Spidey's two minute cameo will be better than the entirety of the Raimi trilogy/Webb duology.
lol, Spiderman 2 is better than every Marvel movie sans Winter Soldier. Stop making it seem like Marvel is throwing amazing movies on an annual basis.

Yeah, i don't even want to know how much Downey will end up with after all this. I'm really happy for him because i've always liked him, but fuck hasn't this just killed his career from an actors perspective.

There's so much he could be doing with his talent. Shame.
Downey had Disney move his interiors from his home and bring them to his rented home in Atlanta, on top of not being in the suit unless his face is shown. Other than that, who knows how much money he has. I don't think any actor has ever had it as good tbh.

Lol goddamn. Well at least they mentioned Empire at the top I guess. Love what I'm hearing of Black Panther. Spidey will probably get a lot of attention but I hope BP is just as much of a stand out character for the mainstream audience after this.

Well he's getting his own film so it behooves Marvel to do right by him and sell audiences on his character.

With the Russo's back and the same screenplay writers I've got a lot of faith they'll sell it well. I would have been more wary if BP's first appearance was in Whedon's hands

I can agree with that. I can't stand the Raimi movies at all, I do not get the love for them whatsoever. Awful main cast (aside from JJJ), awful story, campy in the worst ways, and none of it is enjoyable at all for me. I've never liked them even when I was in Jr High/High School and should have because it was fucking Spider-Man on the big screen. Tobey/Dunst sucked all life out of the movies for me.

I think they made a couple of fantastic castings.
Aunt May and Uncle Ben were perfection
Perfect casting on Norman Osborn and Otto Octavius
And I liked Harry.

I can concede on that actually, I forgot about Dafoe and Molina entirely. Aunt May/Uncle Ben are pretty difficult to screw up honestly.

to the discussion on Cap's power level...

I've always seen it as this. Cap is the apex of human physical abilities in all things. That means, if it is possible for a human to achieve it (either currently, or in the future), Cap can do it...and that applies to everything at once.

So, if a distance runner can go for four hours without slowing...so can Cap...but also, if a sprinter can hit 28mph, then Cap can as well. Combine those and Cap's maintaining driving speeds between San Francisco and Reno.

He's pulling strongest man feats while at the same time keeping his speed and flexibility.

All of that certainly combines to make him superhuman, but each individual aspect of a feat could be considered 'peak human'.

Then again, it's just a comic book/movie, so...yeah, let Superman throw his cellophane S.

Why do we have to keep having this conversation?

Captain America is superhuman. Both MCU and 616 (well...except for the current "old steve.")

Well, they did in Amazing.

Uncle Ben in the raimi films was nothing to write home about (he was convincing but not standout) but holy shit did they nail the casting with aunt may. Sally field was a massive step down.

No a human beings very form would fall apart trying to do what Cap does, go watch people try and bench the weights he trains with, their tendons and bones snap. He's a Superhuman, all the training in the world wont make a 200ft drop bearable. I want to know where Cap was portrayed as anything other than a superhuman , where is the source of him being the best a man can be thats nuts, he'd be in the hospital.

“It was important for us to make sure that you very clearly understood that this is a companion to Winter Soldier,” says Joe Russo. “It’s not a companion to Age Of Ultron, this is not a companion to Infinity War…”
This is fucking great. The best about Winter Soldier was that it was a self-contained film.

Absolutely. That's the one or one of the big things that AoU failed at.

Plus Cap can jump off an airplane without a parachute and not even get injured. I'm pretty sure the apex of human physical abilities would still become the apex of a human pancake if they did that.

And for anyone who still thinks the Civil War is only about Bucky, here's what the cover of the document General Ross has:
"SOKOVIA ACCORDS: Framework and the Registration and Deployment of Enhanced Individuals"

It's going to blow up. Bucky is just the emotional center of the conflict.

So Clint and Tony are back in the Avengers by the time the accords occur? Or is this just a promo thing?

Tony and Clint are still part of the Avengers at the end of AoU. They just took a backseat, mellow out for a while, Cap and Natasha set up the Academy for the new recruits.

If anything, MCU Cap power levels are more Ultimate universe Cap than 616 Cap, even in the comics "peak human level" Cap was doing things way above what a true peak human could do. Them making MCU Cap truly superhuman works better, he's obviously above Hawkeye and Black Widow, yet isn't getting completely slapped around by Iron Man or high power level characters.

Im guessing that this is what has been drawn up in the film, they are the main players that are left (Banner has gone AWOL) so they drew it up for the remaining Avengers.

I would assume that in the film there will be a basic version that they have for any other gifted people they come across but since the Avengers are the only ones that are really known to the public it makes sense to name them while you can.

I am wondering what is going to happen about Inhumans, i mean i appreciate that Shield and the ATCU have been trying to cover up the Inhuman activity but surely the central government are aware of the Inhumans and will want to register them too? Maybe since we havent got any Inhumans acting as a super hero (Other than Daisy of course but she is hidden with Shield) that they wont touch on the subject as they arent a public figure?

Do you know who Spider Man is? He is a one man team wrecker.

I love the scene in the first Secret Wars comics when Spiderman hands the entire X-men team their collective asses without breaking a sweat. Only Prof X can stop him with mind control. Many of my friends growing up who were huge X-men fans hated that and still hate it to this day. Of course, I have a habit of reminding them about it, LOL.

None of the MCU movies even touch Spider-man 1&2, and Amazing Spider-man.

Spiderman 2 is top tier right up there with GotG and Winter Soldier, no argument there. Spiderman 1 is a great movie but I'd place it lower than Marvel's best but way above their worst for sure.

Amazing Spider-man is a fantastic film.

Okay, now you are just talking crazy shit. Really?

Because he was involved in that mess? But I guess in this case they're addressing current members of the Avengers, which Banner isn't.

That's exactly what they're doing. The Accords are meant to register the Avengers as a strikeforce under UN jurisdiction.

Banner isn't a member of the Avengers. He's at minimum a wanted man after going on a rampage in Africa. He quit, stole a jet and went into forced exile. If they manage to find him at all he won't be signing any accords, he'll be strapped into whatever high security cell Abomination is stuck in for the rest of his life, or killed if they can figure out how.

Thor isn't there either- either because he's off planet and not active, or possibly because as Asgardian Royalty not under earth's jurisdiction he can tell the UN to fuck off and there's nothing they can do about it.

There is no gap between ultimate Cap and 616 Cap. they do the exact same shit. 616 Cap is clearly superhuman and has been for decades. If you go far back enough to the first dozen or so issues of Avengers you can find him claiming he doesn't have any powers, but he's ALSO using steel shields that get pounded to scrap every other issue.

616 Cap has been retconned into a superhuman from day 1. He's stronger, faster, and more durable than it's possible for a human to be, and on top of that captain america is immortal and doesn't age.

Wolverine fans used to HATE this one

why cant nightcrawler teleport out of his web trap? lol so bad. The xmen could fry spiderman.

I think he did eventually but don't quote me on it, it's been forever. Not that it really matters though, smart/fast/precognitive opponents can usually sense the "brimstone smell" that precedes where nightcrawler will show up when he teleports and use it to own him. Spidey is all three.

That Xmen team was scrub tier and inexperienced (except for maybe cyclops) so probably SHOULD have lost to a pissed off spidey, but even a top of his game nightcrawler doesn't want any part of parker.
