Call Of Duty WW2 reveal 26 april, website up [UPDATE: Leaked screenshots]

Can't wait to see what a world war 2 game will look like for this gen.

Really excited for this, especially if they capture the Cod 2 and WAW aspects

High hopes but low expectations. The setting is perfect and it's what I want....I worry about the execution i.e. map design, too much buying shit, etc...

I don't have a dog in this race because I don't really care about CoD but I hope MS was able to get the marketing rights to this, they need something, I think CoD, Assassins Creed and maybe a third mystery third party would be a good start

Sony has the rights for a few years still, I'm pretty sure.

My biggest hope is that the map design is somewhat similar to Advanced Warfare, IW games (excluding Ghosts), and Treyarch's earlier games.

I just hate Black Ops 3's lazy three-lane maps so much. The other CoDs had them but they were fewer in number and more cleverly made.

I feel like internal at activision probably played out like Back to the Future with execs yelling "WE HAVE TO GO BACK!"

I dunno. I just see this move as redundant (The last COD I played was Ghosts because I was fucking bored and wanted a game for my PS4 back in early 2014 and it was a
stupid as fuck timesink)

I just find it funny that after the oversaturation of WW2 shooter back in the early 2000's lead to the oversaturation of the modern military shooter in up to the early 2010's which then caused and oversaturation of the futuristic shooter, we went back to WW2.

If they go 3 straight Cods all being WW2 then they haven't learned their lesson these past 3 years

Treyarch's CoD should be a modern take and IW should stick with the future. Maybe people will be more open minded about IW's take then given how good Infinite Warfare actually was, at least from a campaign perspective.

well it's back to fucking ww 2 fps games.
time to get the fuck out again like i did when that last flood happened.

see you guys back when they start making interesting games again

Infinite Warfare 2 needs to double down on the elements in the first campaign. Like they need to have more ship to ship battles and the such. Let you also explore more of the ship between missions.

IW was a really good beginning but now I want to see them expand on it. They also need to get Brian Bloom back to write it and just improve on the villain because the character writing was the best in the entire series.

I hope they explore more than just the usual American/German settings.
There are just so many countries involved in this conflict, i hope they get some love by the devs and writers.

Authentic WW2 360 quick scopes?

Hope they slow down the MP and reduce the reliance on gadgets and attachments. But they can't turn that in to micro transactions so probably not.

They were able to figure out three WWII titles the first time they did WWII. You could do a whole game on the Burma campaign alone.

Exactly, there's a shitload of WWII that games haven't even touched. I really hope this game doesn't repeat Normandy and Stalingrad. Honestly I think World at War didn't do the Pacific theater real justice.

I don't know how anyone finds it fun.

Still have PTSD from 64 player PC Modern Warfare servers.

Oh man, I remember trying to play Shipment with like 40 players.

I never got over the burnout form the 100 WW2 games that were released in the 90s and early 2000s.

I feel like I'm the only person who absolutely does not want to go back to using shitty rifles with shitty scopes with no maneuverability.

Yeah, they've got some good groundwork laid out for a futuristic CoD. Certainly stronger than Treyarch's, although Sledgehammer's was also solid. Both Sledgehammer and IW have that CoD campaign loop down to a science. I think if people go back to IW, if they skipped it last year, they'll be shocked at how good it is.

But I do wonder if they'll stick with the name or if they feel it's kinda tainted in the same way that Ghosts was. They may want to stick with the general time period but move on to a different name.

Probably stick with it. Infinite Warfare is still a fine name. Cause despite what some may think, Activision does care about the Single-Players. They allow them to market the game so much easier. Infinite Warfare saw a lot of praise on the campaign front and so I think marketing a sequel would be quite easy.

This all makes me want to reinstall COD2, but back in the day I was dumb enough to buy the physical version that came on 6 CD-ROMs and I don't wanna pay Activision $19.99 on Steam.

Oh man, the mention of the Burma campaign has me thinking about Gurkhas now.

I agree that Sledgehammer and IW have always made the best COD campaigns in terms of pacing and level design, even post-MW3.
