Capcom has just registered 'Dragon's Dogma Online' trademark in Europe [and Japan]

Honest question: why does everybody and their mom feel the need to make an MMORPG? Don't most of them end up failing/going F2P fairly quickly?

I honestly think Deep Down is Dragons Dogma in some form.
Even though it's adding changes to the original game, the idea of capcom having two fantasy games that aesthetically are so similar I find really odd.
They have almost nothing alike except a fantasy setting, and even Deep Down has that extra layer of stupid with the whole animus conceit.

Dat PSN money.

CAPCOM is gonna crazy with dlc/microtransactions on both SF and DD.

Enhanced ports with new assets?
I doubt either SF or Dragon Dogma will sport big changes or run on new engines

All the hype and Capcom has not one but TWO games... that I have absolutely no interest in whatsoever :(

I miss the Dreamcast/PS2 Capcom era :(

... We are getting another Dragon's Dogma ? I mean it can't be a coincidence can it ?

Dragon's Dogma + Street Fighter, and the show still haven't started... Is this week going to live up to the *insane* hype... ?

Ah, rebranding Deep Down

Deep down seems nothing like dragons dogma....being f2p would make it more like deep down.

That's the fear, that Deep Down (a working title) was actually a reimagining of Dragon's Dogma, with F2P. I'm fine with online games, Dark/Demons' Souls are spectacular, but taking Dragon's Dogma and changing the game to something micro-transaction heavy isn't appealing to me.

That fantasy setting is what i'm talking about.
Though to be fair Capcom has two games with "zombies" as the main focus so who knows.

I'm excited beyond repair by a new dragon dogma ; but online is something that can go wrong fast .

I need screens, info , stuff , something

HELP

"They're masterworks all , you can't go wrong !"

I'M READY ...BRING IT !

If the game is basically just Dragon's Dogma with actual players instead of pawns, I am 500% for it.
Ideally it's this, it could be crazy fun even if you just get randomly assigned people I'm sure, whereas a full on MMO would be more boring and I wouldn't know what to make of a F2P game until I saw it and played it some, but I never really get into those and I'm always hesitant about what the catch(es) are.

Part of the reason why I liked Dragon's Dogma was because it was offline.
Not sure I would care too much for an online version.

Anybody remembers when they were feeding us this ?

Did it actually ever happen or did they just leave it for this online version ?

From what I recall that happened but it would be just your party fighting with the dragon and you wouldn't see or interact with other players other than seeing the HP bar go down.

Also nice ava.

Man, I just hate when publishers turns the best single player games into online games. I couldn't care less about the online, and even less for F2P.

These European trademark filings are usually fake; they are posted before they are verified

or as they told CVG after one of the umpteen hoaxes:
A spokesperson for OHIM could not comment on individual cases, but provided CVG with documents which explained how anyone can apply for a trademark - meaning the website is exposed to fakes for a short period of time.

One key sign for all community trademark applications of this kind is a "classification examination" tick box. Until OHIM officials tick this box, the application is unverified.

So much reaction from so little info.

I believe this is probably Deep Down, and that the online simply refers to being able to play it online with other people. It doesn't make sense for it to be a traditional MMO as Dragon's Dogma didn't set the world on fire (though it sold well enough for what it was).

Hopefully they actually tell a good yarn this time around. I can forgive a bit, but a shitty story isn't one of them.

Dunno how I feel about this.

Dragon's Dogma was one of my favorite titles during the past generation so I'm excited for the possibility of a Dragons Dogma with both online and pawns, but if its filled with microtransactions...

I would be totally okay with this announcement if it only means that we are getting Dark Arisen with an online mode though.

LOL @ the freak out here.

Look guys, 2 good things about this:

- online means PC version (finally!)
- the brand itself is NOT DEAD

/platinumed Dark Arisen on PS3
