Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 |OT| Got 99 Problems, But Sales Ain't One.

Good video, but personally I think what makes the Type 95 so powerful isn't simply the damage but the combination of the damage and rate of fire, allowing you to pretty much spam the gun easily (especially when you put rapid fire on it). If they gave it the M16's Rate of Fire but kept the damage the same it would be a great medium range weapon while still keeping it from being too easy to hipfire kill someone.

Agreed. That and make it a 3 bullet kill at all ranges.

See, the thing is that I actually wouldn't have a problem with them keeping it at 55 damage if they made the choices for the burst ARs :

M16: 900 RPM (somewhat slower than what type 95 currently has right w/out rapid), 40-25 damage

Type 95: 730 RPM (slightly slower than what the M16 currently has w/out rapid) 55-20 damage

That way there were would be situations for each one. The M16 would clearly be better at long range while the type 95 would be a more effective medium range weapon.

By the way, if any of you wanna put together a full team or do some challenges or whatever, I'll be playing tomorrow from about 11am - 4pm pacific time. Just send an invite!

I can't believe they still haven't announced a single map pack. Game has been out a month an a half, and they're supposed to push out four in a year if I recall correctly. Need to get some value for my Elite damn it!

We were actually promised "monthly content" on Elite. They never said that was map packs, but we haven't even gotten camo or anything for december (nor november) and we obviously aren't. Elite is a piece of shit and I consider it near fraud.

Why are there still no clan features and no way to earn clan XP? Why still no "operations" for Europe? Why hasn't basically anything happened with the site, in the way of features or announcements, since they finally fixed the awful launch? Why are they focusing exclusively on pushing out pointless video content that hardly anyone watches instead of delivering the content my game box promises? Somebody in a country where lawsuits actually work should seriously sue...

Could not have put it better myself.

It's only a 9 month DLC "season". I'd imagine they would start in Jan or Feb and finish in Sep/Oct for the next COD in November.

Yeah Elite is a joke right now. Not only is the clan system useless but the stat tracking is not even as in-depth as Black Ops in-game stat tracking. Oh and Elite is constantly getting the stats wrong. The recent games lists are always out of order or just have the wrong dates attached.

Also I've hit my 24 hour limit on double XP. :( Now I'm just collecting codes for prize entries.

DLC starts in "early 2012" according to the 4000 MS point card I just bought that advertizes Elite.

I'm gonna be on until 12:00 PM tonight if anyone wants to form a team with me.

coughineedteamtesbadlycough

I'm on now. Not sure what time zone you're in.

If anyone else wants to party up my GT is: SEBattleship. I'm in the clan so you can just invite me through the in-game friends list if you're in the clan as well.

What did the supposed "lag compensation" patch do? I'm getting laggier games since the latest patch.

Yeah, I'm still getting constantly one-shotted by guns that don't kill in one shot.

I don't get it. MW2's netcode was near-flawless for me. No idea how they fucked it up so bad.

fix this shit IW

Its been the exact opposite for me. Non-stop shitty connections before the patch. 5 straight days of good/decent connections since.

This is a good fix. Nerfing the damage of the T95 is straightforward and kind of works, but in this instance it would just make the weapon a bit bland. Making a weapon boring to use is one of the dangers of nerfing any weapon and I don't want to see the wrong type of fix applied.

The first DLC pack arrives on 24th January :)
"Not only in how you can get it - in content drops or choose for the collection - but also the type of content you're getting. We're doing more than just maps. We're going to do Spec Ops missions and a variety of things that players have never seen before."

"That's the great thing about having three developers that are contributing to the season of content. You have Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer and Raven all pitching in. The full season of content for Modern Warfare 3 kicks off for Elite subscribers on January 24 on Xbox Live."

No mention of PS3.

What did the supposed "lag compensation" patch do? I'm getting laggier games since the latest patch.
I haven't noticed a single thing. I actually am completely fine in almost all games...until I pull host and that's when things turn really bad.

It's really frustrating too because my connection I guess is above average so I'll be in a room and doing great and then in between matches it seems to just randomly switch hosts to me even though nobody has left. I'll go from games where I'm 30 and 5 to a game where I'll be 1 and 8. Leave the game and every time, there's the host migration screen.

