PS always sells 2:1 ish every gen this is nothing new, and with the expense of creating AAA now this is not enough for Sony anymore obviously... people that think Sony won't start putting their games in more places are delusional. It's only a matter of time. Nintendo will keep making cheap games on low cost hardware that sell like gangbusters... and now that Sony and MS are gonna start putting their games everywhere Switch 2 is only gonna benefit from all the added software support. There is no touching Nintendo but Sony/MS are pretty much done as we traditionally know them. Matter of time.

To be a real challenger globally, they would have to massively expand their organization, logistics and business model. They are still less than 400 employees I believe? But it could be a potential long term play if they put their minds to it.

These people aren't "master" anything. It's always the ones with middling/low end hardware that behave like this.
Bitter brokies who can't afford the additional purchase of a console in order to be free and play everything that they want to without barriers.
Microsoft went to consoles business cause their biggest concern is windows pc, anything else is secondary. There's no cope when they themselves haven't shown their biggest interest as Sony and Nintendo do to their consoles. Sega in a completely different situation where they pulled the trigger the hard way cause everyone legitimately cared about Sega.

Xbox hardware is done, that's all. But won't change much because it was pretty irrelevant for the console market. Nintendo will continue in portables and Sony will continue in home consoles.
It isn't the end of anything for PS: this generation they are having record revenue, profit and userbase.

The origin of a word and the current meaning are two entirely different things. We don't use words based on their origins, we use them based on what they mean today.
You stated the focus should always have been on quality games. If that's the primary thing that concerns you then you wouldn't only have a gaming PC and display behaviour akin to that of a spoilt brat.
