Who is that?
Enji Night, a cosplayer.
I like that Supergirl is 24 in the show and not a teenager so we won't get any of that teenage romance crap.
DIGGLE: Oliver, you never told us there were aliens on the island.
OLIVER: You never asked.
That is only because they are absolutely terrified of something killing off Batman's popularity again like Batman & Robin.Even on FOX they're not willing to show off Batman himself, just babby.
It wouldn't matter anyway, romance is almost always a important subplot in any tv series. Though it would be hilarious have a year one batman true to form where he's just a fucking robot and smashes faces in for 40 mins and has 2 mins worth of dialogue.
DC's whole TV strategy seems really odd, it's like they're promoting all their lesser known characters, seems they want to turn people away from "DC only has superman/batman". Even on FOX they're not willing to show off Batman himself, just babby. The moviesphere as well has lesser known characters like Shazam and Sandman getting movies. As big of a Bat fan I am, I can appreciate this, DC does have a good selection of characters and too often they only adapt superman or batman.
I guess they'll cast an unknown cause I'm having a hard time coming up with a good actor for Kara.
I wouldn't say odd, it makes sense
I imagine they probably feel it's a way to diversify the characters they spotlight, and apparently much easier to get off the ground then their movies.
Probably less red tape to get through as well.
And as you said, it expands their roster much further than Batman/Superman to some
The downside to this is that the multitude of parties involved means DC can't bring much of these characters into each other's shows. Each has to exist within their channel's / network's universe. This won't affect how well written / paced / acted each show is in its own right, but it counts as a missed opportunity in my book.
Katie Cassidy
Lyndsy Fonseca would be nice too .
Stories told in Lucifer and Scalped comics blew away both Breaking Bad and True Detective. SO it can be done.
But superhero shows are never going to be like this and they shouldn't. It would be boring as hell.
Oh snap, Lyndysy Fonseca would be great.

Now I can't unsee it. Great choice.
Aimee Teegarden.
Who is Aimee Teegarden?
Coach Taylor's daughter on Friday Night Lights.

I'm talking about sheer quality of execution, not the type of stories a comic book show should tell.
If you think that new Constantine show has the potential to match Breaking Bad and True Detective in terms of writing/acting/etc, you are a crazy person or you haven't watched the pilot.

Supergirl TV Series confirmed for 2015 on CBS. CW declined it. Will stay far from established lore & remove Superman from her origin. #sigh
this is true? CW declined it?
I'm okay with staying away from established lore and removing Supes so she can stand on her own.
Wonder why CW declined it though. Budget?

Linda Danvers. How do you remove Superman from her origins?
Removing Superman makes lots of sense (though what exactly does that mean? Will he exist at all in this continuity?), but I hope that doesn't mean that it's just Supergirl and a bunch of original characters.
...wait, what's the source for this?
Why is DC so ashamed of their charslacters they allow ppl to change them radically for TV/Film? Thats what makes these things flop.
I am looking forward to a Badass Superheroine show/film but I was hoping it be Wonder Woman rather than Supergirl. But ill take it.
If they take out Superman that pretty much means his villains and supporting characters are all out, probably Metropolis as well.
Can't see that being even remotely as interesting as Arrow or Flash.
Yeah but they aren't going to go through the trouble of distancing her, then have her fighting Lex or Lois Lane showing up.Not necessarily. Batman doesn't really exist in Arrow's universe, yet it steals his villains.

Thats the thing though,I mean its not like The Joker and Catwoman are showing up on Arrow.
Reading his feed, it sounds like he is just recapping the information and not... citing anything new
Where exactly did Joe get this information from?
Removing Superman from the fictional universe they're creating with her is a great move.
Joe might be seeing fansites spreading their own rumors. If Supergirl is disconnected to Superman, that makes no sense. It's not like Gotham with no Batman, Supergirl shares her villains with Superman. As for CW rejecting it, I call bullcrap since CW days ago said they were planning to add more DC shows to their schedule.
