WANDA FLYING

BLACK PANTHER

I wonder why Natasha is wearing a brunette wig throughout this film.

Great trailer. Really looking forward to the movie. Can't come soon enough.

I loved the Ant-man movie, but I'm really just excited to see Paul Rudd in there interacting with all the other actors I like.

It'll eventually be cool to see Chris Pratt in there too. Who knows when though.
Yeah, the D23 trailer had Lang interacting with everyone. I can't wait to see more of him.

I'm genuinely interested how the general public will react. I am incredibly excited about the movie, but my dad keeps saying he has no interest in the movie because he doesn't understand why the good guys are fighting each other. And he's serious. He's as vanilla as it comes to media (prefers procedurals over serials, hates cliffhangers, wants things to go as perfectly for the heroes as possible every time, always wants things always wrapped up nicely, etc.). I could see a segment of the population being really put off by the idea of them fighting each other. To be fair, they really should've played up the growing power struggle between Cap and Iron Man. There were a few throwaway lines and moments in AOU, but nothing that would make you think that the next movie in the MCU would lead to such strife.

Cheadle no :(

My boy getting done dirty. He should have a fairly meaty role in this considering he is the government superhero at this point.

Team Stark.

Absofuckinglutely. The trailer was awesome as hell and this movie in general seems to be awesome.

I thought Age of Ultron was so mediocre.

Yup. It's better on rewatch because you can understand what's happening when they bring in all the damn subplots, but it still doesn't mean it wasn't flawed or that the dialogue wasn't lame.

It was definitely known to be a Cap movie.

Nope!

January of 2014 they announced the move from Summer 2015 (which they knew would conflict with the Ant-Man release date) to May 2016, which they knew was a Marvel release date, but hadn't been confirmed to be Cap 3 at that time.

Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that the release of Zack Snyder's untitled Superman/Batman film has been moved from a July 17, 2015 release to May 6, 2016, the same date as a yet-to-be-titled Marvel Studios film.

According to the studio, this will give "the filmmakers time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story. The decision was made following the shift of the start of production to second quarter of this year."

This will get more butts in seats than the opposite.

I truly believe that all the growth Tony and Steve have made in their own movies, as well as with each other in the Avengers movies has been leading up to this battle.

Are people actually salty about Iron Man being beaten up by two super powered people? At least wait for the movie before taking up arms. Tony seems to be injured in that scene so for all we know the double teaming happens after a crazy battle where anything could've happened. I'm sure they're not going to nerf Iron Man just because it's a Cap movie.

Anyway, amazing trailer. I'm super hyped for this and am expecting great things. Not one of the people who keep shitting on Age of Ultron as I still think it was a very fun movie, but I still expect this to be leagues better based on the exciting stuff happening in this trailer alone. But seriously, nothing would make me more giddy than cameos by the Netflix heroes in this. And Coulson! I'm a sucker for crossovers as long as they're not shoehorned in.

Oh and I'm still very confused about the lack of Fury and Maria Hill in this. Would've thought they'd have central roles to play in this storyline. Hope they explain why they're suddenly sidelined.

This article says it was-this is how I remember it.

I think it was known that RDJ was going to be in it, but it wasn't confirmed as Civil War.

This is what I was referring to originally.

The studio will be bringing the First Avenger back to the big screen May 6, 2016 in the yet-to-be-titled “Captain America 3.”

The May 6 release date will set the Marvel star up for a head-to-head battle with another big superhero flick, Warner Bros. yet to be named Superman vs. Batman movie, which also hits theaters on the same day.

I did mix up the announcement coming after the movie's release.

I wonder what gets Black Panther on Stark's side.

Ultron stole your Wakandian resources (though I guess they were already stolen by Klaw). Stark was behind Ultron.

One of the trailers will probably drop the "You killed my father" bomb, since it was pretty easy to miss in Cap 2.

And the trailer does a decent enough job of setting up the premise. Cap wants to protect his wartime buddy who was turned into a living weapon, Iron Man wants to enforce some accountability after the colossal fuckup of the Ultron incident (where Tony also got into a fight with the Hulk in public with all kinds of collateral damage - the Hulk is missing and unable to answer for that, and even in AoU they remarked that the public was pissed).

The father thing will bring sympathy to Tony's side, I'm sure the next trailer will focus on his team.

Both those articles are dated August 2014. The one I posted is January 2014. When the move was made, nobody "knew" the Marvel movie for May 2016 was gonna be Cap 3. Yeah, people were guessing/assuming, but it was still "Untitled Marvel Film" when WB made their decision. 8 months later, after it was announced the untitled film would be Cap 3, WB pushed BvS into 2016.

potential jokes involving Spiderman that could be used in the film:

* Talking to an arguing Cap and Stark: "Mommy, Daddy, please stop fighting!"

* Trying to console Stark: "Someone really special to me once told me "With great power--" "Yeah that's great kid."

How about "Did you ever stop to think that we're the bad guys? I mean, we're fighting against a guy dressed as an American flag".

Spiderman is a really interesting character. I feel, that really, as a young kid who is this new up and coming very powerful hero, he will be the audience surrogate for "Which side do I choose?", with Black Panther being the cool baddass sexy voice that says "Fuck em both". One the one hand, he is a true hero, through and through, and that's what he wants, to be a hero, and as a kid, he will probably side with Tony initially, doing what he things he is supposed to do, but he is the kind of person who has never really followed authority, so I think he will switch to Cap's side like in the comics.

I dunno about all that.

It's not that people don't die in comics, it's that they don't stay dead.
In the movies they don't even die and in AoU Tony and Hulk probably killed more people than Ultron. Killing characters has a meaning, it's symbological and I get it when they do it in the comics so they should start doing it with movies.

I got a little giddy when I saw Black Panther in-costume. I didn't expect them to just throw that at us in such a nonchalant manner in the first trailer -- you'd at least expect that to be the stinger at the end of a trailer.

Edit: Wait Jessica Jones and Daredevil are going to make appearances in this? That's fantastic.

This looks fantastic. I'm one of those who thinks that Winter Soldier is a bit overrated, but the idea behind this film really is great, and should deliver.
