Someone got a replay already?
Apology will be accepted if by January they can get it working. I understand Covid had a massive impact on game development of this size, but if they had came and said this at the start and said "look you might experience bugs but we promise to fix this" then people would have been more lenient. It's the way they hid it so that people go in blind is what irks me.
have they murdered someone? am i missing something? they released a game that is on an unacceptable shape for many people. those people can get their money back. what more do you want? honest question.
I'm confident they can get the game running well on ps4/xbox1.
Fact the game shouldn't have been released for these consoles until February is something. Had to cash in on that Christmas rush.
All future dlc should be free for the base console players.
They still walked off like a bandit.
Not everyone will return the game, out of false hope and laziness, but would've never purchased it if they knew how bad it was beforehand.
Oh for god sake stop this.Anyone expecting this to run or look good on last gen hardware was in for disappointment.
"Sorry we got caught, we hoped you would be hyped enough to make excuses up for us for long enough to give us time to fix the worst of it with patches in the months ahead and repeat the cycle again"...
Who could have thought crunch could produce a buggy game when management was trying to rush a holidays release showing as much contempt for their users as they do for their workforce...
They did? Quote them here.I thought the day one patch was gonna fix it because people on twitter and GAF told me it would
People like me are rational and not that stupid to praise a broken game or defend devs who fucked it up.
BOOM! And some people on GAF still protect these corporations for pushing people through crunch.

At the rate these AAA games are being developed, I wouldn't expect a new CDPR game during the span of the XSX/PS5 generation. Some DLCs at most. They ruined their reputation with me. I was initially thinking I'd wait until they fixed the issues to buy, but the the game isn't even that good. I've been watching a playthrough and it's almost mediocre.
Goodbye to CDPR until they release a good game again (maybe a decade from now).

The downsides are:Why is this so baffling to people? I preorder games sometimes because I'm planning to buy a game, and sometimes you get free extras for it, why the fuck not. I have never had to cancel a preorder before, I've always preordered games I was 100% going to buy anyway. This is the first time I've ever preordered a dud to my knowledge, and I was able to cancel it after impressions were rolling in. I don't see a downside.
Shady situation and the apology rings a bit hollow. But if they're offering refunds for dissatisfied customers that's a step in the right direction and by and large makes up for the shady business in my opinion. I might be biased though because I never intended to play this on a base old gen system.
In my country this is an extended practice XDDD Those wacky Spaniards!Would you buy a house that you only saw a few promotion pictures of but never actually went there to check it out, because it isn't fully built yet (and you have no way to influence how it is being built)?
I mean, why not?
Here I am, proudly reporting.
Oh, this "analysis" is just precious.
There is now evidence behind the claim of mismanagement. No question about that. But no, the emotionalist has to frame this situation as them having "contempt" for a workforce, which they pay, plus award yearly bonuses based off on profit, plus award individual bonuses based off on individual performance.
It's like you borrowed from some 19th-century d-grade novel. Please use Uncle Scrooge next time, for extra vividness.
For real? That's crazy! In my country this is an extended practice XDDD Those wacky Spaniards!
I want them to avoid releasing their games in an unplayable state while making it impossible to review them beforehand. It's scummy.
Tons of people won't ask for refund and they know it... That's the point here. They made a lot more money by doing like that than by just not releasing it on base last gen consoles, like they should have done.
It discourages developers from actually putting in the effort to finish their game - CP2077 had 8m preorders. Why even finish the game when you can rake in that much cash without actually having a finished product? Game can always be finished later.
You order something that you simply don't know if it will be good or not - it isn't even possible in theory without a time machine. At best you can try to minimize the risk. But your money is already gone.
You got lucky that you were able to cancel it after reviews hit - that's not usually possible and sending stuff back is a hassle (if the store will even take it back). Most people will just go "well, damn, now I got it", maybe play it or not - but the developer/publisher will keep their cash.
All good. Respect you broI don't defend CDPR for putting out a broken game on consoles, they're disgusting for doing that and the way they lied in their marketing is downright despicable, however I still love the game itself. It's my GOTY.
That's okay brother, you know I like you, just because we don't see eye to eye on this don't change that![]()
Not on this scale though. The only thing remotely similar for me was Dishonored 2 on release. And that wasn't so much bugs as shitty frame pacing.
For the record, I'm 30 hours in and enjoying the game on my 2070, but it's about a year away from a polished release. And the PS4 and X1 footage actually made me laugh. It's abysmal.
My suspicion is they thought they could pull a rockstar and release cross gen. It was an error. This game has no business being on base consoles.
Yeah. How come our nation of übermensch is always behi... oh, Cyberpunk 2077, I'll preorder it for XOneS.For real? That's crazy!
Why would you ever do that? It's like playing lottery with a ton of your own money.
Then again, I always did wonder how it seems that Spain continuously ends up in economic troubles![]()
