what's going on with this release in europe?
My preorder on shopto still says the 9th of january and now i find out that shops are selling it this friday, i saw sealed copies stacked up behind the counter in my local gameshop and they told me that i goes on sale in two days....
does anyone know what's going on?
TEASE!! My Wii U bundle was delivered today but this game shipped seperately from the same location according to tracking! OH NOSE!!
You get bonus levels for beating 3D World or just owning it? I sold my Wii U early this year and my saves are gone. I did buy this Super Mario 3D World console bundle though.

You just need a SM3DW save file on the system to unlock it. You also unlock the same content by beating Captain Toad (or beating certain challenges, I'm not sure).
I'll be sure to try that, there are moments where it's useful.
Also, that
music box
level was great, I love those multitiered levels that look like they're short but you end up going back and forth, making slow and steady progress to the top when mechanisms start moving around, so fun
Finally beat that fucking maze. Gawd. Took just under 14 hours to do everything minus the time challenges which I won't be bothering with. Great game and well worth the $40 IMO.
Do you get anything for doing the time challenges? Just finished the first chapter. Enjoying the game so far! The time challenges seem nuts though. I've done the first 3.

oh damn, its out tomorrow, not Monday? I ordered online thinking it'll get here by Monday, but if it is instore tomorrow I might just grab one and return the online order.
I'm in gaming bliss for the past two days. Got the game recently and going through it at my own leisure. Enjoying it alot, insanely creative levels and very cute. Just a charming game all around. Currently on
episode 2, level 14
and I'm already replaying the levels to 100% them. Also, dat OST HNNNGGGGG. Only thing I dislike is there is no option to turn off the gamepad's gyroscope.
I do have one question though about the bonus levels that they give you if you own SM3DW.
Are the bonus levels a prequel to SM3DW? lol, because it feels like it and it's pretty awesome if it is to have them connected like that.
If the game and this thread hadn't reminded me, I wouldn't even notice the gyro controls. Why are you guys moving around so much? Or do you mean you just want ability to only use analog sticks even for the gyro sections (cannon, mine cart)?
I finally finished book 3, just need to work on the remaining challenge times. I have about 10 of those left.
then it's on to the Bonus stuff. I'm not sure if I'm going to finish that ultra-hard Mummy-Me Maze you guys were talking about because tbh I don't really enjoy the Mummy-Me Mazes that much. Might give it a try though.
Yep, that's why Captain Toad's levels end in the same spots where you collect his Green Stars in 3D World. He reaches them first and then chills until Mario & co. get there!

I don't like keeping my arm still when I game especially because of how sensitive the Gyroscope is in the gamepad. A slight movement will have the camera moving. As long as you have the gamepad on a surface or on your thigh then you're good to go but anything else and you're bound to have the camera move around if you're not still as fuck.
Well thanks to the UK release getting brought forward and the Christmas post not being massively hectic I can finally get tucked into Captain Toad. Only had the chance to have a quick play around but managed to do the first 5 levels and I'm already pleased as punch.
Done & Done. Just fully completed the game at 100% at around 15 hours. All books completed with time trials done. The final challenge level took me a few tries and was frustrating at times (not Champion's Road levels of difficulty) but I finally cleared it. Good times. Would love to see a more fleshed out sequel with more bosses and ideas, etc. I don't think this game will make my top 10 list this year, but it was a nice digestible game that hit all the right marks for me.
As Yuterald said above, this is a nice, digestible game. It's very fun and pleasant but the completion of levels straddles a strange line between the uber-satisfying brain catharsis of beating a Pushmo and the pure unadultered jouissance of playing a full 3DW level like Blue Bully Belt or Sprawling Savanna. It's funny because it's a sweet game and I do like it, but for some reason it feels kind of halfway between both kinds of games above and when I try to appreciate it on its own merits I can't help but find that although I like it, I don't love it.
Anyway, it's a very sweet and solid game. I did make it further this morning and I found the
second battle against Dragadoon and ensuing Dragadoon-riding sequence pretty fun,
although
the battle itself was a bit tricky to play on the GamePad since there are a lot of touchscreen and blow segments in that level.
Still, it was a fun level. I enjoyed going back and collecting the various gems to unlock that level and revisiting earlier levels helped me appreciate the level design more.
One note on the OST, as I mentioned previously, this isn't repetitive to the point of Pushmo World (which I don't mind because those few songs are catchy and delightful), but it doesn't stand out like 3DW either.
As Yuterald mentioned, this is a game which could really do some cool things in a sequel. (I still think it might lend itself better to a 3DS experience, though.)
