Cemu Thread: Emulating Wii U Games

Guys, I have a question. Should I play Zelda with or without the patch? How do I get the patch, do I copy it from a Wii U too?
Can we please stop acting like Nintendo hasn't established a pattern of fewer and fewer quality games with each hardware generation?
Sounds like you are triggered and need a safe space.

Now that the Zelda compatible version is public I think I'll try it out by ripping my brother's Wii U copy just to check things out. Will comment on peformance with i7 6700k @4.5 GHz and a 1070

Can we please stop acting like the Switch will only ever have the currently announced games?
That's a nice hipothetical future, but why would you argue about things you don't actually know will or not exist in the future?

I don't mean to be annoying, but I keep seeing this mistake happen a lot; It's actually lighting, not lightning. Lightning is what occurs during a thunderstorm. Lighting is what you want to show the difference in light in those images :)

Autocorrect's a bitch ahahaha. I didn't even notice the change.

I must be missing something. I tried playing both Mario Kart 8 and Mario 3d world and there were constant freezes. Any way to make these games smoothly? My specs are:

4970k
16 gb ram
GTX 1080 TI
SSD
WIN 10

It lags because it's compiling shaders as you play.

Yes you need to download a shader cache. Check reddit for cemu caches.(can't link directly cuz nintendo IP)

Once you download it put it into your cemu--->shaderCache--->transferable folder.

Huh. I haven't booted up Cemu for a while, but I don't think I ever did this. I distinctly remember small but constant stutters throughout the experience in MK8. Thanks, I'll try this!

It's not literally a requirement. Your own shaders are cached as you play. The stutter occurs when you run into something you haven't before, so assuming you're just building up your own cache, your stuttering will naturally go down the more you play.

Two questions:

1.) Should I upgrade from my i5 6400 2.70 ghz? If so then to what?
2.) Should I/Can I delete the precompiled folder in shader catagories?

If you close the game will it "reset" cached shaders?

Honestly, the shader generation seems less and less stuttery with each new version. I tried out MK8 before transfering my old shaders into 1.7.3 public, and I had very little stutter. And before i need needed to run all the laps before being smooth, now it becomes really smooth at the end of the first lap on a track.

How did people get those screenshots outside the tutorial area? Did they copy their savegames from Wii U to their PCs?

I tested the game yesterday on my laptop. I had to play up to 15fps, and as you expect, I couldn't make the magnetism tool and paralyzing tool work.

But all I know, is that I need to get a Switch soon. Or drive 400km and get my Wii U from my mother's home and bring it with me to my new home, haha.

That, and there is also some skips you can do on the shrines as well.

every time i check back here, something else in BOTW is working properly or better than before. this progress is stunning
but i think the patreon still shocks me more, what a paycheck

You can download saved games.

Not worth playing on emulator though, too much stuff missing right now;it's fun that you can almost play it, but this deserves to be played on real hardware IMO.

I transferred my WiiU save to PC to see how easy it would be (very, using DDD)

titledumper.exe /vol/save "./Zelda Save/"

And it transfers ALL your shots - photos and compendium stuff. In full resolution and without the crap they have in-game that shrinks it and puts lines all over it as it's stylised.

Pretty great, also helps bypass the 40 something photo limit in game.

so awesome!

Just tried using the settings shown here: http://i.imgur.com/9SLVH6Z.png

And I have to say... they work! I got a nice little boost in performance (from ~15 and ~20max fps to ~16 min and ~30 max fps out in the field in BotW) after using those settings.

How do I run games at 4k?

Get or make a graphic pack for whatever game you want to play in 4k. Copy and paste the graphic pack into the graphicPacks folder in the CEMU folder.

Hi,
sorry - I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't find a solution with the search:
Every (!!) time I load up a game CEMU is "compiling shader caches" from scratch, taking several minutes depending on the game (for instance, I have a large transferable cache for MK8 with ~9000 shaders).
For my understanding (what I got out of google etc.), it should only re-compile when:
- i update cemu
- i update the nvidia driver
But i have to go through this every single time i load a game.
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, what is it??

Delete the controller configuration file. I might mix things up but i think this fixed it for me once. Might have been another issue lol

Are you sure you're using the latest version, 1.7.3d? What are your specs?

Yes, 1.7.3d
I had all versions from 1.5.6ff
What I do when a new version comes out is - I make a copyof my latest directory and copy all new files into it.
For example, I copied my 1.7.2 directory to 1.7.3 and pasted all 1.7.3 files from the download of the newest version into this dir. Wrong?

Specs:
xeon e3-1231 v3
16 gb ram
980ti

... this is really annoying me :(
If I for instance want to start BOTW, I have to wait 20 minutes for cemu to compile the caches (~15k) :-(

When the games are loaded, everything is super-smooth

Apparently this is a 1.7.4 preview for BotW, currently on reddit, source is from dev on discord.

Would love if someone from the patreon could confirm. Looks pretty playable, major collision / physics issues appear resolved.

Edit: Appears legit, the release date for 1.7.4 is April 2nd

I had this problem before. I have a Nvidia card.

To fix it, i had to disable vsync on the Nvidia panel and enable it on the emulator. If you want you can just create a Cemu profile and disable Nvidia Vsync from there.

Yes this is true, I just received the email.

They've fixed the collision issue, there's grass now and magnesis now works. (as well as a bunch of other fixes)

No FPS improvements though, releases 2nd April for patreons and 9th for everyone else.

Would it be actually playable, that is, completable, with those fixes? I'm guessing there still other glitches in it, but if the game could already be finished that would be a major accomplishment.

If all of the runes are working? Then yes. In theory all you need to finish the game would be the runes, being able to open chests and wield weapons. Should be good to go, performance aside.