At this point, I'm really starting to look at ways to somehow make my connection look slower than it is. It's really bad on weekends when I play where basically if I join a game in progress I'll play fine and then the next game it'll usually migrate hosts to me.

So it seems like nobody is complaining about the maps anymore, and we've all moved onto the lag problems.

What's the consensus on the maps? There are a few that I really love, and I'm even enjoying Downturn these days. I hated them at first but I think that was because they really forced me to change how I play COD games. Big fan now.

I think it was discussed a while ago, but there are players who are intentionally slowing there connection before a match so they won't get hit with the lag compensation stick.

The first DLC is set to drop on January 24th. It sounds like instead of releasing packs they'll be releasing stuff piece meal; a new map here, a new spec-ops mission there, etc.

I think my main problem with most of the maps is the spawn system. If the spawning was better I would like them all better

The maps are still shit, it's just there is no use in complaining about what can't be undone.

That was always how it was going to be. Even in their press during the CoD event, they said it would come out one at a time for elite subs instead of one big map pack. Regular users just wait for the big map pack release.

Sounds like it lessened how much you were compensated for your terrible connection.
Har har. I can enjoy games on Reach and MW2 without lag and shots not connecting.

Most of the default maps seem to be designed around the Wasteland and Rundown style of MW2; Control a central area and you control the map. There's really no good places to fight aside from the center area. Add dynamic spawns(with seemingly no control over enemy proximity) across all maps and they just become a clusterduck.

I will gladly download the Spec Ops stuff, assuming it's mission modes. I just wonder if they'll suck me into getting the MP maps by making them Spec Ops survival, like the default maps are.

the spawns really are just line of sight. There are no spawn zones. It's a really bad system.

Is this really the case? It would explain why it's so bad, especially on Ground War.

If they were to do some remakes of previous maps, what maps would you guys want? I'm all for Highrise, Afghan, Crash, Bloc, Wetwork, and maybe a few others.

From extensive review of killcams, I'd say it is. You can spawn right in front of someone, as long as they can't actually see you when you do. On the other side of it, you can also spawn directly behind someone too, which explains why you keep getting killed from behind, especially places you just checked

also I want Favela back. Such good routes.

these maps are nothing like Wasteland and only the only map in MW3 that's similar to Rundown is Village. Over time I've come to the conclusion that spawning in MW3 seems fucked only because of how compact the maps are and all of the numerous pathways there is to every area( leading to easy revenge kills ). Th.e issues people are having with spawning in MW3 were somewhat present in MW2, it's just that these issues are being exacerbated by these tight and cluttered maps.

I don't know...

Yesterday I was playing Domination on Village(a map I'd consider pretty big) with my clan. We had B and C capped. My buddy was running towards C flag and I was just coming around a corner and someone spawned in between us! It was more of a double screwover because if I hadn't been there to shoot the enemy in the back, he definitely would have shot my teammate in the back instead. It was a spawn too, not a tac insert.

Not sure its a good idea to do it that way. Its severely going to limit the people you can play against when only premium members have the maps. Gonna be harder to find a good connection.

I've noticed a lot of lag when playing at my office, which has At&T U-verse. I sometimes feel like I am just getting raped constantly and people seem to pop out of no where to kill me. At home however ( Cox Cable Internet) I am constantly getting "lucky" kills where I wonder how the hell I pulled off the kill. I am constantly in the top 3 of the team and have a wonderful time playing. I guess my connect at work just sucks.

I have no idea if this was from Live or from the same one as COD Elite is giving out. Does that mean I now have TWO months of Elite for free?

Is it just me or is there way more aim assist on snipers then any other guns in the game? Feels like as long as an enemy is anywhere inside the cross hair the bullet magically goes to them.

It's honestly ridiculous. Their scope doesn't even need to be fully up to do it. Bring back Black Ops sniping please.

They're bad, really bad. But the most obvious issues is the base gameplay, which the lag/spawns effect most.

Usually in COD maps, there's areas or parts of the map I used to tell myself, "I'm never going on that path since so many people die there. I'm going to take the longer, alternate path and flank." But I can't seem to find the danger areas in MW3, EVERYWHERE is a danger area.
