Ya but it's pretty forgiving, not like 1-2 frames or anything.

amodf said:erm... it's not really that hard. Hit fierce after karakusa ends? It'd take maybe two minutes of practice. Do karakusa... then hit fierce!
Also, I dunno about those tiers. Makoto is definitely not above Ken in Japanese tiers. Ken is still in solid third, while a couple of people think Urien (I know mopreme is very vigilant about Urien being 2nd best, but he's weird) and Dudley are tops, but they're not. Top is still Yun, Chun, Ken, in that order. Makoto loses to all three of those characters. How could she be top? She's totally random. She also loses to Elena.
Yun is bar-none the best character in 3S. Charges bar fast, and when Genei-jin is activated he's the most dangerous character in the game, bar-none. The only thing that can stop genei-jin is parrying a dash punch, shoulder check or low forward, and if any of those miss, you're dead, because Yun already has a custom ready. Since Yun can just stay outside of Makoto's range and charge bar and just wait for her to dash in, he's better than Makoto.
Chun just has to sit around and mash back fierce. Makoto's low forward will beat back fierce, but first you have to dash in to get in range, and by then, if Chun has bar, she can just mash low forward because it'll stop Makoto's dashes all day. And Makoto can't jump in, so she's still in trouble. She's better than Makoto.
Ken's like Chun. Run away, charge bar. Makoto can charge bar too! Ken's charges faster though. She dashes, but Ken has low forward. Mash low forward and buffer in supers. She's pretty boned there. He's better than Makoto.
Where has anyone said Makoto was top-tier? I've certainly never heard that mentioned by anyone, and especially not the Japanese players. Spellmaster J's Makoto won SBO 2K4, sure. But that was more Spellmaster J than Makoto, and he's retired now anyway. Makoto is totally not top tier.
Top tier: Yun, Chun, Ken, in that order. Middle tier, Urien, Dudley, Makoto, and everyone else behind them.

I was almost expecting a non-Japanese developer, followed by GAFfers flipping the fuck out. Personally, eh, I figure it's about time a different nation can make a good fighting game.

so obvious if you think about it... they scrapped the sammy vs. capcom project quietly to deliver SF4.
jarrod said:Edit~ ACK! The King pooped on my parade.
Arc System Works is making it, Sega was going to publish it but now Capcom's stepped up. It's 2D, for Atomiswave and is what became of "Sammy Vs Capcom".
With the exception of some of the early MK games, have American developers ever made a decent fighting game? I'm happy that it's a Japanese developer, and even happier that it's Arc System Works if what jarrod is saying is true. Though I would have preferred the original SF team but oh well...

I seem to remember a game called Killer Instinct.

So in essence... your ""facts regarding licensing and development" revolve around previous, nonsensical rumors (that Capcom USA somehow "owns" Street Fighter) while admitting a lack of any knowledge about a formally announced game like Sammy Vs Capcom.tetsuoxb said:Namely that the series belongs to Capcom USA, and they would be absolutely retarded to spend a cent developing for a platform that doesn't even exist in their territory, then spend even more money porting that to home platforms that do (i.e. it would be a home game or a system 2xx game before it would be an atomiswave game), then announce it at a show that has no relevance to their territory, using a developer that may or may not have pissed off their parent company.
EDIT: I have no idea what happened to Sammy Vs. Capcom, or if it even exists/existed. But if it did, and it was being made by ARC, and then it got cancelled... well it either was a quality or political issue. It is the only thing that makes sense.

All right. Indisputably prove it.tetsuoxb said:Capcom USA does own the IP for the Street Fighter series. That is indisputable fact.

MoxManiac said:Eh? So where's the news? How long is it?![]()
Ryu is great, but Ken is better, more tools. It's harder for Ryu to get in. But when he gets in, he does do big damage.Ferrio said:Bullcrap
Exactly, there are damn good setups for it. Frankie3s is the player to watch, he really knows when to throw the thing.Shouta said:You can also dash in and throw a low poke or a forward+MP to mess up parry timing if you're close to assist with the Denjin Hadouken
Alright, about the Dejinn, first thing you gotta get out of your brain is that you DONT need to charge it full. Getting only 3 hits is fine, that's like 60% stun meter, and since the bar is short you'll refill it in no time. When they are at wakeup, throw a lp fireball first and cancel into the dejinn so that the first fireball hits them as they get back up. If they parry it, throw the dejinn so it completely changes the rate of parrying, if they block it, throw it so it hits them on blockstun so they have to red parry it to survive.HomerSimpson-Man said:I love SF3 but I really suck at it. I still can't get the Dejinn Fireball out effective or fast enough.
Got any good hints for Ryu?
