I loved the anime as a kid and love football in general but this game doesn't appeal to me gameplay wise for some reason. 9 characters as DLC is really bad for a football game too imo.
The legends edition with the full sized football table is pretty cool I guess.
Edit: NVM its $2.2k for the legends edition
I wanna buy this but fuck i am worried about the DLC addons in this game. I dont want it to be another mobile game that keeps on sucking money
No Jun Misugi is unacceptable.
My bad. Didn't see him.Of course Misugi is in the game. Check the character roster.
In story mode you can choose to play on his team - Musashi.
Play alongside Kojiro Hyuga or GTFO!
I want to try Furano as well. I like Matsuyama.I'm actually going with Furano or Musashi on my first run
FPS and Resolution comparison from all platforms? Don't believe PS4 is 1:1 like the Switch.

The official website states that PS4 targets 1080p 30 fps, doesn't say if it's PRO enhanced.
From the PSN page it seems to have "optional in-game purchases" and it is Pro enhanced. So far, they've stated in the trailer (here I've time stamped it for you) that all custom upgrades are acquired via in-game points which are obtained only by playing the game.
Which makes me believe that, besides characters, micro-transactions for cosmetic stuff is out.
I believe they'll do an approach similar Dragon Ball FighterZ, in terms of characters season pass.

Isn't carlos the brazilian?I am only interested into the Final Boss himself: Karl Heinz Schneider
Germany is the final Boss!Isn't carlos the brazilian?
Oh, the anime schedule here in italy was fucked up.Germany is the final Boss!
I am interested in the game, but I have to admit, the number of editions and DLC characters is gross. Hard to believe a Captain Tsubasa title is outdoing Ubisoft in the Fuck You Give Me Money game.
Isn't carlos the brazilian?
The game is not even out yet, and they are advertising DLCs with 9 other characters. Why not put them in the main game to begin with, you greedy bastards?
Yea Karl Heinz is badass, but a total nightmare to me was Coimbra from the CTII game. His name later changed to Natureza I think. That's Carlos Bara aka Carlos Santana. Since they're considering the source material pretty well, it makes perfect since for him to be known as Carlos Bara in this game, since this is based on Junior youth. During that time Carlos Santana was known has Carlos Bara.
Karlz Hanz Schneider is the Germain Captain and forward. A kickass character. My favourite to be honest.
True, but it's bandai namco. Just look at their fighting games for example. It's their practice (even though it is wrong and I agree 100% with you).

Oh cool. I didn't know Zico's real name was exactly the same. This is very interesting. However I don't remember Coimbra ever returning after CTIV. Well maybe for the better because I don't need more nightmaresCoimbra is an original character for CTII, supposed to be Zico's reference in the game since he shares his name with the former Brazilian legend.
He was Hongo's secret weapon in the finals to troll with players. He was way too OP.
Natureza is a different character.

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is the wild and hyper-stylised sports game I've been craving for over a decade. The gameplay is quick to pick up, but hard to master, and the over-the-top anime transitions and animations that are sprinkled throughout the action make it endlessly entertaining.

Shacknews- 8/10
Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions marks the franchise's return to gaming after a ten-year hiatus. This action-sports title delivers on the charisma and charm that have become synonymous with the series, despite a middling story.
IGN Italy- 7.8/10
Captain Tsubasa: Rise of the New Champions is a heartful love letter to the masterpiece of Yoichi Takahashi. Despite some flaws, such as a very clumsy progression system and some naive design choces, the game is fun to play, it feels like to be in the anime series, has a great potential online and the chance to create custom team and custom players is fan service at its best.
GamePro Germany- 7.9/10
When the whistle in Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions kicks off, overhead kicks, tears and friendship are close together. And that's quite fun.
To get back to this one, since I've bought it for PS4, it definitely runs at 60 on Pro (my Pro is running with 1080p output, though, dunno if it also runs at higher res). The official website states that PS4 targets 1080p 30 fps, doesn't say if it's PRO enhanced
This is really fast paced, it didn't look like that from the gameplay but damn. It's also a lot harder than I expected, you really need to pay attention to get the dodges (R1 and R2) right. Getting a decent shot on the goal is also very hard since defenders are storming you as soon as you have the ball and the goalie is a tough nut as long as his spirit bar isn't depleted.. lol
You can also throw your FIFA/PES skills out of the window, lol, nothing works as expected except for passing and flanking.
But I like what I've played so far. The presentation is very nice! Looking forward to playing Story mode over the weekend.
