Cemu Thread: Emulating Wii U Games

Is Mario 3D World able to be played flawlessly? I tried it for a bit and on level 1-5 there were sections of severe slowdown. I have (I believe) a complete shader cache and a fast CPU.

1-5 and its stage variation later on are an exception because of some things going on in the level. The rest of the game doesn't have those performance issues.

Which is weird since the videos are literally mp4 files which you can play without modification in any video player.
Exzap commented on this on reddit or Discord. Of course they could hack it in but the WiiU does some unusual processing with the files, so it would probably break in every other game.

i want to dump my game onto PC but looks too complicated. 1) do i need a special firmware to do it? my wii u is fully up to date..am i out of luck? 2) is there any serious risk in getting the game off the wii u? i mean like bricking it or nintendo banning my account.

Awesome, thanks. Is Medium GPU buffer accuracy sufficient to avoid glitches?

Low is fine. In general, stick with low and switch to high if you're noticing graphical issues (per game, you'll never need to switch while ingame). I'm not sure of any games where medium is the ideal selection.

1) No. If you're on version 5.5.1, use this tutorial to set your Wii U up for homebrew. Then this tutorial will walk you through dumping your games.
2) No, as long as you follow the instructions exactly in the tutorials I just linked

The video won't start playing for me. Did he manage anything?

Yes he did, a couple of cutscenes work fine. It does mess a couple of things up in other games though.

Technically speaking they could work around it having it "inject" a native reproduction using PC code, but I think they prefer to go the accuracy way and try to emulate the way the Wii U itself decodes those files, which is a bit more complicated.

i did this last week, ... took about 2.5 hours to rip BotW from the wii u disc to a usb flash drive. i just started it at around 1pm while i was at work, and let it run its course. eats up a good chunk of the 32gb internal memory though. considering moving it to a external hard drive instead... but dont have one available until i reball my stupid ps3, which i cant do cuz i'm in the middle of botw most nights. 1st world problems.

Pretty big update for BOTW stability

Unofficial h.264 plugin and 30 fps stability patch courtesy of rajkosto from the cemu discord channel.

(Apparently only working on win10 currently)

http://sshnuke.net/cemuhook/

Make sure vsync is disabled in the cemu app and enable 'GX2SetGPUFence skip (HACK)'
Cap cemu to 30fps with either adaptive sync in nvidia control panel or use rivatuner

If you stuggle to hit 30fps change these in nvidia control panel:

Multi-display/mixed GPU acceleration -> Single display performance mode
Power management mode -> Prefer maximum performance
Threaded optimisation -> on

This doesn't fix any soft locks but there will be updates once 1.7.4 hits on the 2nd.

Is there any sure bet program to rip my Wii u games onto my Pc? I don't have my U anymore but I kept my games for that purpose but so far haven't come up with anything.

Where do I put the plugin in the Cemu folder?

Where do I put the plugin in the Cemu folder?

Yeah it's really simple and just goes in the main cemu folder. Boot up cemu and you get an extra graphics hack option and h.264 support.

It's only intended for botw right now and breaks other games.

I REALLY hope one of you can help me.

The past couple of hours I have been trying to connect a second controller in cemu, so I could play local multiplayer.
First I updated all the relevant games, then I connected both my xbox one controllers to cemu. I set up one controller as a gamepad and the other controller as a wii u pro controller.

They both light up green in cemu, and individually they both work, when I switch between them, but when they both are enabled I have not been able to get the second controller to work in any game so far (Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3d world and Donkey Kong).

Reading about this on reddit and other places is frustrating because it seems like other people are not experiencing the same problems I am. I even tried to import a so called .ccc file with a button layout into cemu. But to no avail.

Do I need to set up the controller with some sort of special layout?

I hope one of you can give me a detailed explanation of how to set up a second controller in cemu. Perhaps even show me a picture of your controller layouts.

Thanks in advance

Cheers, runs much better now. Performance has gone up by 10+ fps but still hiccup-y. Now I have to wait for Amazon to deliver a gtx 1060, my integrated intel 530 isn't doing so well lol. And once 1.7.4 is out I'll be ready for Zelda.

