Call Of Duty WW2 reveal 26 april, website up [UPDATE: Leaked screenshots]

They have got to update their game engine. It's utterly ridiculous that with a game of such high budget they still don't have destructible environments.

'But that's not COD' true. But are they going to continue making the same game with a barely changing engine forever? Would be nice to have an overhaul and bring gameplay into the next-gen with destructible environments.

What does that even mean? you realize they are in a camp right? so why should they be all muddy?

I don't know, but what I'm seeing doesn't seem right... I'm not sure how else to describe it other than calling it too 'clean'.

Like, look at that gun - it looks straight out of a factory.

well it's back to fucking ww 2 fps games.
time to get the fuck out again like i did when that last flood happened.

see you guys back when they start making interesting games again
The door is right over there. Have fun with your onslaught of Modern/Futuristic shooters. I hear Mass Effect Andromeda is doing great these days.

On an engine level it looks too 'clean', imo. Really flat... I'm not sure how else to describe it.

And look at that gun - it looks straight out of a factory.

I agree it doesn't look how I expected. Everything seems all shiny and clean, almost plastic'y. Hard to describe.

Vietnam has also been done plenty. But one of the bloodiest wars in Asia, the Korean war, somehow get's little attention.

Yeah, but we haven't had a take from COD on it (not that they make the best games, but their games hold up over time). I loved Vietcong back in the day, I'd love to see them go that route. Or WWI... or the Korean War... or hell, a modern land invasion in NK if we want to fantasize.

From those screens the graphics looks 5 years old. It feels pasted and placed in a strange way. Compared to Battlefield this looks plastic. Hope the game is good tho.

Hmm, yeah well it's a really low res screenshot.

It will be improved before launch. There's always complaints about the graphics when the first trailers are released and then by the time we get to Beta time, the graphics look a lot better.

Like people were saying it about IW when it was first revealed and now if you play it on the PS4 Pro at 4K it looks phenomenal.

I just noticed the guy on the right is all like; the fuck are you doing man?

Probably thinking "What camera are you posing for?".

They may have to completely redesign the game engine as destruction is something the engine never has had before and the developers have to consider how much destruction will change the gameplay.

Black Ops 1 partly took place in the Vietnam war.

Even had a Deer Hunter Russian Roulette homage.

Can I get 420 yolo on my WW2 soldiers 😎

I wonder how they will handle taunts and other call of duty stuff from infinite warfare
People liked buying those gestures from loot boxes

In that pic, he is using the area between his thumb and index finger, with his wrist crossing under the stalk, to support the weight of the gun.

Sure, not something you do constantly. But its a snapshot. Like a photograph. That soldier is at ease and looking to loosen his hands a bit.

Straight after Anzac Day, how fitting. Let's hope they've fine tuned the gunplay to not sound like cap guns and that they actually try this time round to be authentic.

But if it runs at 60fps, it would be ok.
Yeah, Cod games also runs at stable 1080p 60fps on consoles in multiplayer while Battlefield 1 900p 60fps and 720p 60fps on Xbox one. Though Battlefield has a much larger player count, bigger maps, more destruction etc which is still impressive running at 60 but not too stable 60 in multiplayer

If cod reduced resolution like Battlefield then they can get some more headroom for more added visuals

ew i'll pass. enough of this WW crap. even after the long break it's still not enough. i won't be buying another Battlefield/Cod game until they go back to modern/futuristic settings.

For real? You're not sick of buying essentially an incremental improvement of the same game every year? Besides, I'm sure they'll keep releasing CoD games for a modern setting too. If they alternate each year between WW2/Modern/Futuristic, then maybe their games won't seem so samey all the time.

I'm still convinced we will see soldiers with glowing green weapons storming Omaha Beach.

Surprised so many are going to buy this after ignoring the franchise for the last years.

Box art is perfection.

It's not busy, nor is it depicting some generic gun-wielding grunt half-encased in shadow and smoke. It stands out and for once in a long while it resonates emotion.

I hope the game isn't all about set pieces. I want something a little more grounded. Like the original Brothers in Arms.

Ok, I just want a remake of the original Brothers in Arms.

But I hope this turns out good. I think a good enough amount of time has passed since the last good WWII game.
