill anyway, but I'm talking about those dead-on, right in the chest shots. very frustrating.