I don't really understand your issue. Are you saying the games just detect both controllers as player 1 or that controller 2 isn't detected at all?

It could be a driver issue depending on what you have on your computer.. maybe something is conflicting. An easy fix would be to just set up a ps3/ps4 pad if you have one lying around and use scptoolkit drivers.

Thanks for your answer.

The second controller does not work in any game. However I just had the first controller do something peculiar in Mario Kart 8. Suddenly the first controller was able to "act" as a second controller enabling local multiplayer. So in effect the first controller was driving both player 1 and player 2's karts.

I have some dualshock 4's but how do I get my pc to detect them. Can they connect to the microsoft wireless adapter?

edit : Sorry, I missed the part about the scptoolkit. Testing the ps4 pads now.

When you're configuring, under the second drop down, are you making sure to select the controller? I believe each one should have their own unique entry.

DS4s work over USB. They show up as 'Wireless Controller' (image above) in Cemu.

They require no additional software, just plug and set up.

I actually had a similar issue when I first set up cemu with a ds3 and ds4 pad. Both were set up correctly but cemu would see the ds4 as both player 1 and 2. I'm not sure how I fixed it but after removing/installing drivers a few times it just went away.

If you want to set up your ds4 pad the easiest way is to grab ds4windows and run the controller via usb cable. You can also use bluetooth but not all adapters are compatible.

Do not do this, no extra software is necessary whatsoever. Plug them into your computer through USB, that's it.

Using DS4Windows as an xinput wrapper reduces functionality because there's currently a bug with xbox controllers where you can't use both triggers simultaneously. It also caps the amount of buttons you can use, whereas using the DS4 normally let's you bind the touchpad as a button.

This is nuts, I went from 15-20 fps to 25-30 when roaming the open world.

I'm using the wireless controller drop down in cemu but also able to use the touchpad as a mouse. As long as the cursor isn't over the render area it allows me to use the pad as another button for gameplay so i'm not seeing the issue here.

Again, assuming you're not using it as an xinput wrapper. Otherwise the baseline of what's happening (Cemu recognizing the controller/being able to use it) is natively supported.

I'll try this in a few minutes.

With all these Breath of the Wild updates I'm finally dumping my Wii U save to my PC to continue onward playing in CEMU.

Is Saviine supposed to take like, an obscenely long time to dump a save? We're running on about 20 minutes at this poin for BotWt.

Saviine usually runs very quickly (Captain Toad took like 20 seconds for me), but it's possible that it may take longer for BOTW because it also dumps your photo album.

if i want to dump this do i need an sd card/usb drive with at least 64gb since i have a 32gb wii u? i don't have one only 16gb. i thought that'd be enough since Zelda is less than that.

There was a dialog pop up on my PC asking if I wanted to dump the save that I didn't see. Auuuughhh.

Nope, it dumps games over your home network directly onto your PC. This tutorial will walk you through the process.

Ah that'll do it lol

Patch works on Windows 7 too now.

Also it seems the cutscene player is actually more of a actual good implementation instead of just a hack, which is pretty impressive since the dude that made it is not even part of the dev team.

While I would appreciate if the author released the source code, that's pretty dope if legit. Compiling the 17k shader cache right now in preperation for the next big update to the emulator. I might actually try the game then.

I would also advise to be cautious when it comes to injectors/hacks etc for Cemu, considering the sheer amount of popularity and coverage it has received over the past few weeks it's hard to imagine it didn't attract scum that releases malicious add-ons or similar. Early days of GTAV modding taught me to be very wary even as an advanced user.

In this case the author of the hack has been talking with the devs and sharing info with them.

I don't think anyone figured out the memory addresses for durability yet, but once someone does it should be possible to have a cheat table made that people can just download and enable.

Yeah, that hack practically locks the game at 30fps for me (6700K cpu @ 4.6ghz).

Anyhow: I have a problem with the shader cache. I put the 17K dcac9927.bin package in the /transferable folder like usual but it doesn't compile it on boot up (only the 2K or so shaders I have personally come upon). Anyone?
