The Ultimate Trio of Dissapointment: Dragon's Dogma 2, MH Wilds, Callisto Protocol. Good luck doing worse, devs!

Hmm, looks like I left up a Steam review of Callisto Protocol. I wonder what I thought about it?

I would rather drink my own piss than have to play this game again. From start to finish this game pretty much throws cheap shots at you chipping away at your health, enemies are tiresome to do battle with and you can rest assured they are around every single corner. The level design in this game is absolutely the worst and there is little immersion to be had with all the damn crawl spaces every foot of the way, cookie cutter corridors and just over all boring set design. I mean, I get it, the environment is just one big kill zone but what a effing slog and the spike walls everywhere make everything look ridiculous or out of place. Combat will just piss you off until it clicks with you but even then...

There are some gorgeous views to be had once in awhile, the game graphically is a 10/10, the brutality and gore is incredible, the voice acting is top notch, the story average but everything else just ruins it. I could honestly not recommend this game at full price but I respect the work put into it, but damn, better luck on the next one as there is a TON of potential for something great here if they can give this another try. In the meantime the only horror aspect to this game is having to endure playing it."

Yea, that sums up my memory of the game.

You can't do that.

We know and we are not talking about it everytime you post but could you at least explain what we are looking at?

There's so much I want to ask but so little room to ask it, lol.

On topic DD1 sucked until the xpak so I expect the same for 2.

I quit Callisto about halfway through. Its like the on rails version of Dead Space with a gimped combat system. Its all crawling, and fighting enemies with melee while pressing either left or right constantly inbetween. I was sick of it really.

The only disappointment here is DD2 because it's way less of a game than DD1.
MHWilds problem is optimization, it has the content.
Never cared for Callisto Protocol to be disappointed by it.

Super awesome game. Finished it at least 3 times. My favorite of all three remakes. Straight to the point, pure fun.
Yeah really enjoyed that game too, my second favorite RE Engine game or actually it is my favorite since I got thousands of hours on Resident Evil Resistance. But the campaign in RE3 R alone was very enjoyable. It would have easily been the best RE game of all times if they made the campaign longer with more city sections to explore, more humanoid Nemesis encounters before he mutates, a redesigned Clock tower and Grave Digger boss.

Some opinions here are staggering. Praising the likes of RE3 remake and DD2. This is why they can get away with it. Fart out shit and there'll be someone saying: "yummy yummy, crap for my tummy".
The action extravaganza remake blows the mediocrity of the shitty Nemesis asset recycle side project away. For them to have topped all their modern releases with a remake of the shittiest PS1 franchise chapter is a small miracle.

P.S. Every attempt I have made at playing Dragon's Dogma always felt like wasting time with an alpha build.

Man, I remember the times when we got several real major disappointments within a single calendar year.

2014. Watch_Dogs. Destiny. Assassin's Creed Unity.

You could even count DriveClub and the Master Chief Collection, given the state in which those two launched in.

I actually kind of like the combat is the Callisto Protocol but yeah that game was not good. Just not fleshed out enough at all.

Doom : TDA sucks. Easily the worst of the trilogy as a result of trying to appeal to a wider audience.

MH Wilds is a mixed bag to me - Sure the campaign / story / characters just don't do it for me, but I like the combat a lot. The core gameplay is pretty sweet.

FFXVI is by far the biggest disappointment for me in the last few years. High highs, but they are few and far between, and what separates them is a single-player MMO with incredibly shallow gameplay, uninteresting characters and almost zero RPG customization.

You're looking at a perfect human being. You will never see a more beautiful face in your whole life.

Did you play DD1 in 2012, or was it recent? Cuz i could see someone saying how DD1 wasn't great if they played it for their first time not too long ago, but no way was the game bleh back in 2012.
Thats what OP does

Bruh, i waited over a decade for DD2. I was incredibly erect for the game. Got a piece of dogshit at the end, i still can't get over it, it destroyed my heart.

Callisto combat system feel like "pokemon battle field", the 1 on 1 combat feels very "scripted" and limited to me
It was indeed dogshit, but at least it was playable. You compare this shitty system to the melee combat in something like TLOU2, and the difference is generational, even though TLOU2 came out years before Callisto.

Callisto is the best of the bad games I've played. I enjoyed it as much as Dead Space, or more. Just turn on the auto-dodging melee.

Dragons Dogma 2 is like that game you play when you are bored of modern games feeling too streamlined, too hand-holding.
This is one unpolished turd, but if you're bored of polished turds, it will feel fresh.
It's not particularly difficult after the first few hours though.
