Football: A Game Of Two Halves & A Round Ball, It's A Funny Old Game

Everton's new ground looks nice.

Sky still having to mention Liverpool FC though - must be in the contract - today should be all about Everton.

It's disgusting how much Sky pander to Liverpool. Ndiaye just scored, waiting for them to compare him to Salah, for no reason.

Absolutely demolished Leeds. Happy to see Gyokeres score a brace but at the same time it was sad to see Ode and Saka go down

The stadium was buzzing the whole game because of Eze. Look how genuinely happy he was

Were really good at passing it along our back line. Had the opportunity to cross into the box with Dorgu or Mount... But instead... Back to De Ligt it went.

Midfield was empty
Fulham were having a walk in the park

It's always empty. We have no legs there, we need a Baleba or Wharton style DM. Casemiro doesn't have the legs for the PL anymore and Ugarte hasn't shown he's capable either.

Utd are still rubbish.

Going to another long season unless they sort it out. They could be decent enough if they start moving the ball quicker.

Tonight could be interesting ... Newcastle Vs Liverpool. With the whole Isak story hanging over the fixture and the first test for Liverpool, though Newcastle aren't as good without Isak in the lineup.

What to say about united?

Amorim is fucked , bruno should have been sold or Mbeumo shouldnt have been brought. one of them doesnt have a space in this formation. Bruno is not a midfielder and amorim is playing him as such and its fuckin up the midfield completly. we had a good 1st half but we lost the 2nd half completly , our midfield was a huge highway with no one in sight

Also if things keep going this way Sesko will be another Hjolund. how can a striker make goals if the balls dont come to him?

amorim is a good couch but he has to do something or he wont last until x-mas, the pressure is way to big

Yeah, they need to give Sesko the ball where he can do something.

It's better than last season but still nowhere near good enough.

What we have to remember is that Amorim didn't want to join half way through last season, so we need to remember that essentially it's a clean slate as of the start of this season. He's brought in 3 players, we ideally need 2 more but we need to try and disregard the end of last season when it was basically testing the players on a new formation, some of whom are heading out the door/have already gone.

I agree with this 100% but the fanbase doesnt see it like this (and it should) , amorim said time and time again he didnt wanted to come in the middle of last season.

Unpopular opinion from an outsider , all this pressure of putting mainoo playing is just because he´s english and people want him called up to england national team

Enjoyed Newcastle v Liverpool. Gordon is a cunt for losing his head in a big game like this. Liverpool are shambolic at the back and they got pressured even with 10 men Newcastle

Of course lots of controversial decisions but got used to it from those shite refs

Partially but also because Bruno hasn't had the best two games and he & Mainoo essentially play in the same position (Which should be AM but due to Amorim's system it's more CM, which neither are that suited to). Will Amorim drop his captain...

I know people say Ugarte has been ahead of Mainoo, but Ugarte has came on for Casemiro, both of whom are traditionally DMs so it makes sense they are interchangeable.

Slow day at work so here´s my 2 cents on United

I don't know what's going on with Amorim, honestly. The man is a great coach, but there's clearly something not working there, he is a shadow of what he used to be, and I fear that, like many others, he will end up being fired halfway through the season.
The attitude he sometimes has during matches doesn't help either; like when he lowered his head at Fulham while Bruno was about to take the penalty or during corners, it just shows that he doesn't believe in the team.
I've thought that Amorim might be a one-hit wonder and that what he achieved at Sporting was just a beginner's luck, and that he discovered Gyökeres, who is starting to score in the English league,
but I want to believe that it's not true because the work he did at sporting was really really good (and im a benfica supporter) and you cant be a one trick pony doing what he did at sporting. so something else must be going on...

He should never have gone at the middle of last season, but it was a requirement from United at the time.(i dont know if many United fans know this but its the truth, he never wanted to come in the middle of the season , only in the beginning of this one) I understand the cleaning of the squad to start this season, and it was much needed, but either he makes some changes to his system or he'll end up like all the others.
I also think he should be given a clean slate, but of course, that won't happen. Fans have no patience these days.

The team is better than last season, but it has giant gaps in midfield and in goal mainly (every set piece, corner or foul near the area was just laughable regarding the goalkeeper's position during the Fulham game) and especially in matches against lower-ranked teams in the PL, he always struggles; usually, against the top 5, they always perform well, it was the same last season.

The sale of Bruno is a significant amount (rumored to be 100M) and perhaps it would be enough to bring Hjulmund from Sporting, to be fair, I really like Bruno Fernandes and last season he was decisive, but at the moment for his position
you have Cunha and Mbeumo (both signings this season) and it's clear that Bruno doesn't perform at all in midfield, especially with Casemiro being far from the Casemiro of a few years ago and an Ugarte who always messes up whenever he comes on. you have Mainoo who is still young, I don't understand why Amorim doesn't bet on him.

Back to Bruno, as captain you can't have tantrums like he had regarding the penalty from there, the whole team fell apart, and then you come to the flash interview saying that the referee was to blame for your lack of focus.

I understand that Sesko is not a starter yet, but when he came on, the ball didn't reach him either. You could have Ronaldo or Messi as strikers, but if the ball doesn't reach them, they can't score either and I think the same applies to Hjlund, who I also think its a good player but just doesnt get the balls

Let's see if things straighten out, but it's not looking easy at all.

about the formation this would be the ideal formation

Lemmens (if he comes)
yoro de ligt heaven
amad mainoo new signing dorgu
mbeumo cunha
sesko

with this where the hell do u put bruno? i totally understand why amorim is putting him instead of mainoo , bruno is a much experienced player than mainoo

u cant bench mbeumo or cunha who just came in

heard mainoo wants 200k a week.

what the hell did he do to deserve that? what a joke...sell him if he wants that. clearly just cares about the money

A year after joining Juventus together, Alisha Lehmann and Douglas Luiz have split 😳💔
Now she's off to Como, and he's heading to Nottingham Forest.

Looks like I'm a bit late with this news!

English tax.

Unfortunately Man Utd would've paid this over the last 13yrs and its why the likes of Rashford & co had no motivation to be better. In your job, if you want more money, you perform ... want even more? Perform more ... hit your talent ceiling? That's your salary cap. But United have offered daft salaries to 19-23yr olds for far too long and thankfully it's stopped. It's why we have the likes of Sancho sat rotting cos nobody wants to pay his £350k weekly wage.

We have 5 defenders on the field against a League 2 team and they still had a player free.

Disgraceful.

Amorim will be gone by the end of next month.

Some tough fixtures coming up they probably won't pick up a win.
