Callisto Protocol Gamescom 2022 gameplay 4K

Is it just me or does the character not really look like her? Maybe just me

Definitely her though, unless she's voicing someone else in the game lol
The game screenshot reminded me of her character from The Boys. That is how it stood out to me. It's her.

The photo I shared is professional makeup with contour.

Looked a little dissapinting to be honest, especially when they chose this footage to show and impress us.

Still its a Dead Space style game made by the Dead Space devs. They had already sold me on the game.

How long do you want the water slide sequence to be? YES

Also, I hope there's some sort of mechanic that prevents me from abusing scenario weapons. Otherwise why would you just waste bullets when you could just throw all of them to the chainsaw machine?

I hope they polish the movement. Not a fan of the running attack moves as it looks tacky like they are sliding towards each other.

Looked great, maybe the melee needs a little polish, but other than that, this looks like it could bethe next Dead Space i've been waiting for years.
Glad that i pre-ordered it.

Looks fun but at the same time it also looks a bit off.
Like the animations in particular look rather janky. For example when the monster transforms at 1:37 it does a weird arm movement that looks like it was animated at 3fps.

The lighting, design, and human faces are great. The textures, animation, not so much.

Yeah and that crouch walk looks awful, like placeholder animation.

Seems Gamescom is full of disappointments. This looks distinctly last gen. I pre-ordered this, so I hope this was just a bad showcase.

3 minutes of gameplay and you choose to fill it mostly with a slip and slide segment...

Graphics look decent, the sound design seems great, but i dont know about the game itself, the gameplay looks alright but leaves vague question marks, the powerful abilities? not sure about that.

Maybe they showed the last gen version?

Coz that was very underwhelming compared to what we've been shown previously

I really think they could have chosen some more exciting gameplay segments

I'm not feeling it, it looks PS4 generation, there is a lack of fluidity and I'm not seeing anything that Dead Space particularly the combat already did well on 360.

And that sequence was completely useless and very quickly annoying.

This new video actually put me off the game. Not sure why, though. Powers and dodging made it look too easy. It's like TLOU2 meets dead space.

Snooze fest alert 🚨. Seemed okay until they showed the main getting fucked up and then being able to just use some op ass gravity thing to throw tentacle guy into the spinning spikes. Better toggle them cheat codes before release or we are looking at a 6…maybe 7 out of 10.

Ok, after seeing this video and previously being hyped, now not so much.

On reflection on what they chose to show, it looks like it may be a little repetitive, the animations were janky, the gore/blood looked very unrealistic. That power where he holds and throws the enemies looks like it will get a bit spammy and boring. Devs will choose to show what they think are highlights of the game or show off exciting features, if this is what they decided to show then I'm a little worried. I was hoping for something new and different, not a more polished version of 50 other games we've played before.

I'm still somewhat excited for the game but I have my reservations.

I don't get some of the hate here. Picking up and throwing an enemy into a bunch of spinning spike columns is not fun? In Dead Space you could throw poles at the necromorphs. Also, couldn't you ramp up the difficulty if you think the dodge mechanic is too cheap?

Yes it was a little bit disappointing. I hope it's iMproved. But it is from the same guy that created dead space so there is still hope. Technically it is not the best. I hope the story is good.

The visuals and specially the animations looks underwhelming after all their AAAA talk.
The water slide bit looked lame and I'm not sure why that's something they thought they'd focus on showing in what might be their last big stage presentation before the game launches.

But I agree people are overreacting to the whole telekinetic powers. I doubt they'll just make you super OP, the power is probably tied to some sort of energy bar or you'll need to damage anyone other than the most basic enemies up to a certain point to use it on them, etc.

I think it looks damn amazing, though I am confused about the single combat encounters. It seems like it takes him a lot of ammo and melee swings to take out one enemy (not counting environmental hazards). Do we not fight hordes of the things DS style? I wouldn't mind stronger and fewer enemies at all, but if you're going to showcase combat, showcase the combat. The unnecessarily long slip and slide is fine in game but not something to show the world to win them over.

I hope it's good. Dead Space is one of my faves. It's a western studio though so I won't get excited about it until we see it out in the wild.

I'll admit it's not too comforting seeing 4 software engineer interns on the studio roster. Not after seeing the complete joke of a physics engine in Saints Row.

Is there a 60 fps feed?

Not the best demo to give. Some last of us 1 lite gameplay and throwing multiple baddies into the same meat grinder then an awful on rails water slide section......

...strange choice.

That water slide part was videogame as fuck. Very nitpicky, but those columns he had to dodge looked like they were placed to solely for the purpose of being dodged in a sliding-on-rails-cinematic sequence. A bit silly for a game selling itself on immersive sci-fi action horror. Great looking water effects though.

As a whole, not too sold on the game yet. I imagine it looks better being played in person but aside from good visuals it doesn't (seem) to have the same pizazz Dead Space originally had.

It has become a common practice to show a lame gameplay video first and delay it according to the reactions. I hope they are doing exactly that.

I wonder if people would have been mad if they just completely copied Dead Space's combat game-play? Unless I missed something (probably), focusing on shooting the limbs would have at least made the game more unique than "The Last of Us in space."
