Hello, my pc is starting to show its age (8700k, 2070, ddr4 etc) and since the new cards are releasing soon im looking to get something new. It's been 6-7 years and im a bit overwhelmed with what to go for and just have a couple of questions, i've always gone with intel but don't have loyalty to any company and with all i've read im leaning more towards amd for the cpu, so id like to know:
1. what cpu should i go for? everything ive read suggests the 7800x3d but i cant give close to 800 bux (australian) for a cpu, im leaning towards a 7700x/9700x. Anything else I could go for to save a bit of cash or should i go with one of the two i mentioned? Are they good enough for the next for years?
2. Any major differences between the x670,x870 and b850 motherboards? ive narrowed it down to either msi or asrock since they come with optical input (for my headphones), b850 seems to be the cheapest but im not sure if theyre lacking anything that could be important.
3. Should I attempt to build it myself and save $150-200 instead of getting the store to do it? My main concern is f'ing something up
Any advice would be much appreciated, im in Australia so prices will be different. With all the parts ive chosen the total is about 3500-3600 (including the fee to build it)
