CBS Orders Supergirl Series

No one cared that the Avengers didn't show up in Thor 2, Cap 2, or IM 3. "He's busy" is a perfectly adequate excuse that now has precedent in live action.

Except that you eventually do get a pay off when Avengers happen. If you're not going to get a pay off of this sort in tv, why even introduce him? Heck, if excuses are what we're looking at, just make it happen before Superman becomes superhero.

How can they be in the same universe if one show is on CBS and the others on The CW?

Because 50% of the CW is owned by the same company as CBS (the other 50% is Warner Bros). That doesn't mean that there will be constant cross-overs, but chances are relatively decent.

Yeah... not exactly surprising that the execs have hired the same casting director as they did on their other successful shows. That doesn't make anything more or less likely.

In isolation maybe, but CBS owns the CW along with Warner Brothers and with the Arrow and Flash execs also doing this show, I'd say it's an encouraging sign more than not at all.

You'd have to wonder if CBS getting Supergirl is a check to make up for Warner Bros dominating The CW over them.
That doesn't matter anyway though. There aren't any big hurdles for them to cross-over if they want to: same production company, the station that airs Arrow/Flash is part property of CBS, and the other partner on The CW is the company that is selling the Supergirl series in the first place.

Supergirl is such a shitty character, same with superboy & Krypto. There are so many awesome female characters with interesting backgrounds and complexity (*Ahem* Raven) it's a shame they chose Supergirl.

Later in the afternoon at his other office on the Warner Bros. lot, Berlanti meets with fellow producer Ali Adler and Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood to go over looks for their upcoming revamp of Supergirl. The show will follow 24-year-old Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin, and with a twist that that could melt fanboy brains, Berlanti says it's possible this Supergirl could enter the worlds of Arrow and The Flash.

No, Constantine and Gotham are totally standalone. And yes, Zattana is a better fit to Constantine.

Before I was dreaming of Constantine sparking TV Vertigo verse the way Arrow did for Superheroes, now I'm praying Constantine will survive

Honestly, Supergirl's costume is just so shitty.

I mean, it's something I'd want a girl to dress up in before we do the nasty. That's not what a heroic larger-than-life figure should wear.

She should have something more regal than fucking VAGINA SHIELD.

So is Superman a thing or not? Someone needs to just set the record straight.

Nope.
