This is one aspect of Trump's political success that I cannot wrap my head around.

Same for me. Growing up in Jersey, I thought everyone knew Trump was a sleazebag fraudster. But we were on the inside. All these interior white evangelical "christians" are naive illiterate bigots, insular by nature and without critical thinking skills. So, it's no surprise they were so easily duped.
This is probably the one thing that pisses me off about Trump the most. Not his crookedness, not his constant lying, not his sexual assaults, not his raging hypocrisy.

I totally agree with this. Watching it from Canada, it seems very obvious to myself and most of my acquaintances.
At this point, I don't even really see those headlines anymore and my brain filters them out because of how much they've been used.

It's why he gets so much support from the GG/Alt-Right shitheels. He's the embodiment of them. They constantly whine about how PC and SJWs and outrage culture are destroying society, yet cry like babies the moment something doesn't go their way (yet somehow, due to lack of basic thinking skills, don't see how that is just as much "outrage" as what they like to accuse progressives of". He's the perfect candidate for them. A guy who likes to talk tough while at his core is just a whiny baby.
Fuck this line of thought. Trump includes snide little remarks like this so that people come in with "I don't like Trump but he is right about xyz" comments that completely ignore how Trump is sitting on a mountain of lies from, like, that past month alone that significantly outweigh one lie Blunenthal told seven years ago.
i saw it outlined a while back, how real estate scams like his work, i'll try to summarize from memory:
lend your name to a project, seek outside investors.
tell the outside investors it's a can't miss deal, and you're putting your name on it.
when they are hesitant, tell them you're throwing in your own money because the deal's just so good.
do this with enough investors, you're handsomely paid for getting the deal together.
none of the investors find out it's for a strip mall in the midwest without plumbing, electricity, or roads going to it.
i still think it's better to keep these opinion pieces coming rather than sit around and do nothing while it gets worse.

For sure, there is consistency with those numbnuts. However, it's still astounding to me how little character there is to go around in America. The answer as to why I haven't fully thought about yet, not to the extent that it requires.

Assuming you are American this is refreshing to read. America has such a 'I do 60 hours a week then pick up the kids and do weekend volunteer work and run the local sports team' likes its a badge of honor problem.
(volunteering is a good thing, but being so busy you have no time for yourself is terrible).
That all said, I'm not surprised an old stupid man needs a vacation, but he said a lot of things to get to one of the most powerful places in the world and now he's not up to the task. FUCK OFF if you can't handle it and leave it to the pros.
